Lower Back Pain Treatment With accurate assessment and early treatment, most lower back pain injuries will respond extremely quickly to physiotherapy allowing you to quickly resume pain-free and normal activities of daily living. Please ask you physiotherapist for their professional treatment advice. While lower back pain treatment will vary depending on your specific diagnosis, your physiotherapist will have the following aims. PHASE I - Back Pain Relief & Protection Managing your back pain is the main reason that you seek treatment for lower back pain. In truth, it was actually the final symptom that you developed and should be the first symptom to improve. Your physiotherapist will use an array of treatment tools to reduce your pain and inflammation. These include: ice, electrotherapy, acupuncture, de-loading taping techniques, soft tissue massage. A course of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen may also help in this phase. PHASE II - Restoring Normal ROM and Strength. Early Back Exercises. As your lower back pain and inflammation settles, your lower back pain may feel better but you are actually more vulnerable for re-injury during this honeymoon period when you don’t have pain but your muscles and ligaments are weak. During this phase your physiotherapist will turn their attention to restoring your normal lumbar spine motion, muscle length and resting tension, muscle strength and endurance, proprioception, balance and gait (walking pattern). Your physiotherapist will commence you on a lower abdominal core stability program to facilitate your important muscles that dynamically control and stabilise your lower back and pelvis. Your physiotherapist will assess your muscle recruitment pattern and prescribe the best back exercises for your specific needs. PHASE III - Restoring Full Function Depending on your chosen work, sport or activities of daily living, your physiotherapist will aim to restore your back’s function to safely allow you to return to your desired activities. Everyone has different demands for their lower back that will determine what specific treatment goals you need to achieve. For some it be simply to walk around the block. Others may wish to run a marathon or be fast bowler. Your physiotherapist will tailor your back pain rehabilitation to help you achieve your own functional goals. PHASE IV - Back Exercises - Preventing a Recurrence Recurrence of lower back pain can occur. The main reason it is thought to recur is due to insufficient rehabilitation. In particular, poor compliance with deep abdominal core muscle exercises. You should continue a version of these back exercises routinely a few times per week. Your physiotherapist will assist you in identifying the best exercises for you to continue indefinitely.

Shoulder pain can be a result of injury or disease of the shoulder joint. Injury can affect any of the ligaments, bursae, or tendons surrounding the shoulder joint. Injury can also affect the ligaments, cartilage, menisci and bones of the joint. Some minor shoulder pain can be treated at home. Icing the shoulder for 15 to 20 minutes, three or four times a day for two to three days can help reduce pain. Use an ice bag or wrap ice in a towel (putting ice directly on your skin can cause frostbite). Rest the shoulder and avoid any movements that might cause pain. Simple shoulder exercises can help to stretch and strengthen muscles and rotator cuff tendons. A physiotherapist can show you how to do them properly. Please consult a physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your condition. Best wishes.

I had an abscessed molar tooth, of which cleaning was done and temporary filled but crown hasn't yet been placed. It's been a month after that. I am feeling burning pain after few minutes daily from my last visit itself. I have low levels of vitamin d and c. So,What does this pain wants to signal? Is it possible that this burning pain in my head, neck and collarbone is due to the oral bacteria spreading itself vigorously and penetrating into my bones or elsewhere?(Note: Previous X-rays showed quite a bit abscess present in my jawbone).

No... The nerve supply of the whole area is by trigeminal nerve and that's why tooth affection causes refered pain in whole area... It may not be infection spreading... For pain relief and stop the caries of other teeth you may take homoeopathic medicine Heklalava 30 TDs for one day... For further advise consult

My leg so Vert pain. I am disturb in pain please sir my help me so your thanks. My name Anil Yadav.
For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Knee joint pain is usually due to osteoarthritis, which occurs in most old aged persons due to damage to cartilage in the joint. Pain killers and anti inflammatory drugs do give some relief but it will not be permanent. If diabetes is diagnosed please take care that sugar levels are well controlled by proper treatment. Because uncontrolled diabetes can also contribute joint problems particularly in shoulders.

DEAR……….. Shoulder pain Physiotherapy uses a number of different physical methods to promote healing. If you are referred to a physiotherapist, they should explain to you what treatment they will use and how it will work. Possible treatments include: • specific shoulder exercises – for example, if you have shoulder instability, you may be given exercises to strengthen your shoulder • massage – where the physiotherapist uses their hands to manipulate your shoulder Read more about some of the different techniques used inphysiotherapy. Shoulder exercises If you have shoulder pain, it's important to keep your shoulder joint mobile with light and gentle movement. Not using your shoulder can cause your muscles to waste away and may make any stiffness worse. Therefore, if possible, you should continue using your shoulder as normal. If your shoulder is very stiff, exercise may be painful. Your GP or physiotherapist can give you exercises to do without further damaging your shoulder. You may be given exercises to do on your own, or you may complete the exercises with supervision from your GP or physiotherapist. You may also have manual therapy, where the healthcare professional moves your arm for you. Manual therapy uses special techniques to move the joints and soft tissues in your shoulder. One review of a number of studies found that long-term physiotherapy was as effective as surgery for impingement syndrome (any type of damage to the tendons in the rotator cuff). I HOPE U WILL FITT AND FINE

Back Pain and Its Treatment

Back Pain and Its Treatment

Back pain is a common phenomenon and is witnessed by a lot of people these days. There could be several reasons for back pain in an individual. From bad posture to accident, neck related problems to arthritis, the reasons are many. While the level of pain varies from individual to individual, it can create extreme discomfort and hamper day to day activity. It is more commonly known as musculoskeletal disorder or MSD. It can also be accompanied with strain injury and neck pain. This condition is commonly known as WRULD. Physiotherapy is an extremely effective mode of treatment for treating any sort of back pain.

How Does Physiotherapy Help?

Physiotherapy not only helps in managing and curing the back pain but also helps in ensuring that the back pain doesn’t come again. In the case of a surgery, it can speed up the recovery. A physiotherapist first inspects the reason of pain and tries to find out its source. Post the identification, a physiotherapist suggests appropriate treatment plan which could include manual treatment, exercises, stretching, acupuncture etc.

Passive Physical Therapy:

The first level of physiotherapy starts with passive therapy. Decreasing pain is the main motive of passive therapy. Some of the passive therapy treatments include ultrasound, heat pack, ice pack, iontophoresis etc.

Active Therapy:

Almost all patients with back pain are advised to stretch the hamstring muscle. All stretching exercises should be done once or twice on a daily basis. Stretching moves the soft tissues and relieves legs, buttocks, spine, and back pain. In order to strengthen the back, it is necessary to perform certain exercises such as lumbar specialization on a daily basis for a span of 10-15 minutes. Back pain exercises stabilize the soft tissue and the joints. It also slows down the inflammation of the bone. Aerobic conditioning is another exercise that is recommended by a lot of therapists for permanent pain relief and non-recurrence of the pain in future. Aerobic exercises should be done for a stretch of half an hour to forty minutes.

Work and Posture:

Work and posture play a great role in patients suffering from back pain. For a patient whose work involves in carrying weight with one shoulder or lifting the heavy weight on a daily basis, it is necessary to ensure that the load is shared equally with both the shoulders. If on the other hand, the work is required to sit in front of a computer it has to be ensured that the screen falls in line with the eye level and a straight posture is maintained.

Medical Help:

If the back pain doesn’t go away even after repeated physio sessions, medical help needs to be taken on an immediate basis. Doctors often perform imagery tests such as x-ray, CT scan, MRI to negate the possibility of any bone structure related problem that might be causing the pain.
