BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
You have not describe what is the problem. If its paining, it can be due to cavity or broken tooth. Bleeding in gums can result from plaque n calculus. So the best advice would be to elaborate on your problem.

I brush twice a day but still my teeth not getting whiten so say some natural methods to get whiten.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. You can use over-the-counter teeth whitening toothpastes, whitening strips, gels, rinses available in the market or visit a dentist for bleaching, scaling, etc. Also, can try the following home remedies: Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid affecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. In the morning, before you brush your teeth, scoop out a tablespoon or a little less (depending on the size of your mouth) of coconut oil. You can either soften it, or just put it in your mouth (I usually do the latter, and just let it soften.) Push, swish, and “pull” the oil through and around your teeth for 10-15 minutes, then spit it out, rinse with water, and brush your teeth.

I am male 25. Whenever I sleep day or night automatically saliva comes out please tell me to stop this what is the reason behind this.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation injection glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.

I am feeling pain in a tooth in the upper right side and that very tooth is very sensitive also. One tooth attached to this tooth is already unrooted. Please advise.

Dentist, Kanchipuram
Please visit a dentist and take an x-ray. If the roots are good we can save that teeth by doing an RCT. Otherwise you have to go for extraction.

I am 41 and diabetic for five years I feel as if my teeth not strongly rooted now a days.

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Loosening of teeth is due to loss of bone structure which holds your tooth at place. If your diabetics is under control you can go for perio treatment to make the teeth better than they are at present. Consult online or visit your dentist to discuss your general health and dental health.

My left side canal teeth thoda sa hil raha hai . How I fixed it by medicine & without cutting ?

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Only medication would not solve your problem or may be of temporary relief. Also because you are too young to have tooth mobility you must visit your dentist at the earliest. Probably cutting would not be required. Till you see a dentist start with warm saline rinses thrice in a day which may stop the problem from aggravating.

I am 22 year old male and I have cavities in my teeth. Please suggest some medicine to remove cavity.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning and artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have taken my teeth. And a small hole is there in the place where the tooth was taken. I Face Difficulties In Eating And Having Pain Can Y Suggest Me The medicines Or The Precautions For Curing The Same.

DGOI, Aesthetic , M.Sc - Master of Oral Implantology (MOI), MDS - Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Hi lybrate-user. Sorry to know about your pain. Rightly said by you there is a hole in the area where the tooth was taken out. And food stuffs get stuck there and the pain nags u. Though usually the pain in such cases is not too severe. But a constant nag that your attention gets deflected from your daily routine. Well george nothing to worry about this. As this is the course of healing how the socket heals. Eventually the hole will close by the gums and much later where there is a hole the bone forms. But my freind this takes a while as you know bone and gums don't form so fast. Let the nature take its course. Ofcourse for the pain you can take any pain killers that suits you or the pain killer prescribed by your dentist. Makes sure you keep urself hydrated well and be on a high protien diet. Your dentist must've mentioned you about salt water rinses. Continue doin that as it doesn't let the bacteria grow because of the food stuffs inadvertently getting on to the area. Give it a few days and ill be totally fine. Don't overprescribe urself with medicines. As let the body fight against the mild pain. Eat well and stay hydrated and keep the area clean.

Why Dental Implants Work So Well

Why Dental Implants Work So Well

Tooth lost to either decay or gum disease leaves a dent in many areas - facial appearance, chewing, facial structure support, etc.  Fixed dentures were a good substitute, however, with one major disadvantage.  They required removal of natural tooth structure from adjacent healthy teeth.  The next big search was to find ways to avoid this, and the result is the dental implant.

The tooth has a visible part called the crown and an invisible part called the root which is hidden in the jaw bone.  While the fixed denture replaces only the crown, the implant replaces both the crown and the root.

How implants are done: Once a tooth is lost and the bone is healed to the desired extent, a biocompatible titanium post that is screwed into the bone. This material has the unique property of osseointegration - it fuses to the bone, which is almost like a natural tooth in its socket.  This complete fusion may take about 2 to 6 months depending on overall health. After it gets absorbed well into the bone, a crown that matches the adjacent teeth is fixed on it.  Implants can also be used for replacing multiple teeth or for overdentures.

There are certain reasons why implants work so well, listed below are some:

  • The material: Titanium is biocompatible and does not cause any adverse reaction in the body.  It fuses to the bone completely and is not just put in place to fill the gap. That ensures that the support provided for the new crown or bridge is as good as the original tooth with a root embedded in the jaw bone
  • Post-implant care:  Required, but not to the extent required by dentures.  There is very minimal difference between caring for an implant and caring for an implant
  • Function: As the implant is completely fused and embedded in the bone, it functions as good as a natural tooth in terms of chewing efficiency and pressure that can be applied on it. This is not the case with dentures
  • Gum health: Bridges have an adverse effect on the gums with a constant mild pressure exerted on them.  Implants do not do that and therefore are more friendly on the gums
  • Bone health: While bridges affect the alveolar bone health by allowing them to continue to degenerate, implants occupy the space in the bone and do not allow further degeneration. This is probably the most important advantage of implants.
  • Aesthetics: Needless to say, the look of a well-done implant far surpasses that of the dentures.

Check with your dentist if you are an ideal candidate for implant, and if yes, it surely is worth the investment.
