Applying the coconut oil to the face and skin and after that bathing with soap causes any skin pigmentation or leads to darkness of skin r what?

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS, MBA (Healthcare)
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Coconut oil is fine, but because it's thick, your can block your pores and follicles and cause acne which may cause pigmentation. The other scenario is if your allergic to some excipient in the oil which can cause pigmented contact dermatitis.

I have complete LBBB, now my BP at times is 150/90. What precautions should I take. What causes LBBB and what precautions should I take for this.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bundi
Blocks can be removed by LEKHAN herbs as also some herbs like DHAMASA (Fegonia) help dissolve clots in the vessels. These are harmless. However switching to Ayurveda means long term therapy. But I ask one thing: does the Allopathic medicine for such conditions are discontinued any time in life generally. The answer is NO. So wisdom is to prevent such conditions by AYURVEDA principles of 'Dincharya' If emergency happens, allopathic treatment is best for saving life. Gradually the Ayurveda be taken parallel by introducing required Ayurveda medicines. Slowly allopathic may be withdrawn but all the things be done under monitoring of all the modern essential tests and advise of specialists. No pathy is entirely bad or good. Utilization should be to the maximum benefit of human kind. Precautions are no trans fats, restrictions in salt intake, regularity in medicine, adopting Pranayam, meditation, walks, destressing etc If you need to take Ayurveda treatment, pl consult with full details.

How to reduce weight within 7 days please suggest some diet chart or exercises which I can do ?

M.sc Food & Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
There is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

How I'll find that I'm a depression patient? Kindly let me know? Help me Thank you.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Hello, There are many aspects of depression, the more of them you have the more likely you are to have a clinical depression. Some patients feel severely depressed and suicidal. If you have these feelings you should go to the emergency department immediately. Other things that people with depression can feel are sadness, low energy, lack of motivation, poor sleep, irritability, weight gain or loss, poor self image and sometimes even a lack of touch with reality. The more of these symptoms you have the more likely it is that you have serious depression. Treatments for depression include medications, counseling and exercise. Again the more of these you do the better your chance for a successful treatment. Good luck to you,
