Could be dryness of eyes. Use refresh gel eye drops once daily. If no improvement could be allergic try taking tablet Allegra 120 once daily. Do not use any other eye drops until you get examined by an eye specialist

I am 18 year old. I Had got an injury on eyebrow in 2004. In result blood is deposited in my eye. After one month my eyesight started weaken. Then I consult in navsari. They have done cataract surgery in 2005. After 5 year. My eyes pupil starting looks like white. Its like something (white) is moving in pupil. Recently I have got vitrectomy nd sf6. But its as it is. Nothing is changed. Nd my vision is only 40%. If anyone is understanding my case. please hlp me. What is dis in actual.

Hello. Being a retina surgeon, I do understand your problem pretty well. Let me go through your query point wise. First and foremost, traumatic injuries to the eye or the area around the eyes have an increased risk of being complicated along with poor vision recovery. The injury that occurred to your eye must have resulted in a traumatic catarct developing in the eye. For this, you were operated in 2005. Subsequently, the vitrectomy along with injection of sulfur hexafluoride (sf6) gas was done for your retina complication. The reason for incomplete recovery of vision are multiple: (1) the retina may be damaged along with loss of an important layer in it (photoreceptors) (2) the cornea may be damaged (which may resyult in whitening) (3) the optic nerve may have suffered damage which may have caused it to dry up. Thus, to be frank, it would be a good idea to check your eyes and then suggest you any possible treatment alternatives.

Get your refraction done and wear spectacles Eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularily if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These r few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which wd increases your eyesight.

Eye redness is most often due to swollen or dilated blood vessels. This makes the surface of the eye look red. There are many causes of a red eye or eyes like infection, allergy. Foreign body in eyes. Some are medical emergencies and some are a cause for concern, but not an emergency. Others are nothing to worry about. Consult your local eye specilist to see what is the cause

Hello, get your eyes tested from an opthalmologist. Include the following for getting better vision: vitamins a, c, e, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. Dha is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for strengthening eye muscles: -begin by partially closing your eyes; the lids should only be halfway shut. After holding for 10-15 seconds, close your eyes very slowly. Take a few deep breaths to increase oxygen in the blood. -warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. -hold a pen at arm's length. Focus your gaze on the tip of the pen. Bring the pen closer to your nose at a slow and steady pace. Repeat this exercise 5-10 times. -concentrate your vision on the tip of your nose. Then shift your gaze to an object further away, either at arm's length or 20 feet away. Then shift your eyes back to the tip of your nose. Repeat this exercise 10 times. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Begin by look to the left-most position (without moving your head) and hold to stretch your eye muscles. Hold for 5 counts. Blink and return your gaze back to look straight in front of you. Then look to the right-most position with your gaze and hold for 5 counts. Repeat 3 times, blinking between each hold. Then, repeat this exercise looking up and then down. Do not forget about blinking. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Look up and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look up to and to your left for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your left for 5 seconds. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and then reducing the power of your eyes (if the eye power is less). Take physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month and instill euphrasia eye drops twice a day. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Contact lens is a temporary substitute of lens, you are to wear & remove every day; only advantage is that no body can know that your eyes are weak. Lasik surgery is a permanent solution.

Most common cause is having a spectacles power. Just get it checked with nearest eye care specialist.

Hi doctor , I have checked my eyes. The power is normal. But doctor ask me to wear anti glare glass for safety. Is there any specific power range is for anti glare glass and is there any problem will occur.

MBBS, DNB, Diploma Dyslipidemia, CCEBDM, CCMTD

No there is no power for anti glare glasses. They have zero power. Still if affordability is not an issue polarised glasses are advisable. Better get these anti glare glasses from an authorised optician. Hope that solves your query.  Anything more then please feel free to revert.

Hi, I am 30 years old, diabetes since 21 years recently contact eye doctor for eye checkup but doctor told cataract is there in my right eye just it is so small no need of surgery what type of diet I should take to keep it constant but my sugar level are under control. please suggest me what should and what should not eat?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Hi there is no way one can keep a cataract small or not allow it to grow. Over next few weeks to months it will develop and then it has to be operated. Restricted diet helps in controlling blood sugar. When blood sugar is control fasting should be closer to 100 mg and pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c%, 7 if this is achieved, then that is good. Basically avoid sweets, deep fried food, junk foods, pastries and sweetened aerated drinks. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads, permitted fruits (100 g a day). Use whole grain products and whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Diet should provide exact calories based on your weight, extent of daily exercise and blood sugar levels. With regards.

Sir I had eye site of 2.0 nd 1.75, I am wearing specs. But I don't like it, is there any chance to remove specs?

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
unfortunately there are no natural medications to remove spectacles permanently. you can either try contact lenses or plan for refractive lasik laser surgery Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not

Mujhe eyes se kam dikhta hai isliye meri ankho se pani aata hai jisse mai pareshan ho mujhe bataya ki mai kaise isko thik karo.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS

There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik. Watering has no relation to decraesed eye sight consult local ophthalmologist to know cause of watering.

I am 28 year old male having spectacles since last 10 years with -1.5 power with cylindrical Spherical number. I want to take advice whether I should go through the lasik operation to remove the specs.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Sangrur
Hello lasik is very good option to get rid of glasses doctor will perform few tests (schirmer test, pentacam and fundus examination) and if all tests are normal then you can go for lasik surgery without fear. Success rate of lasik is over 96%. Side effects may vary from minimal like mild dryness, dalk, haloes, glare to severe like infection (very rare). Precaution include: a. Avoid face/head wash for 1 week b. Avoid swimming /water sports for 6 weeks c. Avoid eye make up for 6 weeks cost: depends on type of lasik which varies from 25000 for standard lasik to 1.10 lacs for smile lasik for more details, you can read my health tip on lasik.
