gum bleeding is associated with periodontal problem.. tooth problem can be either periodontal or carious lesion, here is the solution for both of them it seems you might be having periodontal problem.. c/as pyorrhea...you need to get rid of it... it needs aggressive therapy...you need to make a habit of rinsing your mouth everytime you eat something and brush regularly (once in the morning before meals and once at night after dinner),add a mouthwash for better oral hygiene.... if the problem persist, you need to consult a dentist for more specific diagnosis and treatment would be tailored accordingly

Just using any paste is not going to help you. Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist and then your problem will be solved.

Ice cream to be taken half an hour post tooth removal

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Coimbatore
Ice cream to be taken half an hour post tooth removal
Ice cream to be taken half an hour post tooth removal. Intake of ice cream or cold beverage makes the smaller blood vessels shrink thereby reducing bleeding at the extracted tooth socket.
External application of cold also aids in the same phenomenon.

Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

There are so many reasons of pain in tooth. You should visit to a dentist to identify exact cause of pain and proper treatment. Temporarily you can have pain killer for relief, but this is not a permanent solution. Visit to a dentist soon.

Diabetes and Dental Health

Diploma In Cosmetic Dentistry, Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Diabetes and Dental Health

Diabetes is a degenerative disease, which affects your metabolism. As a result of metabolic irregularities, every part of the body is affected. The following are early indications of untreated diabetes:

  • Increased thirst
  • Increased urination
  • Increased hunger

In addition to the ones above, the following are associated symptoms:

  • Blurred vision
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Slow healing of cuts
  • Itchy skin

How can diabetes affect your mouth?

  • Diabetes increases the risk of infections and delayed regeneration of damaged/dead cells. As a result, fungal infections like thrush may develop in your mouth.
  • Because of poor healing of wounds as a result of diabetes, extensive gum damage may occur.
  • Periodontitis is a severe effect of diabetes in which your gums begin to move away from your teeth, leading to a formation of pockets between your gums and teeth, which fill up with pus and germs. The damage can be stopped only with gum surgery and removal of affected teeth.

Prevention

The single most effective way to prevent damage to your teeth is to actively control blood sugar content by regularly taking medicines and following a healthy diet recommended by your doctor. Common methods of dental protection go a long way to help prevent oral problems because of diabetes. These include:

  • Brush thoroughly and carefully after every meal (wait 30 minutes for food acids to neutralize, and then brush as this helps in effective cleaning)
  • Use non-alcoholic mouthwash to treat dry mouth and disinfect the oral cavity
  • Floss at least once everyday
  • Use a soft bristled toothbrush
  • Remove your dentures and clean them regularly. Do not sleep putting them on
  • Quit smoking, chewing tobacco and chewing gums with sugar in them

Hi lybrate-user tooth ache can arise due to several issues. Not necessarily there needs to be a decay. Sometimes the tooth clinically looks fine but there cud be a leakage from the sides of the tooth which is not visible and might need x-rays to find out or at times the nerve of the tooth might have decomposed causing an infection and cud nag you with pain. Visit your dentist for the problem cheers and god bless
