Dear, stomach pain occurs during periods is due to contraction of muscles of uterus. This will not cause any problem after marriage and during pregnancy. For take relief follow these methods: * take i/3 rd piece of ginger boil it in one glass of water, when half glass water remain then take it with one teaspoon of ajwayin. * use warm water bottle put it on your stomach area with wrap in the towel. * take rest properly do not do hard work. Do not do running and jogging before 7days from periods coming date. * do massage with lukewarm mustard oil around area below stomach and back.

Hello. To start with, badminton as a sport puts a lot of strain on your knee, you will end up with some or the other minor niggles around the knee if you do not strength your muscles around the knee joint. Am sure the consultant did not find any abnormality in the X-ray so don't worry jus start knee strengthening exercises which will keep your knee safe.

Torn Meniscus - Symptoms And Treatment!

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Chennai
Torn Meniscus - Symptoms And Treatment!

Your knee is guarded and cushioned by a cartilage known as meniscus. A meniscus tear, therefore, is an extremely painful and discomforting situation. It occurs very frequently and has emerged as one of the most commonly occurring cartilage injuries. What makes a meniscus tear an extremely common phenomenon is the way it can tear that is all it takes is a twist of the knee for it to happen.

People involved in sports mostly face the brunt of this form of injury. The risk of getting meniscus torn increases with age and tends to occur at the slightest change of direction of movement.

Symptoms
Some of the symptoms of a torn meniscus are:

  1. Pain and inflammation: It goes without saying that an internal injury of the cartilage or tearing away of it would inevitably result in extreme pain and inflammation near the knee.
  2. Immobility: The extreme pain and inflammation, which follows will inevitably make it difficult to move. Since the pain occurs in the joint, you will have difficulty in walking and any forceful movement will only aggravate the pain.
  3. Locking of the knee: Locking of the knee refers to a situation when you are unable to move your knee. This occurs most commonly after you have your meniscus torn.

Treatment
Notwithstanding its frequency of occurrence, there are several ways, by which you can treat a torn meniscus. Some of the ways are:

  1. Apply ice: In order to get some relief, applying ice is a suitable option. If you apply ice every day for some time, it wonders in reducing swelling and the consequent pain.
  2. Use a bandage: In order to control the swelling, it is important that you cover your knee with an elastic bandage.
  3. Change the posture: It is important that you keep the affected knee in an elevated plane, in order to ensure an efficient blood supply and a consequent relief from pain.

Some Medical Treatments
There are many things to consider when deciding how to treat your torn meniscus, including the extent and location of the tear, your pain level, your age and activity level, your doctor's preference, and when the injury occurred. Your medical treatment choices are:

  1. Nonsurgical treatment with compression, elevation, and physical therapy. This may include wearing a temporary shoulder brace.
  2. Surgical repair to sew the tear together.
  3. Partial meniscectomy, which is surgery to remove the torn section.
  4. Total meniscectomy, which is surgery to remove the entire meniscus. This is generally avoided, because this option increases the risk for osteoarthritis in the shoulder.
  5. Whenever possible, meniscus surgery is done using arthroscopy, rather than through a large cut in the shoulder.

Am 46 yrs old suffering from knee pain. Its osteoporosis. What is d best measure?

DNB Rheumatology, Grad. Cert. Paed. Rheumat, MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Rheumatologist, Bangalore
It is not osteoporosis . What you have is most probably osteoarthritis. The diagnosis needs to confirmed. If in fact you have osteoarthritis then you need to be assessed for comorbidities and needs to be put on an intensive exercise program with control of pain using safe pain modfiying medications instead of pain killers. This can be done best by a rheumatologist. If you let me know where you live I can give you a refernce of a nearby rheumatologist. You can contact me via my website www.Rheumatologybangalore.Com You can get more information regarding osteoarthritis from the document below. Hello. You must discontinue working out till the pain is there. Later can resume after some gap, but right now not to do. Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you.
