My lmp is on 28th may 2015. I had intercourse with my husband after june 14. I had known that I am pregnant on july 10th 2015. On scanning on 16th july 2015 my doctor said that fetus should need 7 weeks development and my fetus have only 5 weeks development. Is it right? is the development of fetus counted from the date of conception or from the date of lmp?

MBBS
Sexologist, Panchkula
Do slow and deep breathing relaxation exercises in the morning. Take proper diet. Avoid garlic and red chilly, non veg and eggs. Take light dinner and before 8pmm. Development of foetus is counted from date of lmp. And don't worry it will be alright if there is no other problem.

I had sex with my boyfriend not internal sex but a romantic sex he did not insert his penis into vagina but I slowed his sperm now I don't knw whether am pregnant or not.

PhD Human Genetics
Sexologist,
You mean swallowed? If vaginal penetration did not take place, pregnancy does not occur. Swallowing of semen does not lead to pregnancy in anyway.

My vagina is very loose, when they penetrate in side they said its loose. My age is 25 and only one year passed for my marriage. Please help me.

Sexologist, Gurgaon
Dear lybrate-user. Vagina gets loose becoz of many causes like delivery of big baby or multiple vaginal deliveries, internal vaginal tissue weaknesse etc. According to unani system of medicine after picking up the cause of your problem that cause is targeted by some suitable medicine if medicines are failed surgery is another option. So please consult a good gynaecologist for proper check up and come back to us with her recommendations.

Is it safe to have sex without protection with your gf and later on giving ipil Will she get pregnant.

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Hello, iPill is an emergency contraceptive which should be used on regular basis because it has high dose of hormones and it has its own side effects. If you have given iPill within 72 hours of unprotected inteercourse, she will likely be not pregnant but 100% surety is not there.

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) and its Causes

Fellowship in Laproscopic Surgery, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Ghaziabad
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) and its Causes

Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a potentially life-threatening condition that causes a steep drop in blood pressure, resulting in deprivation of oxygen to the organs, which in severe cases leads to death. This disease has been associated with menstruating women who use superabsorbent tampons. It was first recognized in the 1970s and 80s when women using tampons of certain brands were affected by this syndrome and those brands were immediately taken off the market. This disease primarily affects tampon wearers and harmful effects of cervical caps, diaphragms, and menstrual sponges have surfaced.

New mothers are susceptible to TSS as well as those who are recovering from a surgery, are wounded or are using prosthetics. It is important to know about its symptoms so that you can identify the disease and seek professional help at the earliest.

Symptoms

Warning signs of TSS include:
-Seizure
-Headaches
-Muscle aches
-Diarrhea
-High fever
-Nausea

Causes
An overgrowth of bacteria called staphylococcus aureus (staph) causes this disease. It can be found primarily in female bodies. This is one of the many staph bacteria that lead to skin infections in burn victims and patients recovering from surgical wounds. Group a streptococcus (strep) bacteria is another cause of this syndrome.

I am 23 years old, I am under lactation. I am becoming very dry I do not know why. Before my pregnancy I was very fair but now I became dark. What's the reason? How could I become bright? What to do?

MBBS
Sexologist, Panchkula
Pregnancy is not the reason for your dryness and darkness. I advise you to take proper balanced vegetarian diet. Take 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Avoid non veg and eggs. Do meditation for mental strength.

Hello Dr. I am soumya and i am 9 months pregnant my baby bump is low and want to know the gender of my baby. Hbr is 140 at 12 weeks and it is 157 in 6 months scan and in 8th month scan it is 137. Now it is at 142. Baby is in anterior upper segment grade 3. With these may I know the gender of my baby. And I have scan reports also. If we cannot measure the gender with these information. What info is necessary. Thank you.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
I understand your query but i'm sorry to inform you that by these measures we cannot know the gender of the baby. By this data all I can gather is that you and your baby are fine and the pregnancy is progressing smoothly. To know the gender and ultrasound particularly looking for the baby's genitalia only can ascertain the sea of the baby. Unfortunately by the pndt act of india doctors are not allowed to see or declare the sea of the baby so i'm sorry I don't think it will be a good idea to ask any doctor to see for it. Hope this information has put doubts to rest. Let me know if I can assist you in any other way. All the best.

If you dont have had sex after your periods last month then no chances of pregnancy.delayed periods can be due to PCOD,just wait for some more days.

Hi lybrate-user, if your periods r regular & if first time your periods r postponed then do urine pregnacy test at home. Upt kit is available at any medicle store. Thank you for your question. It appears from your description that you may have an infection. If you are sexually active this could be a sexually transmitted infection in which case both you and your partner will need examination and treatment. If you are not sexually active it is most likely to be a fungal infection. Both types need examination and treatment for you to get better. Please see a gynaecologist or a doctor specializing in Skin and DVD. Best wishes.

I had undergone laparoscopic surgery on 8-3-17 and doctor had removed my left Fallopian tube as it is filled with water and send it for medical tests. The doctor told me that my right Fallopian tube is perfectly alright and I can get normal pregnancy with one Fallopian tube. Is the chances of conceiving decreases with one Fallopian tube.

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fellowship in Infertility (IVF Specialist)
Gynaecologist, Aurangabad
Hi lybrate-user, chances to conceive naturally will be reduced to 10-15% after removal of the Fallopian tube.
