CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
To keep serum creatinine in check if one has diabetes and hypertension both should be controlled well. Secondly avoid excess exercise, high sodium intake, high protein intake, limit potassium intake, avoid phosphorous containing foods, take enough liquids and green tea is also good.

In many cases, simple changes in your diet like taking high fibre foods and lifestyle can provide relief from irritable bowel syndrome. Although your body may not respond immediately to these changes, your goal is to find long-term, not temporary, solutions. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problemsdo reply back for medications. Being also a general physician, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary tips taking into account patient preferences.

I have stone in my left kidney so give me proper solution that how it exit with out surgery?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I have stone in my left kidney so give me proper solution that how it exit with out surgery?
Hi, for renal-stone less than 6-7mm, do take homoeopathic medicine - berberis vulgaris q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 4 weeks. Prevention: prevention of kidney stones may include a combination of lifestyle changes and medications. Lifestyle changes you may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. 1 eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, restrict foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, bhindi (okra), spinach, swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people. Revert me back. For large stones: as a large kidney stone can move from the kidney and become lodged inside the ureter, which can block the flow of urine, as well as cause a sharp cramp in the back, side, or lower abdomen. The affected kidney could then develop hydronephrosis, should a part of the kidney become swollen due to blocked flow of urine. Kidney stones can cause permanent kidney damage. Stones also increase the risk of urinary and kidney infection, which can result in germs spreading into the bloodstream. Treating large kidney stones: if a kidney stone is too big to be passed naturally (6-7mm in diameter or larger), you may need to have treatment to remove it another way. This could include: extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (eswl) ureteroscopy percutaneous nephrolithotomy (pcnl) open surgery.

I have problem in urination, the force is not normal. It gives mild pain while urinating.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , 1. Most common cause of lack of force in urination and mild pain would be insufficient fluid intake leading small quantity of urine resulting in lack of force and the colour of urine would give some indication Fluid intake should be increased to such an extent that the colour of urine is either watery or straw coloured. 2.Constipation and anal fissure can also produce less force because of spam of the sphincter muscle. 3.Increased frequency of urination can also result in less force because of insufficient quantity 4If there is stone in urinary especially lower tract then also force can be less. 5.Similarly infection in urine can also decrease force. 6. Some form of obstruction in urinary passage If increased fluid intake and treating constipation does not solve your problem then you need to undergo full workup by urine examination, sonography with post void film and proceed from then on. Dr. Kiran Mehta.

Homeopathic remedies for high uric acid provide an excellent cure. Treatment of elevated uric acid levels with homeopathic remedies not only lowers the levels but also treats body’s defective tendency to hold  excess of uric acid. Homeopathic remedies also treat the body’s metabolic process which handles purines (kind of protein which ends up as uric acid after the body processes it. These are the top homeopathic medicines for elevated uric acid levels that I have found to be very effective colchi, ledum, guaicum, benzoic acid, lithium etc Tips for increased uric acid levels and gout Watch your weight. Try to lose weight slowly. Eat fresh fruit, vegetables, whole wheat products and some pulses (high in purine) every day. Enjoy low-fat milk and dairy products daily. Keep an eye on the purine content of food. Avoid offal, shellfish and crustaceans and tinned fish such as sardines in oil. Eat no more than 100g of meat, sausages, fish and poultry a day. Drink alcohol only occasionally, as it affects the elimination of uric acid. Eat low-fat food. The consumption of high-fat foods encourages weight gain. Drink at least two litres of low-calorie fluids a day. Recommended fluids are water, tea and fruit juice. .consult me by clicking on consult option for homoepathic treatment without side effects.

Hi I have high blood pressure and diabetes as well. Though both ate under control but since last few days I am having some problem with urine. Every time I need to put extra pressure to do the urine. I am 70 years old. Please suggest.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , as you are 70 years old first thing that comes to mind is enlarged prostate. Do you have get up to pass urine during night? if. Secondly, as summer has set in do you drink enough water? if urine output drops in summer you might have to strain a bit to pass urine. Next point is: are you constipated? is your stool hard? so increase your fluid intake, if you are passing hard stools then avoid constipation. If you have nocturia then consider prostate problem and urine examination. If it shows that you are retaining urine after passing urine medical treatment like alpha blockers should be considered. Dr. Kiran mehta.

I have kidney stone please guide me.

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
I have kidney stone please guide me.
What is the size of the stones? stones treatment depends on the types and size of stone, most kidney stones won't require invasive procedures. You may be able to pass a small stone by: drinking water. Drinking as much as 2 to 3 quarts (1.9 to 2.8 liters) a day may help flush out your urinary system. Unless doctor tells you otherwise, drink enough fluid mostly water to produce clear or nearly clear urine. Passing a small stone can cause some discomfort. To relieve mild pain, according to your medical history one may prescribe pain relievers.

She seems to have problems connected with Liver , May be gall bladder and also kidney For proper diagnosis and further management she will have to go to a major well equipped hospital for detail examination by a Consultant Physician / Surgeon and subjected to Biochemical investigations of blood / urine / X ray and Ultrasound including ECG and ECHO if necessary Once all reports are available doctors can decide taking her age into consideration. A Family Physician if avialable for a home visit can give better guidance

I don't think you need to take three litres of fluids orally. Even then, please consult a physician or a nephrologist to rule out kidney pathology.

Liver disease can be inherited (genetic) or caused by a variety of factors that damage the liver, such as viruses and alcohol use. Obesity is also associated with liver damage. Over time, damage to the liver results in scarring (cirrhosis), which can lead to many complications. Kidney stones form when the kidneys are not able to process toxins efficiently. Specifically, a crystallization of unprocessed minerals builds up. Kidney stones cause pain and possible blockage of urine flow. Tips to manage the condition drink plenty of water. Lower sodium intake. Exercise regularly to improve digestion. Light food intake recommended. Intake of makani at regular intervals. Rx kalamegha strong 10 ml twice a day after dilution a/f cyston tab 2_0_2a/ f for 3 weeks. After tests should be repeated.
