Madam , we have very good homeo treatment to regulate periods without causing adverse effects. The treatment is very much dependent on detailed description of your complaints- you may opt for private consultation giving the following information- 1. Usual gap between periods 2. Sleeping on flat surface is always good position for keeeping spine healthy. You can use mild cushion type bed but should not be uneven or more soft. Bed or mattress alwsys should give straight support to back, without any moulds, bends, curves. In my opinion,&for health sake also, completely avoiding usage of pillow is good. If you can not suddenly stop, try to go for lesser hight pilow&gradually you can avoid totally. Better to keep feet a bit high by kerping a roll of blanket or mild highted (slight high) pillow undrr legs, which will help to circulate blood properly to brain. Do not use hard pillow ever.

3 Essential Tips to Prevent Back Pain

Back pain is one of the most common debilitating disorder in the world today. The pain affects 90% of people at some point of their lives. Human back comprises of various structures (see figure) which are nerves, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, any or all of which can be a source of pain. Once back pain occurs, it may become chronic (more than 4 weeks) and you shall need to consult a pain physician for relief and accurate diagnosis.

Since prevention is always better than cure,  you can save yourself from having back pain if you follow these basic tips:

  1. Regular Exercise in Correct Form: Regular exercise is important to maintain proper muscular strength of the back. Human back is supported by several big muscle groups (see figure). They serve two functions - one is to facilitate the posture and movements of the back itself and the other is to help movements of the rest of the body appendages (arms, head, pelvis and legs).The health of these muscle group is important to take stress off the spinal bones and maintain proper function. Most of these muscles are red muscle fibers as they need to maintain their activity for prolonged periods of time. Just to give you an idea - your biceps (arm muscles) have to work only when you bend your arm. But your back muscles have to function all the time - whether you sit, walk, stand or even sleep. But the point is what kind of exercises are good for your back? The best exercises for back include body weight low impact aerobics like brisk walking, swimming, stationary bicycling, extension exercises and yoga. What is important to remember while doing these exercises if that you need to be gentle in your movements and achieve correct "form" - this is possible if you can ask someone (preferably a trainer) to observe and point out whether the back stays straight during the exercise. It has been seen that arching and excessive bending is associated with injury to the back while exercising.

  2. Stay Hydrated and Eat Natural Nutritious diet:The inter vertebral discs contain 70 - 80% water. The muscles and tissues have 60% water content. Therefore, it is important to stay hydrated. In addition, you must eat a nutritious diet consisting of green leafy vegetables, good protein source and just enough carbohydrates. Deficiencies of essential nutrients like Vitamin D can result in diseases like osteoporosis. Another important aspect is to maintain body weight within healthy limits. This is very important as increased belly fat is linked to increased back pain due to mechanical factors.

  3. Lift objects correctly and maintain proper posture: While lifting objects, keep them as close to body as possible. Do not slouch or bend excessively while lifting. Just keep your back straight at all times. You may bend your knees a little if required (see figure). Think before you lift and get help if needed.

While working, you must not sit for more than 45 minutes at a stretch. Walk for two minutes, go to a colleague's desk and say hi or even just drink some water or visit the washroom. Humans evolved as hunter - gatherers and our bodies are more adapted to walking / standing than to sitting for prolonged periods. Those of you who travel more and have to sit for long periods of time also need to follow above tips - avoid prolonged sitting in same posture.While exercising, improper position can do more harm than good. Therefore, proper form and posture is a must.

Bonus tip: Avoid cigarette smoking and those who smoke cigarettes to decrease your chances of having degenerative disc diseases leading to chronic back pain early in life.

Word of caution to prevent permanent damage: In case of back pain, which is not responding to home remedies or over the counter painkillers, please contact a Pain Physician to pinpoint the diagnosis and appropriate management.

Stiffness is the symptom of muscle weakness. Take hot fermentation and do back exercises. Maintain proper back posture. Hi. Thanks for the query. may I know for what indication you have been prescribed Escitalopram? As you may be already aware, Escitalopram is an antidepressant (SSRI group of medication) & is considered to be one of the safest antidepressants & one with least side effects. It might adversely affect sexual functions in some patients & may NOT effectively help in symptoms in domains of lethargy/fatigue (you are not able to pull up yourself for work). Hence, safer alternative at this point can be either Bupropion or Agomelatine; both of which Do NOT adversely affect sexual function & especially Bupropion has added advantage of alleviating fatigue & related symptoms. A heart attack is caused if the blood flow to the heart is somehow obstructed by fat deposits, cholesterol or other substances, thereby, forming a plaque in the arteries. The disruption in this flow of blood destroys a part of the heart muscle and may prove to be fatal if not treated right on time.

Not every heart attack starts with a sudden crushing pain in the chest. In fact, about 30 per cent of the cases haven’t yielded any such symptom. However, the signs may vary from one person to another:

  1. Heart attack might start slowly causing only mild discomfort or pain initially. The symptoms happen to be sudden and intense, persisting for several hours.
  2. Mostly heart attack induces pain on the left side or the center of the chest. The discomfort generally persists for a few minutes. It can even result in a feeling of indigestion or heart burn, fullness, squeezing and pressure which can turn from mild to severe.
  3. One might also experience an aching sensation in the upper stomach, jaw, neck, shoulders, back or both of the arms.
  4. Shortness of breath is one of those very common symptoms.
  5. Other common symptoms include excessive sweating, exhaustion, vomiting, nausea, sudden dizziness or light-heartedness.

How can you tell a heart attack from a mere panic attack?
Panic attack occurs even more suddenly and induces intense fear, extracting extreme reactions for something relatively harmless. Once the attack subsides, one usually feels week on the knees and tender near the gut. Some of the symptoms exclusive to a panic attack include a feeling of detachment, numbness, hot flashes, chills and tightness experienced in and around the throat, tremors (primarily of the hands) and a constant fear of losing control or of an impending danger.

Although many indications of a heart attack might happen to overlap with those of a panic attack, there are still a few noteworthy differences between the two. Watch out for those signs and get yourself diagnosed properly. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a cardiologist and ask a free question.

One Lybrate Dr. Suggests that if the thread of IUCD not out side then its a problem, and weekly checkup required, how I can know or she that where is the thread and device. Whats the use if we have to move weekly to the gynecologist for IUCD check. One more query if I insert my penis into the uterus of my wife ,it effects the device. The thread can be inserted inside and it will create problem.

Hi narender Firstly the thread is usually outside if not found by you , you can go to a gynaec and she will check and will tell you how to check. But you dont have to bisit every week. Just a few follow ups after the insertion of Iucd then you dont have to regularly go every week. Also no problem during sex as it is inserted furthur inside and it is for safe sex.

As diabetes is metabolic condition in which an individual affected would have rise in blood glucose level either due to insulin production is not sufficient or body's cells do not respond properly to insulin or both.

It is very important for you to remove fried foods from your diet if you have any intentions of losing weight. •Make sure that you do not include fried chicken, fried meat, fried rice or any other fried snacks in your daily diet. •If you completely eliminate fried foods you can see remarkable changes in your weight in a month or two.
