Hi, I am 21 year old. I have stretch marks on my thighs. What to do to remove stretch marks. Can you please suggest me any ointment.

Sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, heredity factors, stress and changes in physical conditions leads to stretch marks. Stretch marks happen after delivery too. Stretch marks can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable about your appearance. But, don't worry, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The stretch marks fade away with time. 1. Try to scrub the area daily and put vitamin e oil 2. You can also apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes 3. Use aloe vera gel on the area once a day 4. Use rich cocoa butter before going.

Hello 1. Most important thing is to have an ample amount of rest as a routine part of your life. Sleep for at least 8 hours. You can also take a 30-45 mins nap after your lunch. 2. Limit your screen life. Take breaks while working on computer and wash eyes frequently with cold water. 3. Wash your face twice with a good cleanser like tea tree face wash and use soothing toner like rose water or tea tree after that. 4. Use Kojic Acid based cream below eyes for at least 4 months to help lighten your dark circles.

Find Out the Real Facts About Sunscreen

MBBS, MD - Dermatology, DNB
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Find Out the Real Facts About Sunscreen

No sunscreen provides absolute protection from the harmful rays of the sun but using the right product in the right way will take you far in shielding yourself from their harshness.

Read on to find the real facts about sunscreen:

  1. Putting sunscreen on your skin once is enough to protect you throughout the day: Most people apply sunscreen only once before heading out of the house, and don't reapply it again throughout the entire day. Contrary to popular belief, this does not provide protection for the entire day as most sunscreens lose their effect with time. To ensure that your skin remains protected you need to reapply sunscreen once every 2 hours, and once every 40-80 minutes if you are engaging in activities like swimming and exercising.
  2. You do not need to apply sunscreen in winters or you are when indoors: Winter skin is relatively more sensitive than summer skin which is tanned. If one is in hilly areas or snow covered regions there is reflection of UV light from the snow that causes more skin damage. Also glass can allow UV rays to pass through and indoor lighting can also be a source of UV exposure, therefore you should apply sunscreen even when you are indoors.
  3. Waterproof sunscreens won't wash off: Even if your sunscreen is waterproof, you need to reapply it at regular intervals if you are pursuing water sports like swimming or are the kind who washes their face frequently. When a sunscreen is typified as waterproof, it actually means that the composition of the sunscreen makes it suitable for functioning for a maximum of 1 hour and 20 minutes under water. Moreover, sunscreens containing a 'water-resistant' label can bear water immersion up to at most 40 minutes.

So, irrespective of whatever the label of the sunscreen mentions, you need to reapply sunscreen every hour to protect your skin effectively.

Sir/ mam. My skin was becoming black day by day. As I was fair earlier. What should I do. Would you suggest me?

1. Avoid direct contact with sunlight. use sunscreen. 2. Apply pure honey to your face, leave it on for a few minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. This simple remedy will help remove dead skin cells, making your skin appear brighter and fresher than before. Do this once daily. 3. To make a skin-lightening mask, combine one teaspoon each of honey and lemon juice, one tablespoon of powdered milk, and one-half teaspoon of almond oil. Mix them well and apply it gently on the skin. Leave it on for 10 to15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Do this every other day....

Don't Let Shampoo Residue Ruin Your Hair

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Don't Let Shampoo Residue Ruin Your Hair

A quick wash in the morning is all that people do to keep their hair and scalp clean. But did you know you can end up with dirtier hair than before if you don't wash off the shampoo properly?

Improper washing of hair post-shampooing can lead to the build up of shampoo residue in your hair, which only adds to the dirt you try to clean by shampooing. Also, excessive build-up of product residue causes hair and scalp irritation and even impedes hair growth.

How do you know if you have shampoo residue in your hair?

Here's how:

  • It feels as though there is a layer of heavy coating on the hair mass
  • You hair feels flat as though there has been a loss of volume
  • You hair appears dull, dry and dirty despite being freshly washed
  • Styling of hair becomes difficult and time
  • Consuming the signs of shampoo residue build-up closely resemble that of hair damage

In order to prevent it, thorough rinsing is of utmost importance. In fact, rinsing your hair for a minimum of two minutes post-shampoo is strongly advised in order prevent build-up. Also, using a clarifying shampoo regularly clears residue out of the hair and unnecessarily over-applying the product should always be avoided.Cleanse your hair once a week to keep it fresh and healthy and use a good shampoo with a formula that is suited to your hair.

Please take rhus tox 12 - every 6 hourly. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. Continue treatment.

Dear, These are the causes of acne: • excessive sebum production (sebum is oily secretion from the gland). • Due to hormonal imbalance. These are the methods & instructions to avoid acne: • To control the sebum secretion you should maintain your hormonal level. Because imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. * Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Use a face pack of fuller's earth (multani mitti) with rose water one time in a day for seven days. It removes toxins from skin. * Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes.

Hello Bhagyashri, White spots that are present on your face if appear temporarily and disappear on their own can be due to Vitamin or Calcium deficiency. However if the white spots are very bright, they need to be seen properly. If you can send a picture of the spots i will be able to diagnose them and suggest the most appropriate treatment option for you.

Why there are more pimples in summer
I sweat a lot and drink lots of water still pimples appear What is the solution?
Avoid heavy sweating if you think it causes your acne to get worse. Wash soon after activities that cause you to sweat. Wash your hair often if your hair is oily. Try to keep your hair off of your face. Avoid hair care products such as gels, mousses, cream rinses, and pomades that contain a lot of oil. Avoid touching your face protect ur skin from too much sun wash ur hair alternate day Wash your pillowcase Technically, a pillowcase should be washed at the very 2 times a week. While most of us don’t practice this, when it comes to keeping your skin fresh and healthy, it might help to get a little picky about your pillowcase. If you never wash it, all the stuff that gets rubbed onto it then comes in contact with your face for around 6-8 hours every night, and can exacerbate your acne.
