Causes and Symptoms of Stress Urinary Incontinence

Causes and Symptoms of Stress Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is a common problem that afflicts many adults around the world. Stress related urinary incontinence is a fairly common problem that afflicts many as well. This form of incontinence is usually caused by physical activity, which exerts pressure on the bladder and may cause the leakage of small amounts of urine.

Triggers and Symptoms for stress urinary incontinence:
In terms of urinary problems, stress is used to describe physical problems in particular and not mental stress. So the triggers or risk factors of it could be any of the following:

  1. Exercise
  2. Jumping
  3. Sneezing
  4. Coughing
  5. Exercises
  6. Sexual activity

This form of urinary incontinence is very common in women who are older or have already been through menopause. It may also be common for women who have recently given birth or are pregnant. The urethra or the bladder may become prone to external stress and then involuntarily leak out some urine.

Causes:
The causes can be quite varied from patient to patient but are primarily attributed to the weakening of the pelvic muscles, bladder or the sphincter. If any of these muscles open involuntarily due to physical stress, it leads to urine leaking out. Some of the causes which may lead to this are:

  1. Pregnancy and childbirth: Pregnancy or childbirth related problems may cause damage to the urethra or sphincter during childbirth; leading to stress urinary incontinence.
  2. Surgery of the prostate: Another common problem, especially with men, is with surgical interventions to correct prostate problems.
  3. Menopause: Many older women often complain about stress incontinence after menopause due to the weakening of the muscles.
  4. Pelvic surgery: Any surgery to the pelvic area or illnesses which may cause the muscles to become relaxed or act involuntarily due to external stress, may cause incontinence.
  5. Weakening of the pelvic muscles: Certain illnesses may cause the pelvic muscles to become weak and thus cause the sphincter as well as the bladder to react involuntarily. UTIs or urinary tract infections have also been known to cause incontinence due to the same reason.
  6. Obesity: Obesity has been known to put stress on many of the bodily systems and it may affect the bladder and the urinary sphincters as well. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

We as life skills coaches don't prescribe ny medication, for that you need to consult a qualified physician, I think you should get a thorough body checkup done to rule out all probable symptoms. You also need to consult a qualified counsellor in your area and take their advice to get yourself released of all emotional trauma you hold within Symptoms suggests you are too much overworked and anxious You can engage yourself in some form of yoga or relaxation to take care of your stress and anxiety as apparently from your situation it seems you are very anxious. You should also share issues with close friends and pursue your hobbies to buildup your self esteem. Maybe gardening, writing, painting, music etc.

Hi. I'm having sex with my partner and I'm not lasting longer. It was like 1-2 mins. Every sex the longer that I can. And still my partner is not satisfied. I don't know what's wrong. Is this kind of health problem? What treatment that I need to do? Please reply ASAP. Thank you.

Hi. I'm having sex with my partner and I'm not lasting longer. It was like 1-2 mins. Every sex the longer that I can....
Spend more time on foreplay. Yes, it might make the intercourse-part a little shorter, but spending more time on foreplay so you’re more warmed up will extend the sex session on the whole, and make sure you're both satisfied. Have him masturbate beforehand. If you've seen There's Something About Mary, you know that having sex without masturbating is "like going out there with a loaded gun. Ejaculating an hour or two beforehand makes it harder for a man to come quickly. As Dr. Jane Greer, relationship expert and family therapist, puts it, "You can build up arousal again with slow and intimate foreplay with your partner, so the guy's excitement is initially satisfied and he can better pace himself and sync up with his partner's rhythm Try something new and out of the ordinary in bed. When you've been with the same partner for a while, your routine sex positions can make his body anticipate coming, and thus come a lot sooner. New positions and sensations will distract him and make him last longer. "The more awkward and unfamiliar, the better, says Greer. Try edging. When he's about to orgasm, have him stop and wait about a minute or so before going back at it. Everyone has an orgasmic point of no return Think of it like bending a hose in half to stop the flow of water, but definitely do not bend his penis in half under any circumstances. Just give it a firm grip. Have him do kegels, yoga, and pilates. All of these exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, which help him control orgasm spasms. (And yeah, dudes can do kegels too). Try perpendicular sex positions. This is technically an outercourse position, but it's a way to avoid the most sensitive areas of the penis (specifically, the underside of the head, where a lot of the nerves are located). "Don't actually enter her, but let her glide back and forth along the top of the shaft, says Kerner. Spoon or face each other on your sides, and it can still be enjoyable without making him rush to orgasm.

Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes is well controlled mainly because of drugs that you are taking. Therefore, the present treatment has to be continued along with that you will have to exercise regularly, plus take a properly planned and restricted diet that provides exact amount of calories based on ideal body weight (65 kgs), extent of daily exercise and sugar levels. Thanks.
