Hi, I am having ligament pain issue in my right leg ankle from past 6 months. Consulted Arpho and physiotherapy but did worked out. Please help

Ligament injuries usually take 8-14 months to be healed completely provided you don't disturb the process by excessively using that part of the joint. Use of ankle brace and ample rest should give temporary relief. Ultrasound therapy sittings 3 times in a week over a period of 3-4 months should help with healing of the ligament.

Back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid cruntches or sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to slip disc. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: try to avoid pain killers (analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay healthy. Stay happy god bless you.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. To manage new sciatica pain, you may find that certain positions and activities are more comfortable than others. The proper exercises from a physiotherapist will help reduce sciatic pain. The exercises recommended will depend on what's causing the sciatica. It's important to work with a specialist who has experience working with people with sciatica. It's also important to do the exercises exactly as directed. Here are some home treatments for sciatica which you can follow: -do not bend, lift, or sit in a soft, low chair; the pain will get worse. -try a cold pack to see if it helps the pain. If you don't have a cold pack, use a large bag of frozen vegetables; it makes a good first aid cold pack. -after the cold massages, try alternating with heat from hot bag. -you may feel better lying on your back on a firm surface with a pillow under knees. Another option is lying on side with a pillow between the knees to keep the back straight. Also, a recliner chair is helpful. -do activities one is able to tolerate. Best wishes.

Your problem can be related to Muscular Spasm.Due to lack of exercise ,your back muscles are weak and whilee in same posture during sleep there is no movement for long,these muscle go into spasm.and hence you feel pain.After some movement these spasmed muscles becomes somebut mobile and hence pain reduces. Homoeopathic medicine RHUS TOX 30 ( Dr Reckeweg) Drink 5 drops in 1 poon fresh water 3 time daily Start doing morning exercises daily for 20-30 minutes.

Thank you for the query. Computer programmers are very prone to develop a condition called Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This occurs due to compression of a nerve called median nerve as it passes through a tunnel in your wrist (carpal tunnel). The main symptoms are pain, numbness and tingling, in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and the thumb side of the ring fingers. The symptoms may be worse at night. Clinical examination and nerve conduction velocity test confirms the diagnosis. However, other causes like degenerative wrist joint changes and tendinitis may also be a cause. Please get a X ray of the wrist joint done (AP and lateral). It is difficult to comment on the exact cause without examining. I would suggest you to consult an orthopaedic surgeon. Meanwhile you can take Calcium supplements and apply ice pack locally.

I can understand after reading your query that you are having a radiating kind of pain in your leg region. This would normally indicate some impingement of nerve or narrowing of your lower spinal canal. I would also like to ask you the duration of such pain and whether your pain increases on walking, or if it is associated with any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
