Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. Continue treatment.

My underarms are getting darker from last few months please suggest me some remedy.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
My underarms are getting darker from last few months please suggest me some remedy.
Some of the main causes of dark underarms are shaving, regular use of hair removing creams, excessive sweating, poor ventilation of underarms, accumulation of dead skin cells, and use of alcohol-based deodorants and antiperspirants.Just like potatoes, cucumbers also have natural bleaching properties to help lighten discolored skin. Simply rub a thin cucumber slice on your underarms or grate a cucumber and apply the juice under your arms. Do this once or twice daily until you are satisfied with the results. Another option is to extract the juice from a cucumber and mix it with a little turmeric powder and lemon juice. Apply this paste on the affected area. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with water. Repeat this home remedy once daily or every other day for best results.

Hair fall or loss is a multifactorial problem where hereditary along with environmental factors and diet play an important role. Iron deficiency along with essential things like biotin, vitamin A along with other nutrients have a major role to play. Lotions, serums, tablets along with specified shampoos and conditioners can also help. Mesotherapy and Prp are promising therapies which can be tried. U can visit our website www.drsuruchipurimakeovers.com. All these treatment definitely need maintenance sessions along with local lotions application under the supervision of dermatologist. All the best and take care. Patients need multiple sessions for better outcome along with medical analysis .Hope this is of some help to you. One can take biotin tablets along with Vitamin A rich diet and lots of red grapes with seeds. Dr.Suruchi Puri was the pioneer to do her thesis on drug therapy for hair loss in India which was interviewed on aaj Tak news channel and was also published in 2002 and from that time has many satisfied patients for treatment of hair loss through non surgical means like Mesotherapy or Bio hair treatment and prp treatment

What should you eat for healthy hair

M.Sc -Food and Nutrition, B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Pune
What should you eat for healthy hair
Hair is an outward sign of your health, just like a skin. What nutrients require for healthy and growing hair. Hair require regular supply of key nutrients to remain shiny, lustrous and strong. These are the key nutrients:-

1. Protein
As hair is made of protein, ensuring you have enough protein in your diet is crucial for making hair strong and healthy. If you are not consuming enough protein in your diet, your hair is likely to become dry, brittle and weak. Extremely low protein diets may result in hair loss. Choose chicken, turkey, fish, dairy products and eggs as excellent sources of protein along with vegetarian sources such as legumes and nuts.

2) Iron
Iron is an especially important mineral for hair and too little iron (anaemia) is a major cause of hair loss. The hair follicle and root are fed by a nutrient rich blood supply. When iron levels (serum ferritin) fall below a certain point, you may experience anaemia. This disrupts the nutrient supply to the follicle, affecting the hair growth cycle and may result in shedding. Animal products such as red meat, chicken and fish provide iron with a high bioavailability, meaning the iron is readily available to the body. Vegetarians can raise their iron stores by including lentils, spinach and other leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale and salad greens.

3) Vitamin C
Vitamin c aids the absorption of iron so foods high in vitamin c are good to eat in conjunction with iron-rich foods. Vitamin c is also an antioxidant so is used readily by the body. The best sources are blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin c helps in the production of collagen that strengthens the capillaries that supply the hair shafts.

4) Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are important fats our body cannot make itself, and therefore must be obtained through our diet. Omega-3s are found in the cells that line the scalp and also provide the oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated. Look out for oily fish such as salmon, herring, sardines, trout and mackerel and plant sources including avocado, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.

5) Vitamin A
Vitamin a is needed by the body to make sebum. Sebum is an oily substance created by our hairs sebaceous glands and provides a natural conditioner for a healthy scalp. Without sebum we may experience an itchy scalp and dry hair. Include animal products and orange/yellow coloured vegetables which are high in beta-carotene (which makes vitamin a) such as carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes.

6) Zinc and Selenium
Scalp protection involves other important minerals, notably zinc and selenium. A lack of zinc can lead to hair loss and a dry, flaky scalp. Fortified cereals and wholegrains are a good source of zinc along with oysters, beef and eggs.

7) Vitamin E
The sun can damage our hair just like it can damage our skin so ensure you eat foods rich in vitamin e to provide protection for your hair. Nuts are nutritional powerhouses, providing zinc and selenium as well as vitamin e so try to include them as part of a balanced diet.

8) Biotin
Biotin is a water-soluble b vitamin. Too little biotin can cause brittle hair and may lead to hair loss. Include biotin rich foods such as wholegrains, liver, egg yolk, soy flour and yeast.

Sir I have pimples problem on my face or my back I am trying a lot of me midsens not improve ment.
Hi, you can control mild acne with basic skin care: 1) use a good facewash like clean and clear or himalya neem. 2) use antidandruff shampoo if acne are localized on your forehead. 3) do not pick at your acne or they might leave scars. 4) keep your hair cut short so that they do not fall on your forehead. 5) drink 8-10 glasses water daily. 6) destress yourself as stress is a known trigger for acne. 7) avoid poultry, cheese and oily food. If above does not help, you may revert back for homoepathic acne treatment.

Hello, Hansen' disease is nothing but Leprosy. Symptoms mainly affect the skin, nerves, and mucous membranes (the soft, moist areas just inside the body's openings). The disease can cause: Skin lesions that may be faded/discolored Growths on the skin Thick, stiff or dry skin Severe pain Numbness on affected areas of the skin Muscle weakness or paralysis (especially in the hands and feet) Eye problems that may lead to blindness Enlarged nerves (especially those around the elbow and knee) A stuffy nose Nosebleeds Ulcers on the soles of feet Since Hansen’s disease affects the nerves, loss of feeling or sensation can occur. When loss of sensation occurs, injuries (such as burns or fractures) may go unnoticed. You should always try to avoid injuries. Yes, it is contagious. Types of Hansen's disease: There are three systems for classifying leprosy. The first system recognizes two types of leprosy—tuberculoid and lepromatous. These are based on a person’s immune response to the disease. WHO categorizes the disease based on the type and number of skin areas affected. They are: paucibacillary—five or fewer lesions with no bacteria detected in the skin smear (sample taken from the area) multibacillary—more than five lesions or bacteria is detected in the skin smear, or both

All About Pityriasis Lichenoides

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Ghaziabad
All About Pityriasis Lichenoides

Pityriasis lichenoides is referred to a rare type of rash which is characterized by tiny papules that voluntarily flatten and relapse within a period of weeks. This condition which can range from moderate to severe in nature can be either chronic or acute. In the severest cases, it may develop into reddish brown blisters and crusts.

Causes and Symptoms: This condition which is chiefly prevalent in teenagers and adults is slightly likelier to appear in males. This condition is extremely rare among infants and aged people. Although, the precise cause of the condition is unknown, yet three major hypotheses have been suggested as the reason for the condition. They are:

  1. Infectious agents which cause an inflammatory reaction
  2. A non-cancerous form of T-cell lymphoproliferative which causes a disorder
  3. An hypersensitive vasculitis

Some of the infectious agents which can cause this condition include:

  1. Toxoplasma gondii
  2. HIV
  3. Staphylococcus aureus
  4. Parvovirus

The lesions of pityriasis lichenoides usually appear over the course of several weeks or sometimes months.

Common symptoms include:

  1. A tiny pink papule which turns reddish brown in color
  2. A fine scaly central spot which when peeled off exposes a lustrous, pinkish brown exterior
  3. The spot becomes level over a number of weeks, leaving a pinkish-brown mark, which may take several months to fade.

These spots which occur over the buttocks, arms and legs, more typically occur in the hands, feet and even the scalp. Although far from being painful or irritable, pityriasis lichenoides spots can render the skin unsightly.

Treatment: The condition though diagnosed by its history and appearance, is entirely confirmed through skin biopsy tests. In usual episodes, the skin heals on its own. But if the condition persists for long one may resort to various therapies such as topical steroids, sunburns and oral antibiotics.
