Gudeve mam/ sir I am 23, years old n I think I got a cervical neck pain. Its been couple of month but the neck pain is not going. Wt to do?

1. Take one tablet of crocin pain relief sos after food upto a maximum of 3 tablets daily 2. Apply volini gel twice daily 3. Give warm compress locally 4. Take rest if you have recurrent attack of neck pain a) take x ray/mri cervical spine to exclude spondylitis and consult orthopedic specialist b) sometimes it could be due to bad sitting posture while reading or working on computer. Adopt proper sitting posture, put neck rest, use soft pillow while sleeping c) do physio therapy and neck exercise after consulting physiotherapist.

My daughter is 23 years old. She is suffering from lower back pain since a week. What should be done?

Hello, Lower back pain since a week, requires investigation. I would suggest you to first give her hot water fomentation after applying volini gel. It Shud help her get rid of her pain. If she gets gud relief with above simple technique then no investigation required. You can also give her combiflam to help her with her pain. If still she gets pain then better get a xray spine done. I hope you get relief and do not require any further investigation. Tk care.

This is because of dehydration and lack of nutrition. You must take rest. Take high protein diet for recovery of muscles. Drink plenty of water and sports drinks. It's summer time.

Hi, I have constant pain in my upper body, shoulders, chest, upper back, neck and half portion of head joining neck. The weired thing is this pain keeps moving sometimes shoulder, sometimes chest, neck and all upper body part. It has been a month that I am suffering. I have taken muscles relaxing medicine but it's not only one place which it kind of rotate, very difficult to explain also. What can it be?, Is it gas traveling everywhere? Which kind of doctor should I see, please help.

For permanent cure, you should visit to a nearby physiotherapist first. So he/she will be able to assess closely your muscular and posture related issues. For now, do some hot fomentation, sit tall, walk talk tall, for a few days say no to your smart phone and unwanted use of any gadgets, or activities involving too much forward neck bending. Sit on a chair. Lean backwards for seconds, put your both hands behind the head and give a backward stretch, sit in front of mirror and press head agaaint palm in all four directions for 10 seconds each. See it can be a trigger point in a muscle, if so a physical therapist can cure it with dry needling. But before going to PT i would suggest you to go to a General Physician to get you lump eveluated for cancer, if he feels so he will ask you to get biopsy done. No need to worry but don't ignore it now !!

you may be having obesity(over weight) 1.Do regular aerobic exercise like brisk walking/jogging/running/cycling/swimming for 1 hour daily 2.Reduce weight 3Control diet 4.Avoid sweets,sugar,oily,fatty, excess calorie/cholesterol,saturated fat and carbohydrate rich diet. Take green leafy vegetables/fruits/salads.Drink plenty of water. Dear hello, she might be having cervical and lumbosacral spondylosis +- osteoporosis. Get her x-rays of the neck and back done along with serum vit. D3 and vit. B12 and cbc in a good lab. Meanwhile. She must use a hard mattress, soft and thin pillow and medicate her with some pain killers for a week or so. Take care.

Hii I am 20 years old, I am suffering from heavy back pain, please give solution?

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Yes there is no problem in taking coconut water daily. Take more n more fibrous food. Avoid spicy and oily food. Drink plenty of liquids. For backache you may go for massage with mahanarayan tail. Calcium supplements can also b added.

Treating Arthritis Pain using Hot and Cold Therapy

Arthritis is painful inflammation of the joints caused by excessive amounts of uric acid in the blood. This causes friction in the joints and may cause inflammation among muscle tissues. This is a very painful condition and may even be debilitating for many people. One of the methods used to provide relief from arthritis pain is the hot and cold therapy. Let’s have a look at it in detail.

How does hot and cold treatment work’s?

The hot and cold treatments work on various joints or muscle areas and are very effective in lowering pain as well as providing more mobility to the affected areas. Both these therapies try to enable the healing forces within the body and hence improve on the conditions which cause arthritis pain.

Heat treatment therapy: Heat therapy uses the principle of the expansion of material when warmer. If heat is applied to an affected area, it dilates the blood vessels, improves and stimulates blood circulation and also reduces muscle spasms. Heat treatments are very effective in soothing stiff joints and tired muscles as they encourage the flow of blood to the areas being treated. Some of the options available for heat treatments would be:

1. Heats patches that are disposable

2. Heating belts made for specific parts of the body

3. Moist heating pads

4. Simple hot water in a tub

5. Paraffin wax and Mineral oil

6. Hot oil massages

7. Warms showers or baths

8. Warmed towels or clothes used as a hot compress

Cold treatment therapy: Cold uses the very opposite principle of heat therapy to provide pain relief to arthritis patients. Cold has the properties of being able to constrict blood vessels and slow the flow of blood, thus resulting in numbing the area and reducing pain. Cold treatment is also very effective in reducing swelling as it can fight inflammation very effectively. It is mostly useful in cases of acute and chronic pain and is a very good pain reliever. Some of the options available for cold treatments would be:

1. Cold compress by using ice in a waterproof bag with a towel covering it to protect the skin.

2. Buying a medically manufactured ice pack or bag

3. Buying ice gel packs from the medical store which can be frozen and then used

4. Making ice packs at home by mixing water with rubbing alcohol and then freezing it

5. Taking ice bath by pouring ice into the bath tub.

I have left leg knee pain. What is the remedies of that. How I can control the pain.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Having unbearable pain in the arm from neck and shoulder since two to three weeks. Some doctors are saying she is having spondylosis.

Pain arising from the neck and going down the shoulder or the arm could be because of either severe spondylosis or due to a prolapsed intervertebral disc (slipped disc). Do hot water fomentation twice around the neck. Avoid any kind of activity that requires prolonged neck bending. Do neck extension exercises. You can google the following exercises and repeat 10times- twice daily exercises- 1. Neck retraction 2. Retraction with extension 3. Neck strengthening exercises. Always use a pillow under the neck when lying down. If these do not help you. Kindly get yourself checked by a physiotherapist at the earliest.

Hello I think you did not works for long time with your right hand. Due to lesser work shoulder muscles get emaciated and looking small than left. So now you should start light shoulder exercise to increase the tonicity of the shoulder muscles.

Hello according to your condition you have to take hot water fermentation through towel and do it 3 times in a day duration-15 min along with stretching and back exercises like straingh leg raising, bridging with -20 min repetition -5 sec hold do it for 3 days sure you will get well soon take care.
