Both the teeth seems to be decayed long before and due to left untreated the decay lead to fracture of tooth. Booth the teeth can be possibly saved by undergoing root canal treatment and post and core(strengthening of broken tooth area) and a crown. Meet a dentist as soon as possible.TAKE CARE. DR.KAARTHIK.

Brush in vertical strokes, instead of horizontal strokes. Using a soft tooth brush. Dont apply too much pressure while brushing.

Hey doctor. Im 23. I have been noticing receding gums for about 3 years now. I heard these problems are caused in 40s or so. But im too young for this. Is there any home remedy or medicines to cure receding gums and grow back gum line? Im scared of flap surgery. Any painless medical treatment? Please reply ASAP.

BDS
Dentist, Purnia
Hi lybrate-user Gums can recede at any age though more common in elderly. Recession can be slowed or stopped only if the cause is removed. In your case it may be due to improper oral hygiene, calculus, improper brushing ,trauma from occlusion, high frenum etc. So I will advise you better Get it evaluated and corrected than to wait for home remedies because it can be too late.

Dental Implants and its Benefits

Dental Implants and its Benefits

Dentistry has made a lot of progress in the past few decades and continues to do so. However, certain factors, such as injuries, gingivitis, gum disease and decay of tooth can all lead to tooth loss. Previously, bridges and dentures were the only options available, but now a new form of treatment known as ‘dental implants’ have come up. Implants are basically replacements to your broken or damaged teeth and can function just like the way your original teeth did. Implants also provide a strong foundation and have a success rate of around 98 per cent.

The advantages of dental implants are the following:

  1. Implants help you eat easily as they act like your natural teeth. Owing to this, implants score over dentures.
  2. Since implants look like your natural teeth, they can give you back the smile you need and hence you appear confident and feel better about yourself.
  3. Implants are durable and can last a lifetime which makes it advantageous over other dental procedures.
  4. Implants are permanently fused to your bone and help to improve your speech as they are fitted properly to avoid any sort of slip.

Are you suited for a dental implant?
The answer is obviously yes and in fact, anyone suffering from dental concerns can go for dental implant. Being healthy for routine extraction and other oral surgeries deem you eligible and fit for dental implant procedures. However, the minimum necessity is healthy gums if you are considering dental implants. But, it is always advisable to consult your dentist.

Implants require regular visits to your dentist and maintaining proper oral hygiene is a must. If you are a regular smoker or have chronic disorders such as diabetes and heart disease or have had radiation therapy done on your neck or head region previously, then you may have to consult your dentist before zeroing in on dental implants.

Doctor's pls suggest me something for having whiter and healthier teeth. Also suggestion for a good tooth paste.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Use Homeodent toothpaste twice daily, morning and night before sleep. Home remedy:- Cleaning your teeth with fresh orange peel on a regular basis will reduce the yellow tinge accumulated on your teeth. Rub orange peel over your teeth every night before going to sleep. The vitamin C and calcium in the orange peel will combat the microorganisms throughout the night.Do this for a few weeks and you will notice effective results. If fresh orange peel is not available, you can use dried orange peel powder. Take care.

We are suffering from sensitivities since 4 month. Please share your opinion how can I relief?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Until then apply a desensitizing paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Whenever I brush, blood comes from my teeth and there is always pain in my teeth mostly on corner teeth and also always bad smell comes from my mouth. What can I do sir?

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
For bad breath and bleeding, go for scaling and polishing of teeth. Use mouthwash twice daily after brushing. Also clean your tongue. Gargle forcefully with water after you eat or drink anything. Avoid oilly, spicy n junk foods. Reduce intake of onions garlic and alcohol especially at night. Increase your intake of water. Bad breath can also be due to sour throat, dry mouth, bad digestion, tonsils. For pain in corner teeth, get it x-rayed to determine the cause. It can be due to decay, or gum infection or sensitivity.
