For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and take Tablet folvite 5mg once a day for six months and tablet vitamin D3 60000iu once a week for six months and Take a shower at bedtime for a peaceful sleep

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Standing calf stretch stand away from a wall and. Put your fight foot behind you and be sure your toes are facing forward. Lean forward at the ankle while bending the right knee and keeping your heel on the ground. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 10 times a twice a day.

I am 23 years old man. I am un married I am suffrng from leg elbow pain. How could I get relief from this ?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

My liver is mild enlarge with moderately and diffusers increased echogenecity without any focal lesion. Renal caliectasis with 28ml of post void residual urine. Mild hepatomegaly with moderate splenomegaly. Is any major problems, what should I do?

You are having hepato- spleenomegaly. Which can be due to so many causes. You should consult doctor urgently. Very good medicines for caliectasis available now. You should get your ultrasound done first and then consult doctor.

Hi sir I am suffering from low back pain from last 2 moths , I am enable to sit sleep and bend, not even wash room too please suggest me.

Further details of your back pain is needed to give a treatment plan according to diagnosis. Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. Follow these to get relief. 1. Take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen round the clock for pain relief 2.Take rest for 3 to 4 days but avoid total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily once pain is relieved. 5.Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 6. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. While sleeping on sides keep pillow between knees. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling , numbness or weakness, consult immediately. If problem persists you will need to undergo MRI of lumbosacral spine. For further queries consult again.

I have pain in foot when walk. It is moderate for the time being. Generally when I wake up in morning, I feel major pain in foot. Later on after a hour or so, it get reduced and feel normal the day. However, pain become unbearable if I walk and roam around much such as a mall visit etc. Winter were comfortable while the same is back in summer. I got all body test done and got normal report. Please suggest.

There are several causes for pain in foot region, but you will have to tell me which part of the foot is involved whether it is toes, midfoot or around the heel region as there are different causes for all of them. You should visit to orthopedic doctor for proper investigation for the cause of trouble and specific treatment. Maintain right posture of the body because most of the time cause of backache is postural. Eat calcium rich food. Avoid forward bending and overexertion of the spines. Rest on firm mattress. Do mild and bearable exercise of back.

I am 25 years old male but I have still back ache pain for 2 months what should I do.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT can give you some relief . -A physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them.

Knock knee is not due to heavy thighs but due to abnormal bend in the knees. People with knock knee try to keep their legs straight, due to which the thighs touch and cause discomfort. It is possible to measure the exact degree of bend in knock knee. If it is more than the acceptable range then the bend is usually corrected surgically which gives a lifetime relief. Ignoring knock knee can be dangerous as it can lead to premature degeneration and failure of the knees.

I am suffering from gout due to high level of uric acid deposition in my big toe which results in severe pain in toe and toe thumbs. I have been suffering since last 10 years from this, I have tried allopathy and homeopathy but they yielded no permanent result. Please suggest a remedy.

Hi, Most of the time, a high uric acid level occurs when your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid efficiently. Things that may cause this slow-down in the removal of uric acid include rich foods, being overweight, having diabetes, taking certain diuretics (sometimes called water pills) and drinking too much alcohol. Other less common causes are a diet high in purine-containing items or your body producing too much uric acid. Prevention:- -Increase your intake of fibre-rich diet. -Olive oil helps you avoid the production of excess uric acid. -Regular intake of 500 mg of vitamin C will decrease your uric acid levels in a month or two. -Avoid bakery products. -Increase intake of antioxidant-rich foods like fruits and vegetables. -Drink a minimum of 3 and 1/2 liters of water daily. Water is a medium that aids the kidney to 'strain' the impurities from your body. -Limit meat, poultry and fish - animal proteins are high in purine and this will result in high uric acid levels in the body. -Limit or avoid alcohol.
