I am 42 years and am getting back pain from past two days. I want to know what would be the reason for back pain.
To find out the exact reason for the back pain needs radiological findings, blood examination, etc generally it may be due to sciatic or muscular cause.

I am 26 years old and I ended up twisting my knee 2 months back on 25th of March while dancing due to bad landing and since then I have been struggling to find what the injury actually is. I went for an MRI as advised which showed mild effusion in knee bones and no tears in ligaments and fracture in bones after taking rest for 3 weeks I consulted another doctor who asked to repeat the MRI as the knee was not healed and there was lot of fluid surrounding the knee due to which lot of swelling was there. In 2nd MRI it showed partial tear of ACL grade 2 and break of muscle fibres and mild joint effusion. Please suggest me the best option as the fluid has again surrounded after removing once by Doctor. Doing my exercises but hardly any recovery. Knee is quite stiff and pain is experienced only on the bones part so confused if it is bone injury or ACL injury. Moreover 2 doctors have advised for ACL surgery and 1 advised against it as it is more of a bone injury and a small partial tear of ACL.

Hi lybrate-user Here is the answer to your query Any injury to knee has combination of bone and soft tissue (ligament/ meniscus /muscle etc.) Acute phase MRI has less specificity of diagnosis due to tissue swelling /edema. So we should rely more on second mri. Treatment involves two or three objectives First priority is for following Reduce swelling Increase movement to full knee flexion. Once you achieve full movement of knee U should be reassessed for ligament laxity clinically and subjective symptoms of knee instability that ie give away sensation If you don't have any evidence of instability you may just continue with agressive rehab If evidence points to instability then ACL reconstruction Hope this helps Get well soon.

Sitting at a computer for long periods of time can take a toll on your body. By not sitting with the correct posture, it is easy to end up with back pain, neck pain, knee pains, and a tingling of the hands and fingers. Here are some tips on maintaining good ergonomics and staying comfortable at your desk during the day. Note: a 2006 study indicated that rather than an up-right position a more relaxed one at 135 degrees is suggested to relieve lower back pain.

Gout - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

Gout - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

Gout: a brief idea: In the simplest of words gout can be defined as the inflammation of joints due to continuous accretion of urate crystals. An excess of uric acid can make a person suffer from gout. There could be a higher percentage of uric acid in a person's blood due to two chief reasons; an inept excretory system that fails to rid your body of surplus acid and also greater production of the acid. Arthritis is of three kinds; gout is one of those three. Homeopathy is known for its efficacy in treating gout.

Homeopathic remedies for gout:

  1. Urtica urens can cure gout: This homeopathic medicine is prescribed by a professional practitioner if the person is susceptible to cold. Urtica urens can work on a patient if he or she is allergic to snow,  air, touch and water. Hive like eruptions on your ankles, wrists, and shoulders can be treated through regular consumption of this medication.
  2. Ledum can relieve you of pain: A painful, swollen area that develops on the small joints such as the joints of your toe fingers can be cured with the use of Ledum. The sensation of shooting pain in your limbs or feet can also be dealt with Ledum. Apart from that swollen small joints can be given momentary respite by falling back upon the cold compression therapy. Patients are advised to take this medicine if they exhibit intolerance to external warmth.
  3. Lycopodium is effective on sore joints: Chalky deposits of urate can be found in a person's knees. This results in chronic gout. Chronic gout has symptoms like limited urination. The urine may or may not have red sediments. People have also been reported with symptoms like extreme backache. Lycopodium successfully cures cases of unceasing gout.
  4. Try out benzoic acid for a big toe: If your gout is accompanied by stinking yellow urine you probably need Benzoic acid. Gout could be so severe that it might result in a stiff limb. In certain cases it makes a person limp. The thumb of your feet might get swollen making you have a big toe. A big toe usually kills you with tearing pain.
  5. Arnica deals with bruises: Arnica is your go to solution in case of a throbbing, stinging pain in any part of the body. This medication is a cherished answer to aches in every household. When gout is tender and it hinders free movement, this medicine comes to your aid. The medicine also heals bruised eruptions. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

I'm 17 years old. I have backache from 2 months. I take so many medicines but haven't any relief. What can I do?
Go to any ayurvedic panchkarma centre and try kati vasti treament along with basti chikitsa. And when you get symptomatic relief then try some yogasans. Yogasans are the ultimate solution for any back pain. Medicine or surgery can give you relief for one time but reoccurrence can be managed only with yogasans.

Dear lybrate-user, The sound that your knee makes is perfectly fine unless it is not associated with pain and discomfort, so rest assured, do regular exercises and take a healthy diet.
