Quick solution can not answered, for quick relief you need throat physician, to prevent it I can suggest you keep hydration of the mouth, by chewing gum daily, daily intake of banana, iron rich diet, shakes, fruits, salads.

I m suffering from pillonidal sinus at 9 0 clock position 5 cm in length and 7mm in thickness{ mri fistulogram}. What should I do.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hello Saurabh, The best and the most effective treatment for pilonidal sinus is surgery. It is a minor process and the problem will be solved very quickly. The more your delay it, the more are the chances of the sinus getting infections and in turn increasing in severity. It will be better that you get operated soon as a sinus can lead to a fistula.

I have deviated nasal septum (Dns) So doctor has suggested me 3 surgeries. What should be the combined cost of these 3 surgeries? 1.Septplasty 2.Radiofrequency nasal Turbinate reduction 3.Balloon dilatation of Sinuses And is it necessary to do all the 3 surgeries? And do I need to stay for 3 days in the hospital for these surgeries? Is it possible that in a day I can go home?

MBBS, Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO)
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
The problem is that Indian Insurance Companies have not woken up to the fact that medical technologies have come a long way in the last 60 years! Thus they insist on 24 hour hospitalisation for any surgery! If I were to do the above surgeries, and you were a cash paying patient, I would discharge you within 3 hours after surgery! If it was balloon sinuplasty along with RF assistedTurbinate Reduction, I can do it as an Office case! Under local anaesthesia in my clinic chambers, so no OT required! and you can go back to work immediately after the surgical procedure! However Septoplasty does require hospitalisation but can be discharged within 3 hours of surgery, however it also required daily follow-ups at my clinic to clean the nose so as to keep you comfortable for about 1 week.

Hello doctor in my left ear the water enters and it settled inside for a month and I uses cotton buds to clean it and...
Water can get sometime inside our ear during bathing or swimming. The fact is that we are all living beings and so mostly minimum amount of clean water inside the ear will be absorbed gradually due to body heat and other mechanisms. But if water is too cold or contaminated, than your middle part or inner part of ear canal will get inflamed and infected. This inflammation spreads rapidly towards tympanic membrane and causes pain on deglutination or jaw movement. Brownish coloured fluid has been seen once, which may be abrasive wound or chronic suppurative otitis media. So consult any ENT surgeon with digital x-ray of left ear immediately. Avoid any ear drops or oil inflitration in left ear. Avoid any hot fomentation without ENT doctor advice. Avoid aural toilet, if adviced in any private chamber as aural toilet is contraindicated in perforated tympanic membrane. Avoid cold contact as air conditioned room. Take care.

What is sinus and how can we identify it and what are it symptoms and how can it be prevented?

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
The sinuses are a connected system of hollow cavities in the skull. The largest sinus cavities are around an inch across; others are much smaller. Sinus Tests Physical examination: A doctor can look into the nose with a lighted viewer to see the turbinates, which may be swollen. She may press or tap on the face over the sinuses to check for pain. Computed tomography (CT scan): A CT scanner uses X-rays and a computer to create detailed images of the sinuses. CT scanning can help diagnose chronic sinusitis. Symptoms: Acute sinusitis (sinus infection): Viruses or bacteria infect the sinus cavity, causing inflammation. Increased mucus production, nasal congestion, discomfort in the cheeks, forehead or around the eyes and headaches are common symptoms. Sinus Treatments Decongestants: Medications that cause blood vessels in the inner nasal tissue to constrict. As a result, there is less sinus congestion, mucus production and postnasal drip. During changing weather, everyone needs to guard against common immunity related illnesses such as cold and flu. The best thing you can do is prevent them from taking a healthy diet. Try making a ginger tea with cloves to help treat a sore throat and cough. Salt water has been used as a gargle for centuries because it works so well: helps cleanse the throat of phlegm. Dissolve 2 teaspoon salt in 1 cup warm water and gargle three or four times daily. Honey has mild antibacterial. Stir 1.3 teaspoons into 1 cup warm water and gargle two or three times a day.
