I have been having this dry path around my ankles. This started many years back as small dryness but now it’s spreading. I have this dry/scaly patch in my elbow area/Knee area I have shown different kind of doctor like General physician/Skin specialist/Siddha/Ayurveda/Homeopathy. All have different theory like Body Heat / Impure Blood/ Mild psoriasis/eczema and etc. Observations: -No Pain -No Swelling -Not Too Red -No Puss -No Irritation -No infection - It looks odd when someone see, otherwise it does not give any trouble - when I eat spicy food, I feel it becomes more scaly Medication taken in past:-Propygenta -Dipgenta -Salicylic based cream -Ayurvedic Psorkot tab (gave me heavy stomach pain/gas) -colostrum (as suggested in this Lybrate Forum) -aloevera cream -Anti Allergic tabs My lifestyle: -Very active -Walk/Jog Daily -Regularly do yoga -Sleep well -Weight: 86 -Height: 180 cms -Eat Balanced diet -No Smoking -Occasional drinking (once in 2 months may be) -Question: WHAT SHOULD I DO?

FOOD FOR DRY SKIN.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
FOOD FOR DRY SKIN.
Food is not only essential for good health but also for a healthy glowing smooth nd supple skin. Dry skin needs it's own special feed. Water should be taken in plenty to avoid dehydration. At least two litres of water should be taken daily. Fruits such as walnut, almond, figs, pistachio, cashew contain antioxidants which damage free radicals and helps the skin to glow. Have plenty of roasted flax seeds for a glowing skin. Have colourful veggies like carrot, onion, beetroot, red and yellow bell peppers, pumpkin are rich in different phytonutrients whiich replenish the skin. Nonvegetarians can have salmon, mackerel, tuna which are rich in omega three fatty acids and is an essential antioxidant. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and aerated drinks since they will dehydrate and dry skin even more in the cold airy winters.

My hair is falling very much what do please tell me. I am 20 year old and more than half hair is fall.
Hair loss can be controlled by - 1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 6. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 7. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 8. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. 9. Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.

Hi Doctor, I have to ask about my wife's hair fall problem as she is also suffering from dandruff and stopped growth ...
Follow these best tips for treatment of hair fall • Add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs.. • To reduce hairfall, Practice Yogasana like SHIRSHASANA and SARWANGASANA only under the guidance of Expert. • you can use MAHABHRINGRAJ TEL of BAIDYANATH COMPANY and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. • Avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo. * Take Vitamin-E rich foods like dry fruits (Almonds, Pista etc) daily. * Apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week. It gives nourishment to hair root and enhances hair growth. For dandruff problem: Take a bowl of curd, leave this for one day for making it sour and after that apply this curd on your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse it with water. Apply this in day time ONCE A WEEK. Do not apply in evening or night.
