Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily. * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised.

I am 39 years old and I am suffering from typhoid. Give me some steps to take care of it and say me my exact diet?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Hope you are on right medication for typhoid from your doctor. So I shall not elaborate much on it. You need balanced diet which is free from much spices and is easily digestible. Because typhoid is a waterborne disease you should be watchful of the water you drink. It should be potable also consider taking typhoid vaccine once in three years. Also do a stool test after six weeks to see if you still have the germ in your system.

Hello Dr. .
Sir I want to grow my weight. I eat too much but no effect on my body. Whats I do dr.
Hello, Homoeopathic medicines are less invasive and have more herbal approach towards gaining the weight. There are a number of homoeopathic medicines, which treat the root cause behind the body’s inability to gain weight or bulk up. 1. Take alfalfa tonic (wsi), 2 – 2 tsp. Thrice a day, half an hour before meals. 2. Calcarea phos 200, 5 drops , once in aweek , morning empty stomach for 2 weeks. 3. Take eggs, milk, butter, bananas, potatoes, mangoes, figs, oats, soyabean and dry fruits. 4. Do light exercises regularly to keep your body active. These homoeopathic medicines and dietary addition will increase your appetite and give your metabolism a healthy boost.

Dear lybrate-user, It is usual to put on weight at middle years of life. As far walking is concerned, you should walk very brisk. Just strolling does not help at all. Food that you are taking, seems to be okay to me. Avoid mid meals snacks. Stress is also known to cause weight gain. I would suggest reduce sugar intake, fats and cereals.

How to Keep Anger at Bay

How to Keep Anger at Bay

Anger is a normal emotion. However, it is equally important to keep anger under control. Just like any other emotion, anger too varies from person to person and from one circumstance to another. Uncontrolled anger can lead to mental and physical stress. It also causes stress in relationships and hampers overall well-being.

Anger that cannot be controlled comes with a physical reaction. Your heart beats faster preparing you for both action and reaction. Your breathing quickens. You may clench your fist, tighten your shoulders and go into a defensive position. An angry person may lash out verbally and at times physically. Such things done in the heat of the moment may leave one with regrets or bad consequences.

Here are some of the ways that you could learn to gain control on your temper:

  1. Recognize the signs: Once you know that a problem exists, you must try devising ways that will work for you in dealing with the situation. You can count to 10 to calm yourself or simply decide to not speak until you can calm yourself. Knowing that you may enter into an argument in a situation, you can list down the points that you feel strongly about and discuss each of them one by one. Working your way through a finite list gives a better opportunity to reach closure at the end.
  2. Find ways to let it go: Not all arguments end in closure. A lot of unsaid justifications cloud our mind repeatedly leaving us seething from the inside. Research has shown that the neurological anger response lasts less than two seconds. Beyond that it takes a strong will to stay angry. Once you realize how much your anger is consuming your mind, decide to free your mind with meditation and other calming exercises. Tell yourself that some people and issues simply don't deserve your anger, emotion, reaction or time.
  3. Focus on the present: Whenever you're angry, don't look back at the past. By doing so, you may end up bringing past grievances into your present situation, while holding others responsible for feeling how and what you feel. Instead focus your attention on what you can do in the present to work out the issue.
  4. Hold no grudge: Holding on to the negative feelings will have a negative impact on the health. Focusing on the present will enable one to let go off bad experiences with a person. Letting negative experiences go not only keeps the relationship healthy, but also keeps you away from stress and harmful emotions.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

Hi im ashok. How to increase a weight. Im 20 years old but my weight is about 52 kgs only.

Hi im ashok. How to increase a weight. Im 20 years old but my weight is about 52 kgs only.
Peanut butter is a yummy spread for toast and bread. If you’re trying to gain weight, feel free to go for this high-calorie and nutritious food. Apply it on your whole wheat bread for breakfast and see how your weight increases within a short period of time.  Besides, you can spread a spoonful of peanut butter on fruits or vegetables like banana, apple slices, fresh berries, wheat germ or applesauce.  Alternatively, a peanut butter sandwich is also a good choice.
