I am 48 year old female, and suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis from last 3 years, also been checked up by many doctors but yet not got the relief. What should I do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Dear Lybrate User, *One teaspoon turmeric, ¼ teaspoon garlic, ¼ teaspoon ajowain, ½ teaspoon coriander seed powder, ½ teaspoon fenugreek with half glass of water twice a day. *Body massage with sesame or mustard oil helps to reduce vata, resulting in less pain. The joints affected by pain can be massaged for longer time. *Light exercise is useful but you must know your limits. As a general rule if any exercise, including walking, causes pain after one hour, you have crossed your limit. *Liberal intake of orange juice or sweet limejuice or vitamin C enhances the efficacy of any anti-rheumatic drug since vitamin C can reduce skeletal pain. *Guggul is a very helpful herb for curing arthritis. *Eat right:Food rich in Vitamin E, calcium and oil can help prevent arthritis. Eat lots of fruits, green leafy vegetables and milk products. Fish is a good source of cod liver oil, which helps fight arthritis. Drink plenty of water, which is necessary for joint lubrication. It also helps with weight maintenance. Think of drinking water as ridding your body of toxins.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Dear sir My father has gone to the heel bone and the pain is please help me sir age 55 year.
Dear lybrate user we are happy to hear your problem that heel bone pain is there? practically by common doctors will. Advise you to take some hot and cold fomenting along with some pain killer's. Lastly a soft shoes or chappal. For couple of days to weeks. If no response seen either will refer to some one or do surgical excision if calcaneal spurs not amenable to conservative treatment. We do minimal invasive non surgically option likely rfa
