Hi, seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that mainly affects your scalp. It causes scaly patches, red skin and stubborn dandruff. Seborrheic dermatitis can also affect oily areas of the body, such as the face, upper chest and back. And it can cause small pimples on the area/ s where it falls, so both can be inter-related problems. Seborrheic dermatitis is also called dandruff, seborrheic eczema and seborrheic psoriasis. It isn't contagious, and it's not a sign of poor personal hygiene. Few self-care tips can help you control and manage seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff): soften and remove scales from your hair. Apply mineral oil or olive oil to your scalp. Leave it in for an hour or so. Then comb or brush your hair and wash it. Wash your skin regularly. Rinse the soap completely off your body and scalp. Avoid harsh soaps and use a moisturizer. Avoid products that contain alcohol. These can cause the disease to flare up. Wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. This helps keep air circulating around your skin and reduces irritation. If you have a beard or mustache, consider shaving it off. Seborrheic dermatitis can be worse under mustaches and beards. If this is the case for you, shaving might ease your symptoms. Avoid scratching. Scratching can increase irritation and your risk of infection. Gently clean your eyelids. If your eyelids show signs of redness or scaling, wash them each night with baby shampoo and wipe away scales with a cotton swab. Warm or hot compresses also may help. Use lukewarm water for head wash. Medication: take homoeopathic medicines - schwabe's badiaga 200 & alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use schwabe's anti-dandruff shampoo and anti-dandruff oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use bakson's arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, you can take one tablet of multivitamin folli hair once daily for 1 month.

Hi, You are right, applying direct aloe vera on the skin or hair is good for making it shinier, but blend the jelly first and strain the contents to separate white sediments from the jelly. Apply it on your hair after shampooing, cover the head for 5minutes. After 5 minutes, rinse it off with water. Follow this and let me know..

Hello, If it is because of black heads, you need to remove the black heads. Go for regular clean ups , it will clear the black heads (if that is the reason). If it is troublesome and you want it to be gone anyhow, consult a dermatologist for laser scar treatment or proper medication. (You may use a lens to see what the scar looks like)

Hair are falling regularly and its quite embarrassing at this age. Please suggest what do I can do?
It is normal to lose about 30-80 strands of hair in a day. The common reasons behind hair fall are lack of essential nutrients in the body, improper and unhealthy dietary habits, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, dandruff, alopecia and other scalp disorders, stress and tension etc. Natural oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, almond etc. Can be used to massage the scalp for countering hair fall. Gently massage the scalp prior to head bath twice a week. Also check hemoglobin for anaemia and thyroid status with serum tsh. Have more proteins and trace minerals like copper, zinc, selenium in diet. Start taking a hair nutrition supplement. Keep stress away with regular exercise, yoga, meditation. Get the underlying scalp condition like dandruff treated.

Hello, it seems you are having allergy symptoms in your eye. This might be increasing after bath due to irritation of already sensitised eye tissues by hard water or soap. Make sure that no soap foam enters your eye while washing your face, also avoid splashing supply water in your eyes. Applying ice to the eyes is a good thing you are doing, this is infact suggested to sooth itchy eyes. Additionally always wash your eyes with clean drinking water whenever you come home from outside. If the symptoms persist try using an antihistamine eye drop.

I have deep cracked feet throughout the year. What are the reasons for it. Can you give me some remedies.
Hi, Here is a compilation of the most common causes that lead to cracked heels: • Naturally dry skin or thick dry skin (callus) around the heel that is more likely to crack is often due to excessive feet activity. • Prolonged standing at work or home. Hard floors may also cause cracks in the feet. • Being overweight may increase the pressure on the normal fat pad under the heel, causing it to expand sideways and if the skin lacks flexibility the pressure on the feet lead to cracked heels. • Back-open sandals or shoes allow the fat under the heel to expand sideways and increases the possibility of cracks on the heels. • Disease and Disorders-Athlete’s foot, Psoriasis, Eczema, Thyroid disease, Diabetes and some other skin conditions may also cause cracked heels. • Continuous exposure to water- Water, especially running water, can rob the skin of its natural oils and this can leave the skin dry and rough. Standing for prolonged periods in a damp area such as a bathroom can cause dry and cracked heels. Here is a list of some other reasons that may lead to cracked heels: • Age - Thick dry scaly skin lose elasticity with age and thus cracks have higher incidence with age. • Ill fitting shoes, standing for a long time or change in walking posture. • Unhygienic circumstances or conditions • Unhealthy, dry scaly skin due to climate or diseases • Deficiency of vitamins, minerals and zinc Home Remedies: -Soak the feet in lemon juice for about 10 minutes. Follow this therapy on a weekly basis until one finds a change. Then lightly scrub it with a loofa or soft foot brush to gently exfoliate the top layers of dead skin that cause dry cracked heels. -A daily regime of cleaning and moisturizing is a good cure for dry or cracked heels. At the end of the day soak the feet in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes. Rinse feet and pat dry. Make a healing mixture comprising of: one teaspoon Vaseline and the juice of one lemon. Rub this mixture onto the cracked heels and other required areas of the feet till it is thoroughly absorbed. This can be done daily until visible results are obtained. -A regular application of a mixture of glycerin and rosewater is known to soothe and cure cracked heels. Cracked heels are caused by deficiency of vitamins, minerals, zinc and omega 3 fatty acids. Therefore it is essential to have a diet rich in vitamins, minerals and zinc. Omega-3 fatty acids are not naturally produced by the body, therefore it has to be ingested from food or supplements.

Scabies is an itchy skin condition caused by the microscopic mite Sarcoptes scabei. It is common all over the world, and can affect anyone. Scabies spreads quickly in crowded conditions where there is frequent skin-to-skin contact between people. Hospitals, child-care centers, and nursing homes are examples. Scabies can easily infect sex partners and other household members. Sharing clothes, towels, and bedding can sometimes spread scabies. This can happen much more easily when the infested person has crusted scabies. You cannot get scabies from a pet. Pets get a different mite infection called mange. Symptoms are Pimple-like irritations or a rash Intense itching, especially at night Sores caused by scratching The infected person's clothes, bedding and towels should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer. Bath with hot water and hand wash with hot water.Treatment is also recommended for household members and sexual partners.Several lotions are available to treat scabies. Medicines that may be prescribed include: 5% permethrin cream: This is the most common treatment for scabies. It is safe for children as young as 1 month old and women who are pregnant.  25% benzyl benzoate lotion. 10% sulfur ointment.  10% crotamiton cream. 1% lindane lotion.

1. Most important thing is take lots of rest as a routine part of your life. Sleep for atleast 8 hours 2. Limit your screen life. Take breaks while working on computer and wash eyes frequently with cold water. 3. Wash your face twice with a good cleanser like tea tree face wash and use soothing toner like rose water or tea tree after that. 4. Use kojic acid based cream below eyes for atleast 4 months.

What should I do for my dark circles. I m having enough sleep still its not reducing please help.
Some causes behind the dark circles are hereditary, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Take homoeopathic medicine Ferrum Phos 6X (3 tabs) twice a day for 15 days and revert. Follow the tips: *Get an adequate amount of sleep. *Drink at least 8 -10 glasses of water everyday. *Eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A to prevent dark circles around eyes. *Avoid stress. *Gently massaging almond oil or olive oil around the eyes during nights can give great results in reducing the dark circles.
