I am a medical student my friend asked me about his problem that he has been masturbation since seven years from the past three months while masturbation he is having some pain in his right leg and sometimes hand he has a fear that he will get nervous weakness and paralysis. Can you help me to treat him.

MBBS
General Physician,
Mastrubation can not lead to paralysis. Due to excessive mastrubation and excessive stroking may give you slight pain in penis, testies. Give him simple analgesics and anxiolytics with some multivitamins.

Dear lybrate-user, the pattern of pain you r telling cud be of sciatica. But no worries ayuvreda and panchakarma has remedy for you. Get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. In pregnancy you should take as little medicine as possible. Only painkiller safe in pregnancy is paracetamol (crocin). Don't take any other painkillers as they harm the baby. You should try simple tips to avoid headache and start preventive medicine for migraine after baby is delivered. Follow these lifestyle changes to avoid headache 1. Maintain regular sleep wake cycle, even on holiday's. 2. Don't skip meals. Take regular healthy diet with adequate fluids 3. Do not consume excess caffeine / carbohydrates / alcohol or smoke. 4. Exercise daily (aerobics and cardiovascular) 5. Identify your headache trigger and try to avoid it. 6. Perform pranayam every morning.
