Psychologist,
If your expectations are not met then anger and sadness comes. Expecting lesser from others and from yourself and having a realistic scale of expectations from people is very helpful. Too much anger is destructive and takes away concentration and breaks relationships too. You need to express your anger safely and also learn to manage it. Counselling offers this support and your life can become happy and you a confident person. I offer stress and anger management without medications. If you wish you can consult me privately. Take care.

Just taking medication will only correct the chemical imbalances in the brain. While you also need to learn techniques to handle situations with ease and aplomb without losing your mental and emotional equilibrium. Stress has always been a part of life ans will be. It is always better to equip yourself with such tips and techniques. Counselling is such a non judgemental space whwere ou can explore the causes of your anxiety and get to more about your unhealthy outdated beliefs and replace them with healthier and updated beliefs which will leave you feeling more confident about yourself, your relationships and situations which earlier caused you stress. 2. Learning a skill which could help you feel confident is a good way of handling stress. Eg. If you are teaching young kids and you do not know how to teach them. Then it will cause you anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. The b. Ed course will give you all those skills and info that you need for teaching children. 3. Exercise everyday to manage anxiety. A good run, swim, jog will help you to calm down and relax, feeling good about yourself. Breathing exercises will help you to calm down and relax at the time of stress. Anulom vilom and bhramri are 2 pranayams which are very good for anxiety reduction. Do these everyday for 5 mins before sleeping. 3. Avoid junk like fried, processed, refined etc as it is linked to stress and anxiety. Eat more of fresh, raw and whole foods with minimum processing.

If you don't smoke or drink, then you are not exercising much. You are also on the heavier side for your height. You must also check if your bp is also normal and see if you have sugar problems too. If you have panic and anxiety they are also good enough reasons to cause all your sexual problems. Nearly 99% of sexual problems are psychological in nature. You must be cooperative for any system of intervention to work for you, more so if the cause is psychological. I advise you to meet with a sexologist and learn how your anxiety is only increasing your problems. That person will also teach you certain measures to be taken and exercised to allow a free mind in sexual matters. The brain is the most important sexual organ: anything that disturbs it will directly impact your libido and performance. In fact, most of the physical excitement is dependent upon how the brain is stimulated and aroused. That is what is involved in porn and ads where female bodies are used in sexually titillating ways to arouse your attention and goad the sexual drive or buying impulse, respectively. You must explore what inhibitions or anxious thoughts prevent sexual arousal, and address those feelings to completely free yourself from their negative influences. The sexologist is your best bet. If you get over-excited you will have an early ejaculation too. You must restrain yourself from getting too excited and hold back the physical pleasure too to some extent to extend the ejaculate. When you finish your first round of intercourse, you could, after a delay of 20 minutes, go for another round which will be a lot more delayed. If necessary you can then do it the third time and that will surely be pretty delayed.

I have anxiety problem heart beat goes faster when I got nervous. Anxiety disorder is curable or not?
Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or making an important decision. But anxiety disorders involve more than temporary worry or fear. For a person with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. Restlessness or feeling wound-up or on edge being easily fatigued difficulty concentrating or having their minds go blank irritability muscle tension difficulty controlling the worry sleep problems (difficulty falling or staying asleep or restless, unsatisfying sleep) these are some of the symptoms. U seem to be having anxiety disorder, kindly consult a psychiatrist and get treated. It is not a heart problem, but a mind problem. Anxxiety and Panic occurs due to reduced serotonergic transmission in the mind. Since all organs have connections from the mind, when you have anxiety and panic there are changes in the BP/ and pulse rate. It is not a primary cardiac problem. So consult a psychiatrist and get your anxiety and panic treated.

The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

You have to concentrate mind and try natural antidepressant methods and if not useful need medicines .5 Ways to Fight Depression If you feel depressed, it's best to do something about it — depression doesn't just go away on its own. In addition to getting help from a doctor or therapist, here are 5 things you can do to feel better. 1. Exercise. Take a 15- to 30-minute brisk walk every day — or dance, jog, or bike if you prefer. People who are depressed may not feel much like being active. In addition to getting aerobic exercise, some yoga poses can help relieve feelings of depression. Two other aspects of yoga — breathing exercises and meditation — can also help people with depression feel better. 2. Nurture yourself with good nutrition. Depression can affect appetite. One person may not feel like eating at all, but another might overeat.. Proper nutrition can influence a person's mood and energy. So eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and get regular meals (even if you don't feel hungry, try to eat something light, like a piece of fruit, to keep you going). 3. Identify troubles, but don't dwell on them. Try to identify any situations that have contributed to your depression. When you know what's got you feeling blue and why, talk about it with a caring friend. Talking is a way to release the feelings and to receive some understanding. 4. Express yourself. With depression, a person's creativity and sense of fun may seem blocked. Exercise your imagination (painting, drawing, doodling, sewing, writing, dancing, composing music, etc.) and you not only get those creative juices flowing, you also loosen up some positive emotions. Take time to play with a friend or a pet, or do something fun for yourself. Find something to laugh about — a funny movie, perhaps. Laughter helps lighten your mood. 5. Try to notice good things. Depression affects a person's thoughts, making everything seem dismal, negative, and hopeless. If depression has you noticing only the negative, make an effort to notice the good things in life. Try to notice one thing, then try to think of one more. Consider your strengths, gifts, or blessings. Most of all, don't forget to be patient with yourself. Depression takes time to heal. Hi, I can understand your worry and also feel the severity of the problem. At 1st for anxiety, tolaz 10 is not the treatment and not even pacitane. Anxiety needs to be explored in detail. The agony of the tests you have undergone is understandable. I can help you out with this. Please take an online consultation on my profile. Thank you.

What has caused all this? at your age you should be enjoying life with your friends and family. If you are sleeping for 12 - 16 hours per day, that means you are under lot of stress. Try to face the reality of life. Share your worries with someone who can understand you. If you do not have a friend or family member to share your burden with, then please talk to a counsellor. The counsellor will not judge you. The counsellor will only help you understand what is happening to you and how you can cope up with it. All the best.

All factors that come with yoru age. But it is also an opportune moment to find out what may have happened in your early childhood that has contributed to this situation, and seek the help of a counselor. I also recommend that you visit the counselor along with yoru parents. I suspect that the adolescent issues with regard to hormones may be affecting your ability to concentrate and remember. When the hormones play up, it lasts for a period of close to two years and during that time you could be influenced by three signs directly impacted by the chemical: you will tend to become aggressive and rebellious, you will become sexually active, and you will have acne and pimple problems. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

I get a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. And that stays for 2-3 days relating to petty issues. Is there any medicine...
Dear lybrate-user, thanks for the question. I understand your concerns. I went through the details. Anxiety is a disorder. Not a disease. Mental diseases are usually treated with the help of psychiatric medicines. Mental disorders are treated with the help of psychotherapy, life style changes and relaxation methods. Panic attacks are always due to the underlying anxiety disorders. To clear panic attacks, you need to treat and clear anxiety disorder. Psychotherapy techniques include rational emotive therapy, cognitive behavior therapy etc. You should consult a psychologist for these therapies. In the mean time, you can start physical exercise at least for one hour and breathing exercises for 10minutes daily. I hope this answer satisfies you. I am available for further clarifications. Take care.

These differences are coming up because you two are not compatible. The more similarity in compatibility factors, the better the relationship. However, when compatibility is poor, good adjustability is needed. This is where you and your wife must find and know the many ways you can adjust to live with each other. If one or the both of you do not make these adjustments, the relationship will be under threat. Since both of you have been staying together for so long in spite of this, there is some hope to work on it. You must talk to her and find out what she is finding difficult to cope with you and what does she want you to do to reciprocate. You on the other hand need to list out the difficulties you have with her, and expect her to change or adjust. I know you do not marry a person to change them, but expressing what it is that the other person can do for you, is okay for the betterment of the relationship. Do not expect her to read your mind nor for you to even try to do so with hers. It is communication that will work out solutions to your advantage and for the peace. Yet, not only peace, you need to live happily.

Hello doctor. My father age 54 has a habit of taking tabacco I advised not to take and he did it also. But after 2 weeks he started again taking it when I asked my dad he said its a difficult to leave without tobacco its just hypnotising my dad. Kindly advice me what to do.

Do be sympathetic to the man: it is very difficult because there are so many conditions associated to the habit. But the good news is that even if you fail many times, he must try to stop it again. It is through perseverance that success can be achieved especially in this habit. If is too difficult then he can go for counseling to get the necessary support and to help identify the emotions, the stress, and the situations that make him want to smoke. When he decides, it must be done immediately and abruptly. Waiting another day will jeopardize the decision. He needs to identify with why he smokes: there is an oral need, the nicotine effect, the psychological effect of covering up some other issue, for style, to impress, etc. He should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time he feels like smoking (try yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need, for a little while. If the urge is too strong, then he could use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. He may join smokers anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep him occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i. E. At least for the first 21 days. Above all, announce it to everyone that he has quit smoking. He must persevere with the best support until he defeats this addiction.
