Both medicines should not be used either individual or in combination. Paracetamol is safer. These medicines are not useful in cough or cold unless there is fever.

Whch oil should be used to massage the new borns specially during this weather ?

It's traditional to massage a baby before his bath. In many families, oils are preferred over creams and lotions for this purpose. Vegetable get absorbed quickly and digest easily if your baby sucks his oil-smeared thumb. If you're using a vegetable oil, cold pressed, unrefined oils are best suited for massage Coconut oil is believed to be a good choice in the hot summer months. It is easily available and has a cooling effect on the body. sesame oil (til ka tel) is a popular alternative in many regions. Although olive oil and almond oil are more expensive than vegetable oils, they work well in hot or cold weather. Mustard oil is preferred for giving massages in cold weather as it warms the body.

There r some galactogauges available like satavary, which you can take to increase the milk production. If the child is still not getting enough milk then you have to give him formula milk.

My Daughter 19 months old, started high fever for 101 degree two days ago. Consulted Paediatrician and Medication started with P125, Sinarest (both at different time) levolin and Fabilac. But she is getting high fever often with a light shiver, body get high heat but no all over, below abdomen it is chill, it varies in upper body. No Diarrhoea, Vomit (only water) was twice at the time of shiver. Within 2 hours she is normal. PD says it would be there till Friday. But doubt about the high fever but temperature varies, esp head get too high temp and her eyes blinks erratically. Is it a viral fever or anything else.

Generally a viral fever may last upto 4 - 5 days and in rare cases can last upto a week also, keep giving paracetamol evry 4-6 hours so that temperature is under control. If fever goes beyond 4-5 days you can get few blood test done to rule out any bacterial infection, if its bacterial infection, need to start on course of antibiotics which your pd will prescribe accordingly.

If my child has a fever, can I give them paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time?

You can, but I suggest give paracetamol 1st, then if it doesn't subside in a hours time, give ibuprofe. Make sure you are not over dosing your child.

My 3 week old baby falls asleep during feedings and just won't burp. I hold him upright for up to half an hour while patting her back pretty well. He is drinking both formula and breast milk (both from the bottle). At times he will burp twice and I lay her down, he gets uncomfortable and cries a little, I pick her up and he burps again. I have to do this every 5 to 10 minutes sometimes. Often he will demand more milk when he looks uncomfortable from what seems like gas as he does pass gas after squirming and crying some. Tell me what to do. ?

Small babies should be given only breast milk. They get uncomfortable due to gas, but feel good after burping or passing wind. If your child cries it doesn't mean he is demanding feed. Overfeeding usually causes the problems you are describing. Stop formula, and give only breast milk when the earlier feed you have given is likely to be digested. It usually takes 2 hours for that.

If you have started powdered milk and avoiding your feed, stop powered milk and give exclusive breastfeeding. If potty is normal and baby taking feed normally with gaining wt approximately 30 gm per day, there is no cause of worry and do not give bonison or like.

Lybrate-user ji base kamjor h to uska best solution to wahi h ki surgery karke (cochlear implant) uske baad speech therapy karwana. Paar hann cost bahat jyada h. Abhi kaphi jyada high power hearing aids ate hein computer programming karke lagao bachi ko aur jitni jaldi speech therapy suru karwao. Kaam me kam ho jaega. Delay mat karo. Aur chalne khada hone ki prblm ke lie ek baar physiotherapist se baat karlo.

Dear lybrate user, your son might be having some health issues. There can be many reasons for not having solid food. If he is having any difficulty in digesting the food, then he will not be hungry also. Please do not force him to eat. Kindly take him to a doctor. If there is no physical problem, then you might have to look into his emotional needs. Talk to him about himself, school, his friends, his games, hobbies etc. If he is not happy about something, he will be able to share that with you, which ultimately will lift up his mood and make him more active and energetic and then he might start having food on his own. Pursuade him to play physical (not computer games) games of his choice.

Best solution is that DON'T FORCE her to eat and leave her on her own liberty to choose food of her liking available at home. Baby needs change in variety of food of her/ his liking. Avoid toffee, cold drinks n junk food etc.

Lybrate-user hope you giving breast feeding to your child too. If yes then give your child total breast feed because the more you give the more you will have. If not then of course you can give foumula feed. And ofcorse your child is 5 months plus you can add rice water orally and after aweek add daal water keep the lower part of the baby dry. If rash is more then you can apply nappy happy or any other good oinment over the rash is it ok anything else.

If she has started passing urine after a period of 1 to 2 years of dry bed after the age of 4 to 5 years, get her urine checked. Do not harass, humiliate or punish her. Just console her. Try to get her awake about 1 and 1/2 hour after sleep to go for urination which is usual time of bed wetting.Bed wetting usually occurs once in a night.
