My mother is on treatment for seizure. She was taking levipril 500mg BD and Valence 250mg BD. On 9.8. 15 she got seizure and the doctor put her on levipril 500mg BD and valence 500mg BD.

DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Hyderabad
She has been rightly prescribed. But before increasing the dose of medication, ensure that she was taking previously prescribed medication regularly even without missing a single dose, ensure that she has not concomitantly taken any other medication that known to induce seizure, ensure that she was not sleep deprived prior to the episode of recent seizure, if none of these precipitating factors are present, then increasing the dose of valance is rational.

I am suffering from leprosy I have taken treatment for 6 months but my right hand fingers crossed doctor told take physiotherapy am I cured from from leprosy r not.

Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Gurgaon
Clawing of the hands is a common disability caused by leprosy. As leprosy starts damaging the small nerves in the skin's surface and if left untreated can result major nerve damage. The resulting damage can lead to loss of sensation in the hand and muscle parsis paralysis, which causes clawed fingers. Reconstructive surgery to correct the deformities of leprosy in the hands and feet. Movement can be restored by using a muscle transfer technique where, with the help of a physiotherapist, a muscle is identified for transfer and strengthened. After surgery and several weeks in plaster, the patient is taught how to use their old muscle to do a new job and then apply the technique subconsciously. In case of muscle paralysis. Reconstructive surgery and muscle tranfer technique is needed in severe cases and then physiotherapy for muscle strenghening and reducation is required. If claw hand is not severe and only muscle weekness is there then physiotherapy can help you with muscle strenthening and range if motion exercises. Thanks take care.

Hi lybrate-user Medications and physical therapies can be complemented by alternative treatment. The physiotherapist evaluates and addresses the body’s ability to move and function, with particular emphasis on walking, strength, balance, posture, fatigue, and pain. PT might include stretching, range-of-motion and strengthening exercises, gait training, and training in the use of mobility aids (canes, crutches, scooters and wheelchairs) and other assistive devices. The ultimate goal is to achieve and maintain optimal functioning and prevent unnecessary complications such as de-conditioning, muscle weakness from lack of mobility, and muscle contractures related to spasticity. Please contact a Physiotherapist to start with Rehabilitation.

Hello, migraine is a form of headache. The pain is usually throbbing, pulsating and bursting in character. At times, the pain is one sided or may involve the whole head. Such pain may last for hours or even days. It is often accompanied by other symptoms like nausea or vomiting. At the same time, there is increased sensitivity to light and sound. The causes of the problem may vary from one patient to another and so will the final choice of the homoeopathic remedy. For leg pain take five phos 6x, 5 tabs twice daily. Take no. 19, 5 tabs thrice daily. Revert me after 10 days. Thanks.

My brother 32 years had brain stroke 8 months ago on the right side and he was operated. Since then he is not getting the left hand movement at all. He has got 70% of leg movement. We are really concerned. All types of treatments we have tried including regular physiotherapy. What should we do now?

MPTh/MPT
Physiotherapist,
Kindly go for motar evoked potentials. This will help to rule out the functions of the affected hands. Do physiotherapy regularly for the hands also.

Hi, I am asking this question for my mother she have a regular migraine problem. Does it have a complete solution? What is the main causes of it?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, the common causes of migraine are: hormonal changes in women. Fluctuations in estrogen seem to trigger headaches in many women with known migraines. Foods. Aged cheeses, salty foods and processed foods may trigger migraines. Food additives. Drinks. Stress. Sensory stimuli. Changes in wake-sleep pattern physical factors. Changes in the environment. A change of weather or barometric pressure can prompt a migraine. Medications. Oral contraceptives and vasodilators, such as nitroglycerin, can aggravate migraines. Self-care measures can help ease the pain of a migraine headache. Try muscle relaxation exercises. Relaxation techniques may include progressive muscle relaxation, meditation or yoga. Get enough sleep, but don't oversleep. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It's best to go to bed and wake up at regular times, as well. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on. Place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck and apply gentle pressure to painful areas on your scalp. Medication: take bakson's mig-aid tablet/ 1 tablet 3 times a day.

It is due to tiredness and overuse of that muscles. Just have mag phos 6x three tablets 3 times in a day for a week. It will be gone.
