I have a 38 days old baby she is not sleeping properly is it safe to give pedicloryl to my baby can you suggest.
Pedicloryl is sedative. It is given in special conditions under advice of Doctor. It is necessary to ascertain cause of sleeplessness. Most common cause is hungry tummy. Feed her properly. 2nd cause is nostrils block. If it is So, instill saline nasal drop in each nostrils 3 to 4 times in a day. Otherwise it is advisable to consult pediatrician.

How To Take Care Of A New Born?

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Jaipur
How To Take Care Of A New Born?

Newborns primarily need your love, care, and attention. If you aren't sure whether you're on the right track with your little one, read on to find out the 3 most important things that your newborn needs:

1. Skin-to-skin contact: One of the best ways to speed up the bonding process with your newborn is by having as much as possible skin-to-skin contact with your child. This is important as the newborn connects through smell and touch during this time. The senses of your baby are naturally tuned to react to the feel of your bare skin and your distinctive smell.

Many studies also suggest that close physical contact can help in reducing stress in your newborn so as to allow its biological drive to come through and easily latch onto your breast to feed itself. In other words, it ensures a higher chance of getting the newborn started on breast milk in case your child is not taking to your breasts easily.

2. To be breastfed: The best food for your baby is milk that is produced by you. Breast milk offers a host of benefits that go beyond basic nourishment. According to research conducted by the national institute of environmental health sciences, a child faces 20% lower chances of dying between the ages of 28 days and 1 year if he or she is breastfed.

Protecting your child from illnesses such as childhood cancers or type 1 and type 2 diabetes, allergies, and obesity are some of the very important benefits that mother's milk can provide.

3. Swaddling your baby right: Wrapping a blanket snugly around the body of your newborn can help calm your little one and promote sleep. Several studies reveal that this technique of swaddling (which is done to resemble the mother's womb) if done correctly can bring about longer and better sleep for your child as well as reduce instances of crying. It also ensures your baby stays warm and comfortable. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Pediatrician.

General Physician,
Growth and development: newborn to 12 months

A child's first year of life is an amazing period of growth and development. Here's a snapshot of your child's growth and development during the first 12 months of life.

Growth
During the first year, your baby will grow rapidly. By the end of the first year, your baby will have grown about 25 cm (10 inches), and will also have tripled their birth weight. Your baby's growth will tend to come in "spurts"

Development
Babies will reach a number of important developmental milestones during the first year:

Tracking a moving object with their eyes: around 2 months
Cooing: around 2 to 4 months
Raising head while lying on tummy: 3 to 4 months
Grabbing at objects: 3 to 5 months
Rolling over: around 4 to 6 months
Developing colour vision: around 4 to 6 months
Sitting alone without support: around 5 to 6 months
Starting solid foods: around 6 months
Pulling up: around 6 to 9 months
Crawling: around 6 to 9 months
Laughing, babbling, and making "raspberry" sounds: around 6 to 9 months
Imitating sounds (and perhaps saying "Mama" and "Dada" without knowing what they mean): around 9 to 12 months
Trying to walk or taking their first steps: around 9 to 12 months (may be later)
understanding several words: around 12 months
Helping your child grow and develop
The first year is your chance to get to know your baby. You will learn about their personality, the activities they enjoy, and the way they react to different situations. It's also a time where your baby will learn to know and trust you.

Here are a few tips on making the first year a safe and happy one:

Let your baby explore their world, but take steps to keep them safe. There are a few safety "musts" during the first year:
Take an infant first aid or CPR course so you'll be able to handle emergencies.
Be sure you have a properly-installed, rear-facing infant car seat that is certified by the CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and use it every time your baby is in the car.
Until your baby can roll over on their own, put them to sleep on their back.
Keep small objects away from your baby because your baby may choke on them.
Once your baby can move around, baby-proof your home. Plug outlet covers, lock drawers and toilets, install corner guards, keep small objects out of reach, and use baby
gates for the stairs.
Don't leave your baby alone with other children or pets. Also, don't leave your baby alone on a surface where they can roll off (such as a change table).

Talk, read, and sing to your baby: Even if it seems like they're not listening, their sharp little brain is taking everything in. Tell your baby what you are doing, and label objects, actions, and feelings.

Give your baby lots of love and attention. A baby who feels loved and secure will form a strong bond with their parents and feel more secure to explore the world around them.

Trust your instincts. Do what you feel is best for your baby. If something doesn't seem right, get it check out ONLINE www.Lybrate.Com/drsajeev

Finally, keep in mind that every child develops at their own pace. The timeframes listed here are just averages - your child may reach these milestones earlier or later. If you are concerned about your child's growth or development, CONSULT your doctor ONLINE www.Lybrate.Com/drsajeev

Only thing I want to add is that after refrigragion you can thaw the milk by keeping the katori in lukewarm container. And for two days you should express the milk and empty the breast whenever possible just to maintain adequate milk supplies.

No nebulisation has no dependence...normal saline is alright...but if nebulisation apparatus is not kept clean and sterile then there is risk of transmission of organisms through aerosol therapy....so do not make it a habbit of nebulising frequently...you can use other options

Find out which food she like. Then cook that food with high oil, oats to increase caloric value. Self feeding is most important even she spoil the cloths, table.

in those rare cases, formula feed is allowed. but breast milk is still most preferred. at least for first six months. you can not judge the status of immune system today. but my advise is to give healthy emotional environment along with nutrition. then only your baby will have strong immune system.

My son, 22 Month old do not eat anything from birth. he never drink milk from the bottle and never eat any stuff like humans since his birth. he is under weight and we are feeding him milk through 20ml syringe and feed him liquid Dalia force fully by directly injecting it in his mouth. we have consulted several pediatrics the recent one is HOD Max hospital delhi but nothing worked out. As per doctors, baby is fine it just require discipline to improve his food habits. My question is, how can food habits be improved when a baby is not interested in taking any eatable stuff inside his mouth and if we forcefully give into his mouth, he never chew or swallow it. Can someone help us....we are facing a really bad luck with my baby..I will really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Faridabad
you have rightly said that your baby does not eat like humans because you don't treat your baby as human.STOP FORCED FEEDING AND STOP MILK FEED altogether.love your kid but do not feed.you have done the way you wanted, and baby is under weight, now follow the basic principles that are being elaborated.only six meals a day,one meal to be served for twenty minutes only otherwise remove the plate,no grazing in between the meals,no junk food, one large meal followed by small meal and repeat alter natively,if baby does not eat then next meal after three hours.let baby be hungry and demand food.necessity is mother of invention.I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY BODY DYING OF HUNGER WHEN FOOD IS AVAILABLE.
