Hello TSH @ 5.37 is near normal but on higher side. It need to be taken care of. But I would suggest you take good homeopathy medicines that can set the system right. Continuing the earlier Rx will only be giving you temporary relief. Your current TSH level will not affect your baby anyway Regards

She has uterus cancer is surgery a better option for her? What will be the consequences?

MD - General Medicine, D.M. medical oncology
Oncologist, Mumbai
She has uterus cancer is surgery a better option for her? What will be the consequences?
Dear lybrate-user Uterus Cancer management involves three modalities: surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Depending on the clinical stage of the patient [ which is determined on CT scan ],condition of the patient, further therapy is planned. If disease is localised [ which your doctor will decide based on imaging tests],surgery is the best treatment possible in this disease. After surgery, depending on the pathological stage, further therapy is planned i.e whether further radiation and chemotherapy is required or not.In the unfortunate circumstance of the disease being advanced [ metastatic ] ,then only chemotherapy is advised and surgery or radiation may be given depending on her symptoms. SO THE BEST OPTION IN HER CASE ENTIRELY DEPENDS ON THE CLINICAL STAGE OF THE DISEASE. The consequences of surgery if she undergoes surgery to an extent depends on whether the ovaries are also removed or not. She will have minimal risk of post operative complications and premature menopause [ if ovaries are also removed]

Myths & Facts About Masturbation In Men and Women!

Myths & Facts About Masturbation In Men and Women!

Masturbation is very common and most people indulge in it at some stage or the other in their lives. With online content becoming the main research material, there are lots of myths about masturbation in both men and women. Read on to know some of the common myths and facts about this in males and females.

Myth vs. Fact #1: The common myth is that men who masturbate regularly will have erectile dysfunction. The reality is that the body gets used to certain types of touch, like your own hand or vibrations, and therefore achieving pleasure with a partner may require slight practice and time. It, however, does not cause erectile dysfunction per se. It is a common belief that people who masturbate are sexually exhausted and would not be able to perform when actually with a partner. This is not true, for as long as the person is stimulated and desires sex, they can indulge in it with no cap on the number of instances that a person can be involved in the act.

Myth vs. Fact #2: Indulging in masturbation is an abnormal part of sexual growth. Though most would not admit it, there are anonymous studies which reveal a large number of people (about 70% of the boys and 60% of the girls) in the age group of 15 to 18 indulge in masturbation. This indicates that it is a very normal part of growing up. Children should be educated that it is normal to touch and explore the genitals, but should know the limitations.

Myth vs. Fact #3: People in relationships do not masturbate. Whether single or in a relationship, people masturbate, and this does not mean they are unhappy in their relationships. Depending on the levels of sexual desire and stimulation, some would indulge in masturbation despite being in a healthy relationship with a partner. Some people could indulge in the act together, which also has benefits like avoiding pregnancy.

Myth vs. Fact #4: Masturbation has no good effects. Just as sex acts as a good stress buster, masturbation does too. The good health benefits of masturbation include better sleep, reduced levels of stress and tension, improved concentration, reduced headaches, increased self-esteem, and an overall happy being. In women, this also helps improve vaginal dryness, which is a major cause of painful vaginal sex.

Myth vs. Fact #5: Masturbation has emotional side effects. Over indulgence surely can affect work, school, or social life, but it is not true for everybody. If that is the case, the person requires counselling. Else, it is a part of normal growing up and does not cause any physical or mental problems.

If it is hemorrhagic cyst, it is likely to resolve with or without medications. Wait for a couple of months and rescan again. Generally it is not the cause of recurrent abortions like in your case. Did you do tests like thrombophilia profile? recurrent abortions require a detailed workup and at times the cause may still be difficult to know. Most of the times there is no problem with conception and only fetal growth is the issue.

U r too young to be worried so much for pregnancy. Relax. Miscarriages happen. Mostly do not recur and next pregnancy occurs without any problem. Do not worry too much. Start tab folic acid 5 mg once a day if you really want pregnancy right now and relax. Stress decreases chances of getting pregnant.

7 Reasons Why Papaya Is So Good For You

7 Reasons Why Papaya Is So Good For You

7 reasons why papaya is so good for you

The gift of Mexicans to the world, papaya or papita is a native of central America. Christopher Columbus nicknamed it as 'fruit of the angel' owing to its heavenly taste and out of the world aroma.

Papaya is loaded with several nutrients such as vitamin a, e, c and folic acid which make it beneficial for our health. It is easily available in the market throughout the year. Here are some of the health benefits that the fruit has to offer:

1. Lowers cholesterol

Papaya is rich in vitamin c, which prevents the accumulation of cholesterol in arteries. Vitamin c is an excellent reducing agent, therefore, blocks the oxidation of cholesterol. The oxidation leads to cholesterol deposition in arteries. High cholesterol is linked to higher risks of heart attack. Eat a combination of papaya and oatmeal in the morning for a healthy breakfast.

2. Improves digestion

The fruit contains an enzyme called papain, which facilitates protein breakdown in the stomach allowing proper absorption of nutrients. Eating papaya after a meal will keep your tummy fit and fine as it prevents bloating and indigestion.

3. Helps in weight loss

To lose the extra kilos, the digestive system must function properly and this is where papaya proves to be beneficial. As stated above the digestive properties of the fruit makes it an excellent fat burner. You can have papaya smoothie for your breakfast. Just mix mashed papaya with milk and drink. Add some fruits to the shake to make it yummy.

4. Delays ageing

This attribute of papaya might have forced Columbus to name it as the fruit of the angel. Eating half a papaya daily delays the aging process. The antioxidant beta-carotene present in it plays the role of the anti-aging agent. To bring a glow on your skin you can use the papaya- honey mask. Mash half a papaya and mix it with 4 spoons of honey to make a paste. Now apply this on your face and neck and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Finally, rinse it with cold water.

5. Boosts immunity

Since it is rich in vitamin c, it is an excellent immunity booster. A medium sized papaya contains more than 100% of the daily requirement of vitamin c. So, it's a must have fruit for those suffering from fever or flu.

6. Improves vision

Papaya being rich in carotenoids, the fruit is excellent eye insurance. Carotenoids, help against age-related eye disease such as macular degeneration- a condition that causes blindness. Try to eat at least 3 or more servings of papaya to reap maximum benefits.

7. Fights cancer

Red-fleshed papayas contain a high dose of lycopene, an antioxidant that reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease. One cup of it contains over 2500 micrograms of lycopene. So, have a cup of red fleshed papayas every day to fight cancer.

We want to do normal sex, not deep in vagina but only on the upper part of vagina with condom so that no sperm reaches the face of cervix. Guide me what to do we do not like anal or oral sex, we want only live vaginal sex, if it effects the womb in this age we will restrict ourselves. Please tell.

Hello- sex, especially vaginal sex during the pregnancy results in contraction of the abdomen of the female and can cause miscarriage/premature delivery. So try not to to vaginal sex. However you can try oral or anal sex by taking positional precautions.

Stop antodepression medicenes and start ayurvedic medicenes for that you can make love every day of the month in order to get pregnant, but experts say that it's best to make love every two days during your fertile period. This increases the amount of sperm released during intercourse, especially if there is a low sperm count problem with the male partner. The most important aspect in how to get pregnant is to avoid old eggs and old sperm. Make sure you ovulate between day 12-16 of your cycle and that your luteal phase is at least 10-12 days long. Your chances of conceiving increase by having sex in the missionary position with the woman's pelvis tilted upward toward the cervix by using a pillow. This position allows faster entry of the sperm through the cervix and into the uterus. It also helps if the woman has an orgasm at the same time as her partner. During an orgasm, the cervix pulsates drown more sperm inside the reproductive tract. After sex, you should remain lying on her back for an additional 15-20 minutes. If you want to use natural gender selection you should know that sex timing is different when conceiving a boy than when conceiving a girl. To conceive a boy have sex close to ovulation and you the missionary position. To conceive a girl have sex several days before ovulation. Lose weight weigh loss before pregnancy increases fertility and ensures a healthy pregnancy. If you are overweight and trying to get pregnant, consider spending some time following a weight loss program that really works to help you lose weight and reach a health conception weight. The ideal bmi for conception is 20 to 25. Being either underweight or overweight can cause problems with ovulation.
