I am 45 year old female and a problem of backache for last two months? What should I do.

I am 45 year old female and a problem of backache for last two months? What should I do.
Back pain can result from bad posture, a sudden jerky movement, a lumpy mattress or poor lifting techniques. It can also be caused by injury in a work place, by a sports accident or by muscular spasm. There are also many diseases and pathological conditions that can lead to back pain. These include abdominal or pelvic disease, anxiety, arthritis, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, dermatological problems, kidney disease, rheumatic conditions, tumours and scoliosis. Our modern, sedentary lifestyles have a profound effect on the development of back pain; indeed one of the most effective ways of preventing it is simply to stay active. An average adult in the India spends at least two hours a day in front of a computer screen or television set, and back problems can be triggered if they don’t sit properly. In an age of mobile phones and computer games, such troubles are increasingly inflicting children of school age as well. Top tips for back care: For back pain, better to see your Doctor sooner than later. Take regular exercise – your Doctor can say what’s right for you. Hours in one position can cause problems – avoid computer ‘hump’. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch. Pace yourself with heavy work such as gardening – don’t risk a disc! Watch children’s posture – they shouldn’t carry bags on one shoulder or spend too long at a computer without breaks. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly small children and shopping. Your bed could be part of the problem. Seek Doctor advice on choosing a new one. Take a hot bath or shower, soaking in a hot tub, or using a heating pad, hot water bottle, or heat wrap that provides continuous, low-level heat are all ways to bring healing warmth to your lower back.

The risks of this type of stem cell donation are minimal. Before the donation, you'll get injections of a medicine that increases the number of stem cells in your blood. This medicine can cause side effects, such as bone pain, muscle aches, headache, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Hi, I am 34 year old at present I am suffering from the spinal fracture. MRI cervical spine-pvid at c5-c6 level with focal chord changes. Doctor suggested for surgery on priority I want to know whether is it curable through any medicine or physiotherapies. Or I should go for the surgery.

Hi there, In my opinion surgery is the last step to go through for any condition. Mainly it's preferred at last stage of the condition when no treatment works. As you said you got fractured spine give it some time to heal and go to nearest physiotherapist to help with any symptoms occurring because of PIVD. Symptoms can be pain, tingling sensation from your back towards hip, tenderness and painful spine movements. If you don't have such symptoms you will be going through some low back strengthening exercises along with abdominal exercises. But only after hearing of your fracture. At home you can use hot pack for 15 minutes and avoid painful movements. If possible share your MRI scans.

This is because your routine has changed and I assume your eating habits as well. Eat in small portions throughout the day instead of having your food once. Consume around 5 to 6 small meals rather than 2 complete meal. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Avoid oily, spicy, fried, salty food.
