Diabetes: 5 Common Symptoms of it!

At present 3 out of the 5 people are suffering from diabetes and it is the 7th leading cause of death worldwide. Moreover, it is no more restricted just to adults and affects children as well. Diabetes is a metabolic disease resulting in increase in the level of glucose in the body. Glucose is a source of energy for the cells making up the muscles and other tissues in the body. But if the level of glucose goes up, it shows the sign of danger. Diabetes is of 2 types: 

  1. Type 1: Body fails to produce insulin.
  2. Type 2: Body fails to produce enough insulin which is required by the body.

There are no definite signs of diabetes. It simply varies from person to person. In many of the cases it goes unnoticed. Such signs are as follows:

  1. Sudden weight loss: You might experience a sudden weight loss of 5 to 10 kgs within a month. This happens when sugar metabolism ceases very quickly. Insufficient insulin prevents the body from taking in glucose in the body cells from the blood to use as energy. In such a scenario the body starts burning fat and muscle for energy. This results in weight loss.
  2. Intense hunger: The cells in your body might not get enough energy either due to absence or improper functioning of insulin in your blood. This makes you hungry quite often.
  3. Excessive urination and thirst: Due to diabetes, the glucose level in the body goes up. The kidneys are overloaded with the burden of working overtime for filtering and absorbing the excess glucose in your body. The excess sugar, which the kidney cannot store is excreted out of your body. This makes you urinate frequently. Due to frequent urination the body gets dehydrated which makes you feel thirsty more often.
  4. Blurred vision: Due to the high level of glucose in your body tissues gets pulled away from the lens of the eyes. This results in vision issues. If not treated on time, it may even lead to blindness.
  5. Increased fatigue: The cells in your body might not get enough energy either due to absence or improper functioning of insulin in your blood. This makes you restless more often and you may even feel too weak to do your regular activities.

If you notice any of these signs, get the level of sugar in your checked and take the required remedies. It is good to get it treated as early as possible rather than facing immense trouble in future. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a endocrinologist and ask a free question.

For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in fat and high in fibre. Avoid bakery products. Avoid too much rice and potato. Avoid fried stuff. Avoid chocolate, cakes, ice cream, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat lots of vegetables. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week. Insulin will work better if taken in combination with diet and exercise. Medication will depend on your blood sugar level.

Height is usually always dominated by genetics. How short are your parents? if you are their size or slightly taller then them, chances are you will not grow very much more. There are no amazing magic ways to get taller. Get lots of nutrition and calcium. Get tons of calcium. Bigger bones means bigger you. Work out and play sports alot. Also greatly emphasize stretching. Posture is also important. Walk as tall and as straight as possible and over time this will add a handful of centimetres to your height. Take ashwagandha powder 2-2 tsf twice a day and lakshadi guggul 1-1 tab twice a day with warm water.

Hello lybrate-user To stop hair fall yes you can use onion juice or fenugreek paste also on your scalp twice a week for 15 to 20 min, or triphala pwder mix with curd apply on your scalp start taking saptamrit lauh 2 tab bd with water after meal. Include at least 50 gm paneer daily in your diet drink plenty amount of water at least 10--12 glasses per day. Last but not the least check your thyroid profile as it may be the reason of hair fall.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Since you have a travelling job. You should be careful to have properly sterilised clean water. Food should be simple and easily digestible to the extent possible like not spicy or fried. Avoid tobacco and alcohol. Eating in time adequate rest more fruits. You may be having acidity for which you may require tablets like ranitidine for abot 2 - 4 weeks. If no relief see a general physician.

your bmi (29.47 kg/m2) suggests you are excessively over weight. Main reason for this is inactivity and improper diet. If you want reduce weight then you have to first reduce your present food intake by at least 20 to 25 %, avoid deep fried foods completely, use whole grain flour for breads (rotis), no junk or processed food, plenty of green vegetables (avoiding cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and mustard, soya and soya containing foods), increase fiber intake. Plus exercise for at least 1 h a day, preferably brisk walking. Periodically check thyroid levels.

Psychologist is a behavioural therapist and psychiatrist is medical doctor in related to psychiatric disorders. In your case psychologist is the best person. There is no need of medication. Psychiatry medicine has side effects. There is no side effects of psychological counselling. You can continue your regular work after consultation of psychologist. There is no other problems. You need behaviour therapy and lifestyle modification and psychotherapy. Better to consult a very good psychologist. Please do go medicine. It leads to some other problems. Ok best of luck. I always develop a lot of pimples on my face even if I am maintaining good diet. Any reason why I also have oily skin.

Diet has only a minor role in pimple formation. Its basically a problem related to the oil glands which is contriolled by hormones. So it can persist for few years. So consult a skin doc and get it treated properly.

I am 24 years old, I loose round 13 kg weight within 1 years 2 months, since 6 months I tried to loss more weight but I cant loss 100 grams weights, and now I feel very weak,

Your body has plateaued. Hopefully the loss is not muscle loss. If you have tried weight loss by crashing intake without professional advice chances are you have lost on a lot of nutrients too. You need a professional intervention to break the plateau and replenish lost nutrient stores. Till then try the following - eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips. I am sure it will at least help you with initial fat loss.

You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Use home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity.

If this problem of menses occurred for the first time then there is no need to worry. If this is happening again and again, then she would benefit by getting an ultrasound done to rule out any cause for the current problem which could be pcod. Sometimes because of the stress or hormonal changes also women can get menses like this, which does not require any kind of treatment and will be relieved automatically in future. If there is only mild deviation from normal cycles then also no treatment or tests required.

Fever with body pain and joint pain are few symptoms of dengue and to be confirmed by a blood test and See to it that there is no stagnation of water in your house and nearby locality for more than seven days because these are the breeding grounds for mosquitoes

Dear excessive weight gain occurs only when calories intake are more than calories burnt, It can put a person at risk of thyroid disease, diabetes , kidney problems, arthritis etc... Dear to decrease weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach daily. 3. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 4. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 5. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 5 min per asana. 6. Do brisk walk early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 7. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 8. Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice. 9. Drink three litres of water daily
