Hello. Acidity occurs when there is excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. When the secretion is more than usual, we feel, what is commonly known as heartburn, which is normally triggered off by consumption of spicy foods. Here are some home remedies to cure acidity. - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead. - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday. - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity. - Coconut water is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity. - Drink a glass of cold milk - everyday. - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before going to bed. - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals. - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc. - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals. - Jaggery, lemon, banana, almonds and yogurt are all known to give you instant relief from acidity. - Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity, so cut down. - Try chewing gum. The saliva generated helps move food through the esophagus, easing symptoms of heartburn. - Eat Ginger as it aids in digestion. - A simple preparation of lemon water with sugar can be sipped on an hour before lunch to reduce uneasiness. - Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions. Medication: Take Biochemic medicine - Natrum Phos. 6x/ thrice daily ½ an hour after meals.

I have constipation from last 1 month, wht should I do to clear my digestive system.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Please note the following for your condition: Baking soda lies at the heart of home remedies. It’s is so incredibly versatile, and it pretty much does its job 95% of the time. It works incredibly well for constipation (and tummy aches in general) because it is a bicarbonate, which will encourage air to come out of you one way or another, and relieve pain from pressure. It also re-alkalizes the stomach, neutralizing the acid a little bit and helping things pass through your gut. You will need… -1 teaspoon baking soda -1/4 cup warm water Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with ¼ cup of warm water. Drink all of the mixture-the quicker you finish it, the better it seems to work. For further queries get back to me.

Hello lybrate-user your wife is having severe hyperacidity hence she feels burning sensation in stomach and throat. It gets aggravated because of spicy food that's why it is restricted. To have normal food her acid secretion in stomach should get normalise. The current medicines inhibit production of hcl in stomach in a way helps to lesser extent. As per my opinion stop all medicine go for panchakarma detoxification treatment it helps lot. If not want to go for pk there are some ayurvedic medicines which helps in better way without side effects.

Pain, fever and vomiting means a low grade infection such as appendicitis, mesenteric lymphadenitis or a meckel's diverticulum infection. Get a blood test for wbc count and crp, esr. Does she have exposure to tuberculosis. Also a stool examination to rule out amoebiasis.

My friend needs a piece of advice for himself, his question is as follows: I don't digest much food, as well as I feel full. Add to that in the morning I just eat a piece of cake then I become nauseous. So what is the problem, and what are the steps given to avoid this complication?

Diploma in Hospital Administration, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
There is possibility of Constipation causing stomach related symptoms. Cause can be due to less intake of fibers in the diet. Exercises make your gut move faster. Isabgol/Banana mixed in curd or milk is good source of fiber, which swells up with water, act as stool softener and build pressure.Drink a lukewarm water with half lemon juice and a spoon of Honey and walk will be of some help.or worms infestation. Get your stool tested for worms infestation. If eggs or cyst of worms is positive then consult your doctor for Deworming/ Amoebiasis treatment

Hi, I am suffering from gas. This is really unavoidable. I even don't want to eat because of this. What should I do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Udupi
Bloating of stomach is due to improper digestion, as it leads to excess accumulation of gas the abdomen feels full, and it results in hatred towards food. Diet: have sufficient quantity of hot water while having food, take the food which is easily digestible, avoid food like potato etc, avoid junk food. Have timely and hot food medication: tab lashunadi vati 1-1-1 before food avipattikara choorna 1tsf at night with warm water.
