Sometime when he take a bath from hot water then his eyes becomes red:/ is this normal.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
As long as your eyes doesn't feel anything and redness goes away quickly I don't think it's nothing to worry about. It is due to heat of water that bloodvesel in eyes swell up but I don't think you should be worried about this as it subsides on its own after bath.

My eye glass no is -8 of both eyes and increasing so please kindly suggest me how I can the no is reduce and not increasing.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 37 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Get your eyes tested for vision. Wear glasses as prescribed by the eye specialist. Continuously reading small print without proper light should be avoided. Smart phone may cause strain. Don't expose your eyes to extreme sunny weather of cold windy weather. Don't be closer to people with eye infections as you may contact the infection. In my left eye in corner something is there looks like conjunctivitis since 2 months. But nothing happened. What should I do?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, If you are talking about red eyes then bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T.V., working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter.

I have red eyes in after 15 days but when I wash the face, so my eyes is normal I means not an red its is a true situation. please provide any tips.

DOMS, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Dear red eye has many causes. You have to see if it is associated with blurring of vision, pain, discharge and other complaints. But commonly its allergic or infective in origin ie allergic or infective conjunctivitis. Which has simple treatment protocol. But still its wise to see an ophthalmologist for a thorough slit lamp examination to rule out other differentials for red eye.

M.Optom, D.Opt

Best option for you would be to have vision ICL done A lens is implanted in the posterior chamber between the natural lens and the iris. In case you don't want to go for surgical procedures, you may try Scleral RGP lenses.

My 9 years old son has amblyopia (re6/36 le6/6) & having 6 hrs patch therapy with glasses (+4.25d). Do you have treatment for this?

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
You seem to be already doing the right thing. Visit your doctor again after about three months, (or at least in 6 months) and see how much is the improvement, any change required in glasses. Good recovery is possible even up to age 14 years.
