After our marriage, Last Thursday night (25 feb) we do first successful intercourse Till her periods are not started normally her date is 4-5.. So tell me any chances to pregnancy Also tell some another details related pregnancy from intercourse.

Pregnancy can occur in any cycle with intercourse without using any contraceptive method. More so if intercourse happens around ovulation (coming out of ovum from ovary) which is in middle part of cycle in a woman having regular cycles of 28-30 days. If period is missed one can do urine pregnancy test or meet gynaecologist.

Why Gynaecologic Laparoscopy Makes Women Smile While in Pain

M.R.C.O.G. (LONDON) Gold Medalist, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology , MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Why Gynaecologic Laparoscopy Makes Women Smile While in Pain

Why is Gynaecologic Laparoscopy so Revolutionary?

Designed to enable a surgeon to look into a woman’s pelvic or abdominal area for diagnosis or treatment, gynaecologic laparoscopy is fast gaining popularity as a minimally invasive procedure for a host of female reproductive health problems. This surgery is also commonly known as keyhole surgery.

In recent times, this form of surgery has begun to replace the conventional open surgery, as the latter poses disadvantages like greater blood loss or infection.

Depending on the purpose of the surgery, Gynaecologic Laparoscopy involves the making of one or more very small incisions (about 5mm in length) in the area that must be treated. One of the incision(or cut)s is used by the surgeon to insert a laparoscope (a lighted telescope) into your abdomen for seeing the insides of your cavity. Many surgical procedures, which were performed by making large abdominal incisions, are now being done using laparoscopy.

What are problems this surgical procedure is beneficial for?

The various health problems that it can be used to diagnose, treat or both are:

  1. Endometriosis (a condition that is characterised by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus)
  2. Ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy wherein the foetus develops in the fallopian tube instead of the womb)
  3. Sterilisation (blocking of your fallopian tubes through surgery to prevent future pregnancy)
  4. Ovarian cysts (fluid-filled sacs that develop on the surface or inside an ovary)
  5. Removal of womb, also known as hysterectomy
  6. Removal of ovaries
  7. Fibroids (non-cancerous growths within or on the surface of the uterus)
  8. Gynaecologic cancers such as ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and so on
  9. Infertility
  10. Pelvic pain

What are the benefits you can expect from gynaecologic laparoscopy as opposed to open surgery?

  1. It is no more required to make large abdominal cuts that are required in traditional surgery, thereby reducing your recovery time
  2. You suffer from less pain and scarring as the incisions made are much smaller
  3. A faster return to your normal routine, usually within a few weeks
  4. Serious complications arising from this form of surgery are very rare

Hello doctor. I am a Lybrate user and my age is 24 year old. I am trying to conceive since last 6 month and every month after periods (my periods usually last for 5 to 6 days with proper bleeding) on 9th or 10th day of periods I am getting vaginal infection for 3-4 day. I feel itching on that area and white cottage cheese like discharge. I also consulted with doctor and used canesten cream and canesten vaginal tablets for 6 days and that time infection gone and every month after periods it come back. Please let me know any solution. Maybe this can be a reason to delayed pregnancy.

It depends on number of other factors like presenting part of each, associated bp, high sugar, growth of both, due date, past obstetric history. Let obstetrician concerned decide if at all take second opinion by consulting other obstetrician who can go through all details and can examine patient.

There are v little awareness about female masterbation. Yes, an woman can masterbate to get sexual pleasure. She should be concern about the following things 1- infection- don't use any object not ment for this. Clean wash your hand before the act. Vaginal tract is v prone to infection. Try to go to toilet after the act. 2-injury- don't get so excited or use any hard/sharp object. Vaginal wall is delicate inside- you may bleed. 3-frequency- doing daily or making it a habit is bad for future sexual health. 2-3 per month is ok.

Hello doctor. I am married.I have irregular period I cant count day properly so problem in conceiving.
Continue eltroxine. You have to regularize cycle by controlling thyroid and also by detecting whether there are any other hormonal problems. If needed, we have to treat the hormonal problems before giving you drugs for conception.
