I have problem with my prostate. I am facing problem with my urine. I have take many treatment with doctors but no relief.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
Prostatitis treatments vary depending on the underlying cause. They can include: Antibiotics. This is the most commonly prescribed treatment for prostatitis. Your doctor will base the choice of medication on the type of bacteria that may be causing your infection. If you have severe symptoms, you may need intravenous (IV) antibiotics. You'll likely need to take oral antibiotics for four to six weeks but may need longer treatment for chronic or recurring prostatitis. Alpha blockers. These medications help relax the bladder neck and the muscle fibers where your prostate joins your bladder. This treatment may lessen symptoms, such as painful urination. Anti-inflammatory agents. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may make you more comfortable. Prostate massage. This is done by your physician using a lubricated, gloved finger — a procedure similar to a digital rectal exam. It may provide some symptom relief, but doctors disagree about how effective it is. Other treatments. Other potential treatments for prostatitis are being studied. These treatments include heat therapy with a microwave device and drugs based on certain plant extracts

Did You Know GERD Is More Than Heartburn?

BAMS, MD (Panchkarma)
Ayurveda, Mumbai
Did You Know GERD Is More Than Heartburn?

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive disease. GERD occurs when stomach acid or occasionally, stomach content, flows back into your food pipe (esophagus). The backwash (reflux) irritates the lining of your esophagus and causes GERD.

Both acid reflux and heartburn are common digestive conditions that many people experience from time to time. When these signs and symptoms occur at least twice each week or interfere with your daily life, or when your doctor can see damage to your esophagus, you may be diagnosed with GERD.

Complications associated with GERD:
Over time, chronic inflammation in your esophagus can lead to complications, including:

  1. Narrowing of the esophagus (esophageal stricture): Damage to cells in the lower esophagus from acid exposure leads to formation of scar tissue. The scar tissue narrows the food pathway, causing difficulty swallowing.
  2. An open sore in the esophagus (esophageal ulcer): Stomach acid can severely erode tissues in the esophagus, causing an open sore to form. The esophageal ulcer may bleed, cause pain and make swallowing difficult.
  3. Precancerous changes to the esophagus (Barrett's esophagus): In Barrett's esophagus, the tissue lining the lower esophagus changes. These changes are associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer. The risk of cancer is low, but your doctor will likely recommend regular endoscopy exams to look for early warning signs of esophageal cancer.

Tips to Manage GERD:

  1. Maintain a healthy weight: Excess pounds put pressure on your abdomen, pushing up your stomach and causing acid to back up into your esophagus. If your weight is healthy, work to maintain it. If you are overweight or obese, work to slowly lose weight - no more than 1 or 2 pounds (0.5 to 1 kilogram) a week. Ask your doctor for help in devising a weight-loss strategy that will work for you.
  2. Avoid tight-fitting clothing: Clothes that fit tightly around your waist put pressure on your abdomen and the lower esophageal sphincter.
  3. Avoid foods and drinks that trigger heartburn: Everyone has specific triggers. Common triggers such as fatty or fried foods, tomato sauce, alcohol, chocolate, mint, garlic, onion, and caffeine may make heartburn worse. Avoid foods you know will trigger your heartburn.
  4. Eat smaller meals: Avoid overeating by eating smaller meals.
  5. Elevate the head of your bed: If you regularly experience heartburn at night or while trying to sleep, put gravity to work for you. Elevate your bed
  6. Don't smoke: Smoking decreases the lower esophageal sphincter's ability to function properly.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a specilized gastroenterologist and ask a free question.

Hi, Do kegel exercise: Locate the right muscles Insert a finger inside your anus and squeeze the surrounding muscles. You can feel the PC muscle tighten or move upward when you contract it. Then, relax your muscles and feel your pelvic floor return to the starting position. Also try to stop the flow of urine when you urinate. Don’t do this on an extremely full bladder. Practice Makes Perfect Contract your pelvic floor muscles, hold the contraction for five seconds, and then relax for five seconds. Practice it five to six times in a row. Work up to keeping the muscles contracted for ten seconds at a time, and then relax for another ten seconds between each contraction. Focus While Exercising To have a faster result in a shorter period of time, focus your mind on tightening your pelvic floor muscles only. Do not flex the muscles in your abdomen, thighs or buttocks. Breathe normally and avoid holding your breath. Repeat 3 times a day Practice at least three sets of ten repetitions a day. After a while, you’ll be able to exercise your PC muscles seamlessly. You’ll even be able to do them while doing your daily chores! There are other lifestyle changes and diet changes you can make which will help you. Counseling will also help you. Consult me for same. All the best.

Hello, excess of masturbation is definitely harmful for you and it is necessary to know its side effects. These are as follows:-1. Masturbation makes you weak, it spends more energy and burns your calorie 2. Masturbation creates nervousness and neurological problems 3. Masturbation is a main cause for erectile dysfunction. 4. Masturbation addicts you even if you taste it for one time. Controlling it is a very big menace. 5. Masturbation causes stress and strain in your mind and soul. 7. Masturbation also affects us psychologically; it creates depression after ejaculation and makes one to feel bad on his own. ***take staphysagria 200, 5 drops once in a week.*** tips to quit masturbation -pamper your hobbies by spending more time in doing what you like. Indulge in outdoor activities, adventure sports and other similar activities that can help you keep your mind off from masturbating. -avoid watching *p-o-r-n movies, sex magazines or any other form of sexual material. -try to have a busy and tiring schedule so that by the end of the day you can fall asleep early.

These days the latest study encourages having egg yolk (yellow portion) where as earlier doctors used to tell us to avoid it. We are in fix, Please advise whether to have it or to avoid it.

hello dinesh, Eggs are a great source of a complete high quality protein with few calories. One whole egg has 5.5 grams of protein in only 68 calories. Eggs contain choline, which is important, especially since our bodies can not produce enough of it. Without enough choline, you can also become deficient in another essential nutrient, folic acid.Let’s take a closer look at each. Egg whites are a low-calorie, fat-free food. They contain the bulk of the egg’s protein. The egg white contains about 4 grams of protein, and only 17 calories, whereas, Egg Yolks carry the cholesterol, the fat and saturated fat of the egg. However, what is often overlooked are the many nutrients that come with that, such as the fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids and other nutrients. One egg yolk has around 55 calories, 4.5 grams of total fat , 2.7 grams of protein. As you can see, the egg yolk has more actual nutrients, but in my opinion the entire egg gives the most complete nutrition.

Drinking lots of water and going to pee frequently is normal. Whereas, drinking less of water and feeling the urge to pee frequently is certainly abnormal. You can identify it on your own if you feel the pain or burning sensation while urinating with an immediate call to urinate. Sometimes, you may be infested with the pain in your back or pubic area. A tip for preventing exacerbating pain is kegel exercise. Kegel exercise is performed by repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles around the pelvis; this exercise strengthens the muscles around the bladder and urethra and prevents urinary incontinence and problems.
