You should control your fatty diet and exercise regularly. These figures certainly indicate you are more prone for clotting in coronary arteries.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. Hi. This is a really very good approach. Appreciate it. Quit smoking is of utmost importance for your uncle. But at the same time, breathing difficulty and chest pain in a patient with chronic smoking habit also requires cardiologist (hear doctor) consultation. So kindly consider doing ecg, 2d echo and other tests as your town cardiologist feels necessary. Nicotine chewing gums are good to help quit smoking. Take care.

What is low blood pressure (hypotension)?

Diploma in Diabetology, Master of Hospital Administration, MBBS

Low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, is where blood pressure in your arteries is abnormally low. Naturally low blood pressure is unlikely to cause any symptoms and is normally nothing to worry about. But if your blood pressure drops too low, it can restrict the amount of blood flowing to your brain and other vital organs, which can cause unsteadiness, dizziness or fainting.

Dear, *high blood pressure is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressures. *chew 2-3 raw garlic cloves everyday, garlic slows down the pulse rate and smoothens the heart's rhythm. *nutrition, exercise, breathing exercises (pranayama), yoga, meditation, behavioral modification along with various herbs and minerals are prescribed. *ayurvedic diet for hypertension: avoid meat, eggs and salt, reduce protein intake, follow the following vegetarian diet: vegetables: garlic, lemon, parsley, fruits: indian gooseberry, grape fruuit, watermelon, dairy: milk, cottage cheese, clarified butter. Limit sodium in the diet. Cigarette smokers tend to have high blood pressure. Nicotine increases the resting heart rate and increases the release of the adrenaline correct diet and control weight. One important thing to do is lose any excess amount of body fat. One of the good reasons to be slim (lean) is to keep your blood pressure low, losing body fat will lower the pressure *life style: *regular exercise is one of the best ways to lower blood pressure. Exercise has to be of right kind. A good exercise programme, particularly endurance exercises such as jogging or athletics, will cause the peripheral resistance to decrease. Exercise helps to eliminate body fat, lower total cholesterol and raise hdl cholesterol that prevents fatty - cholesterol deposits. According to ayurveda exercise improves the body, depletes excess fats, brings lightness of the body. *yoga and breath therapy, *meditating and practicing breathing exercises regularly are essential to establishing a new relaxation response in place of the hypertensive reflex to stress.

Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

Congestive Heart Failure - Factors that Make it Fatal

Our survival is solely reliant on the working of the heart. It is this that makes the prospect of a heart failure so fatal and so terrifying. Notwithstanding what the heart evokes, a heart failure is not indicative of a defunct heart; but only a situation when the heart pumps weaker than what is generally deemed as natural. Consequently, the blood flows at a slower rate to the heart and the body that in turn increases pressure in the heart. The oxygen that is produced by the heart in such a scenario is scanty and insufficient for the body.

body responds with its own defense mechanism, as the heart, in an attempt to hold more blood, stretches its chambers. Though this strenuous effort may keep the blood moving, it would gradually and inevitably weary the heart with all the effort. Subsequently, the kidney responds by retaining more salt and fluid in the body. These fluids may accumulate in different parts of the body, mainly in the legs, feet, ankles leading to congestion in the body. This very condition in medical terminology is referred to as congestive heart failure.

Different causes can contribute to the onset of such a fatal condition. Some of them are

Coronary artery disease: In such a condition, the arteries supply insufficient amount of oxygen and blood to the heart. Subsequently, the heart receives scanty amount of nutrients and oxygen.
Heart attack: The sudden, unanticipated blockage of the coronary artery and the ensuing stoppage of the flow of the blood lead to a heart attack. The heart muscles are damaged in such a case and prevent the proper functioning.
Diseases: Though the term may be generic and over expansive, most of the ailments which people suffer from tend to manifest themselves by posing a potential threat to the functioning of the heart. A high blood pressure, kidney disease, even a thyroid disease can cause congestive heart failure.
Every disorder is preceded by certain symptoms, and congestive heart failure is no different. Some of them are

Fatigue: This is one of the most perceptible symptoms of congestive heart failure. One of the earliest premonitions of an impending heart failure is a nagging sense of weariness and lethargy.
Swelling: As the condition is characterized by accumulation and build-up of fluids in various part of the body, swelling is an inevitable symptom of this condition and a clear indication of the ailment.

Hypertension Diet Drugs do not remove the cause, nor do they cure the condition. All drugs against hypertension without exception, are toxic and have distressing side-effects. The fast way to cure hypertension is to eliminate the poisons from the system, which cause it. Persons with high blood pressure should always follow a well-balanced routine of proper diet, exercise and rest. Meat and eggs cause blood pressure to rise more than any other food. The pressure is lowered and blood clotting diminished by taking a diet with a higher fruit content, lower protein and non-flesh diet. A natural diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, instead of a traditional diet, is helpful in getting rid of the poisons from the body. A hypertension patient should start the process of healing by living on an all¬ fruit diet for at least a week, and take fruits at five-hourly intervals, thrice a day. He should take juicy fruits such as oranges, apples, pears, mangoes, guavas, pineapples and grapes. Milk may be taken after a week of a diet of fruits only. The milk should be fresh and boiled only once. The patient can be permitted cereals in the diet after two weeks. Vegetables are also good for a patient of hypertension. They should preferably be taken raw. If they are cooked, it could be ensured that their natural goodness is not destroyed in the process of cooking. Vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomato, onion, radish, cabbage and spinach are best taken in their raw form. They may be cut into small pieces and sprinkled with a little salt and the juice of a lemon added to them so as to make them more palatable. The intake of salt should be restricted; in any case it should not be taken more than four grams or half a teaspoon per day. Baking powder containing sodium carbonate should also be avoided. Garlic is regarded as one of the most effective remedies to lower blood pressure. The pressure and tension are reduced because it has the power to ease the spasm of the small arteries. Garlic also slows the pulse and modifies the heart rhythm besides relieving the symptoms of dizziness Numbness shortness of breath and the formation of gas within the digestive tract. The average dosage •should be two to three capsules a day to make a dent in the blood pressure. There I an important relation between dietary calcium and potassium and hypertension. It is found that people who take potassium rich diets have a low incidence of hypertension even it they do not control their salt-intake. They have also found that people with hypertension do not seem to get much calcium in the form of dairy products. The two essentia1 nutrients seem to' help the body throw off excess sodium and are involved in important functions which control the working of the vascular system. Potassium is found in abundance in fruits and vegetables and calcium in dairy products. The patient of hypertension should follow a plan of a well-balanced diet in which the constituents of food should be approximately in the following proportion: carbohydrate twenty per cent protein ten to fifteen percent fat five per cent and fruits and vegetables sixty to sixty-five per cent. In this plan one main meal should be based on raw foods while the second main meal may consist of cooked foods. Meals should be taken slowly and in a relaxed atmosphere. Food should be well masticated as the process of digestion begins in the mouth. The dinner should not normally be taken late. TREATMENT CHART FOR HYPERTENSION A - DIET I. Juice diet for 5 days. Use warm water enema daily during this period. II. All-fruit diet for further 5 days, with three meals a day at five-hourly intervals. III. Thereafter, adopt the following diet: - 1. Early Morning: A glass of lukewarm water mixed with the juice of half a lime. 2. Breakfast: Fruits and skimmed milk. 3. Mid-morning: Coconut water. 4. Lunch: Steamed vegetables, whole-wheat wheat tortilla or brown rice and a glass of buttermilk. 5. Mid-afternoon: A glass of carrot juice or orange juice. 6. Dinner: Salad of raw vegetables, green gram sprouts and vegetable soup. AVOID: Meats, sugar, white flour, tea, coffee, condiments, pickles fried foods, and products made from sugar and white flour. Important: Restrict the intake of salt and use liberally garlic and indian gooseberry. B - OTHER MEASURES 1. Exercise, especially brisk walking and yoga asanas like pavanmuktasana, uttanpadasana and shavasana. 2. Hot foot immersion in case of high blood pressure accompanied with headache.
