your dose is enough . Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, go for walk. avoid oily foods, junk foods, go for walk. Do Tests every 3 to 6 months. And consult doctor on time.

Is there any treatment for diabetic retinopathy and vitreous hemorrhage in Ayurveda. Pls tell m m very depressed by this. Don't wnt surgery.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetic retinopathy is a serious complication of diabetes. Particularly occurs if blood sugar level is not well controlled for a long time. Hyperglycemia affects small blood vessels of retina and blocks them creating lack of oxygen. This leads to development of new blood vessels which are fragile and bleed blocking the vision or shrivel and cause detachment of retina. Only treatment for this is laser therapy, or certain injections in to the eye or if needed surgery (vitriectomy). In other medical practices there is no treatment for this problem. Strict blood glucose control is also very essential part of the treatment. Please go through appropriate treatment. Getting depressed is not going to benefit. Thanks.

Please go for a routine checkup with your doctor. Its always better to go for an annual health checkup with your doctor even if everything is better. Some routine tests like CBC, ESR, blood sugar with HbA1c, thyroid, liver and renal profile, urine routine etc can be done to ensure all is well. Do not anticipate anything but be careful and follow a healthy lifestyle. Follow up regularly to check BP and sugar.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. You and your husband needs detailed work up and then to decide the treatment plan. Menopause at 31 years is not common but still can happen. But that does not mean that there is no hope. Even after this ''early menopause", you still can have a baby. Never lose hope. All the best.

You are prediabetic. Please take a herbal medicine nutridiabe - 1 tablet a day for 1 month and then after a gap of 1 month again for 1 month. Repeat like this for atleast one year. This will reduce/postpone your chances of getting diabetes. Nutridiabe is totally herbal medicine and very good for diabetics or for the people who are prone for diabetes in near future. For detailed discussion/suggestions, please send details privately. Thanks.
