How to sleep well many times when the sleep is disturbed it leads to many problems in the body and the mind. In todays fast moving world sleep is disturbed by our surroundings and our activities. Here are some simple steps to improve your sleep. 1. Keep a fixed time to wake up every morning regardless of what time you go to sleep. 2. Use your bed/mattress only for sleeping. Better don? t use it for watching tv/browsing the net/chatting on phone. In case you haven? t noticed separate furniture are available for those activities! 3. Avoid taking tea/coffee after 5 pm. No question of smoking or alcohol? these are sure fire ways to have a disturbed sleep. 4. If you dont fall asleep within 20 minutes of going to bed, walk out of the bed to a different room. Engage in some simple activity like reading a pleasant book/listening to some melody. 5. Dont keep staring at the watch/clock while trying to fall asleep. 6. Try to unwind with a warm bath and gentle music before going to bed. Grandma would say drink a cup of milk. Listen to her! 7. Sleep in a place which is not noisy/bright? pretty obvious isnt it! yet we ignore it too often. 8. Consult a psychiatrist for help if above methods fail. Please dont self-medicate. I am confused my genetic migraine problem so what can I do this ?

Hello, I am giving some health tips for Migraine headache •1.You can turn off light for some time •2.Apply hot or cold compresses to your head or neck. •Ice packs have a numbing effect, which may dull the sensation of pain. •Hot packs and heating pads can relax tense muscles. •3.Warm showers or baths may have a similar effect. •4.You can take Tea or coffee( but not excess) 5.Sleep well Here are some tips to encourage sound sleep. Establish regular sleep hours. •Minimize distractions. •Your eating habits can influence your migraines. •Be consistent. Eat at about the same time every day. Don't skip meals. Fasting increases the risk of migraines Avoid foods that trigger migraines kindly consult Physician for further management

Age 75. He got paralytic attack 3 days before in left side. Because of immediate treatment he survived. Can not stand but has movement in all organs. He has high b. P. Sugar is on little higher side but controlled. Please advise how to care also suggest diet according to his condition. He is very week. thanks all.

He has to undergo physiotherapy and get his bp and sugars checked regularly. Diet should be balanced with more protiens and less fat specially foods containing oil, butter and sugars. Depending on the type of stroke, he may require blood thinners.

Dear Doctor. I have burning sensation in my Both thighs and very recently I have diagnosed with meralgia paraesthetica, which causes the burning sensation. I have done my nerve conduction study. Currently having gabapentin and not felling fully recovered. Is a surgery a good option? Will doing a surgery gives me 100% recovery from meralgia paraesthetica? Please advice me.

For meralgia paraesthetica, only conservative rx & physiotherapy is needed. No surgery is helpful, still need to see patient clincially. Gabapentin is good medicine & some supportive medicine can go longer but it may helpful.

Agnesji, I am not aware if hypothyroidism increases blood pressure. Your blood pressure particularly systolic seems to be varying quite a bit, it is not good. Appropriate medication should settle it. Ideally on treatment bp should 130 / 80 mm hg, altering present drugs or adding some new compound should be able to help in reducing the systolic pressure. You also control hypothyroidism effectively (maintaining tsh between 3 to 4 milli units/ml). That will help in over all well being.

Homoeopathic medicine--------- adel-39 drops (adel) drink 20 drops in 20 ml fresh water 3 times daily----------- magnesia phos 6x (adel) chew 4 tab every 2-3 hrly till pains subside---------- take a calcium rich diet constituting milk and its products and 1 egg daily.------------------taking fish oil capsules is also beneficial in your case.

When you sit crosslegged and taking your child on your lap, there could be atemporary reduction in blood flow to the legs and this could be due to weight gain or nerve compression or blood vessel compression. For your height, of 5.3 feet, your weight is ok, so may be the problems could be due to cramps in muscles and this can be best helped by sitting with legs straight if you sit crosslegged, you must change position everyf ew minutes to allow good blood flow. If tingling numbness if there, it signifies vitamin or calcium deficiency and its better to meet a doctor before popping a pill generally many pregnant women take calcium off and on in pregnancy but do not take calcium in postd elivery period. If you are still feeding your child or if you have not taken calcium in the post delivery period, perhaps you must visit the gynecologist who will evaluate you and provide the necessary treatments.

For my seizure I take medication Twice a day which are following 1.Zenoxa 300 (oxcarbazepine tablets IP 300 mg) 2.Lacotide 150 (Lacosamide Tablets 150 mg) taking twice aday after taking it from 3 days after taking this medicine i feel like i was just drunk 4 bottle of wine what i should have to do just suggest me Doctor.

Because of side effect of Zenoxa u are feeling more sedative. You tell me about ur seizure pattern. I think u should readjust dose and medicine both.

My mother is 55 and had knee pain from past few years. It has become quite worse now and she is in intense pain in one knee regularly and feels uneasy walking. Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation twice a day. Take mahayograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Fermented food. Spicy food. Rice. Walk for atleast 30 minutes a day. Do pranayama early morning. Sleep for atleast 7 hrs per day.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Decreased sensations in toe region can be due to nerve entrapment either in spine region of around the ankle in one of the compartments or other causes which can lead to a neuropathy. But to think about common causes first, - modify your footwear to make it loose so that there is no compression - start physical therapy especially with tens as a modality - start with medicines for neuropathic symptoms like pregabalin and methycobalamin. If your symptoms do not show improvement, then we will require nerve conduction studies and some blood tests. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

I have epilepsy and had been taking oxetol 450 mg from past 2 yrs. But only seizure has vanished but I still speak in sleep. How to avoid that. Talking in sleep.

Follow sleep hygiene. Get a EEG done. Exercise daily and you should feel tired at the time of going to sleep. That will improve your sleep qualities and talking will reduce.

Causes of lack of sleep are: • stress • Anxiety • Depression • Pain • irregular schedule of sleep such as sleeping during day time & working during nights. • Caffeine, alcohol • Due to drugs • Due to high blood pressure. • Aging Due to lack of sleep there are many complications arise such as lack of concentration, irritability, fatigue & digestion problem. So these are some instructions & methods for good sleep: • Frequent oil massage of head with oil relax your mind and enhances sleep. You can also do foot massage daily it destress you. • Do not take stress. Do meditation and long breathing pranayams to relax the mind. • Do not take caffeine, tea & alcohol in excess and these are stimulant,(activate) your brain result in lack of sleep. • Avoid drinking alcohol & smoking. • Avoid sleep during day time as it makes it harder to fall asleep at night. •Try to sleep early at night. Do not think during sleep and avoid use of laptop during night. Do exercise and long walk daily. • Avoid to take sleeping pills because these are habit forming drugs and these drugs disturb your normal sleep pattern. • Take a bowl of curd daily in afternoon and one glass of milk at night daily.
