Sir kuch din pehle mein nib khol raha tha front Wale teeth se to uska thoda sa chura nikal aaya. Kuch din tak to koi problem nahi hui ab jab main kuch garam khata hu to usme zhanzhanahat si hoti hai, halka fulka dard hota h. Fir baad mein thik ho jata hai. What should I do right now. Ye daant nikalwana to nahi padega. Agar nikalwana pada to jitna kharcha aa jayega.

Dentist, Bhavnagar
Aapka daant tut gya hai. Kaha tak tuta hai ye janne ke bad uska treatment decide ho skta hai. Agar tute daant ka pulp damage n hua ho to daant k upar composite filling kr ke use pehle jaisa build up kr skte hai. Agar pulp damage hua hai to root canal treatment krni pdegi. Aur us daant ka root fracture hua ho to most probably wo daant niklvana pdega. Aap dentist ke pas jaie aur uski advice leke treatment krvaie. Possible ho to apke tute daant ka photo aur uska x-ray krvaya ho to x-ray ka photo muje mail kijiye. So that I can advice you about treatment.

5 Reasons That Cause Plaque

MDS(Prosthodontist), BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
5 Reasons That Cause Plaque

Plaque is a film that forms over the teeth. This film is sticky in nature and it is also colorless. It is formed due the presence of bacteria and materials secreted by the bacteria. Plaque has the potential to damage the enamel of the tooth. If plaque is not treated within a reasonable amount of time, then it becomes hard in texture and causes even more damage.

Reasons that cause plaque:

1. Failure to brush every day: This is the chief reason behind the formation of plaque. Teeth must be brushed twice every day in order to keep them clean and healthy. If food particles remain stuck in the groves of the teeth, they can lead to many problems, like cavities and plaque. Each area of the teeth should be cleaned with a suitable toothbrush. The insides of the teeth should not be neglected.

2. Failure to floss every day: Flossing is unfortunately not so common in India. Brushing helps to keep the teeth clean overall but it does not reach some of the spaces between the teeth. Flossing is therefore required to make sure that the plaque on the gum line and other problematic areas are removed.

3. Excessive consumption of sweet and sugary food: Foods like cakes, muffins, sweetmeats, cold drinks, ice creams etc contain carbohydrates which the bacteria tend to feed on. In the process of creating the film of plaque, they turn the sugar into acid, which causes damage to the tooth. Such foods should, therefore, be avoided as they cause plaque.

4. Avoiding natural foods that improve teeth: There are many natural foods which keep teeth healthy. Failing to include such foods in one's diet could lead to the formation of plaque. Fruits and vegetables like guava or carrots can serve this purpose.

5. Failing to visit the dentist regularly: Since dentists are experts when it comes to taking care of death, everyone should make sure to get dental checkups regularly. Even if one flosses and brushes regularly, plaque may still form. A dentist should be consulted regularly to check if any such formation has occurred. Failure to this may cause the formation of even more plaque and more damage.

Hello doctor, I have seen my mom tongue have black dots. What problem is this? Please tell me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Black spots on tongue can be an alarming site and can prompt you to wonder what their cause is. but noneed to worry a these spots could be caused by one of many, mostly harmless, causes. Here are some of the causes of black spots on the tongue, 1.Hyper-Pigmentation Hyper-pigmentation occurs when there is too much pigment (which gives our skin, hair and eyes their colour) in a certain area. This can be a genetic trait, or it can develop on its own. This is a harmless condition . 2.Tongue Piercing Sometimes black spots can be left behind on the tongue as a result of a tongue piercing. In the areas where you had the piercing you may have lost pigmentation and this then leaves small black marks. 3.Oral Cancer In rare cases black spots on the tongue may also be a sign of oral cancer. For this reason it is very important to get them checked over by an expert. Do not panic prematurely. Other symptoms of oral cancer are lumps in the mouth and difficulty in swallowing. 4.Smoking/Drinking If you smoke a lot or drink excess amounts of alcohol, then you can develop what's known as a hairy tongue. Of course this isn't hair like that found on the head, but rather fungus that grows on the tongue that appears as black clusters. This will disappear on its own if you stop drinking or smoking and is yet another good incentive to do so. 5.Injury Of course the tongue is a fairly unusual part of the body and is in fact a muscle. As such it tends to react slightly differently to cuts and wounds than would a part of the skin and sometimes areas where you've bitten or hurt your tongue can appear as dark patches. Homoeopathicmedicine LACHESIS 30 ( Dr Reckeweg) Drink2 drop direct on tongue twice daily for 2 months.

bad breath is associated with either intraoral or extraoral causes.... Deep carious lesions (dental decay) – which cause localized food impaction and stagnation Recent dental extraction sockets – fill with blood clot, and provide an ideal habitat for bacterial proliferation Interdental food packing – (food getting pushed down between teeth) - this can be caused by missing teeth, tilted, spaced or crowded teeth, or poorly contoured approximal dental fillings. Food debris becomes trapped, undergoes slow bacterial putrefaction and release of malodorous volatiles. Food packing can also cause a localized periodontal reaction, characterized by dental pain that is relieved by cleaning the area of food packing with interdental brush or floss. Acrylic dentures (plastic false teeth) – inadequate denture hygiene practises such as failing to clean and remove the prosthesis each night, may cause a malodour from the plastic itself or from the mouth as microbiota responds to the altered environment. The plastic is actually porous, and the fitting surface is usually irregular, sculpted to fit the edentulous oral anatomy. These factors predispose to bacterial and yeast retention, which is accompanied by a typical smell. Oral infections Oral ulceration Fasting Stress/anxiety Menstrual cycle – at mid cycle and during menstruation, increased breath VSC were reported in women. Smoking – Smoking is linked with periodontal disease, which is the second most common cause of oral malodor. Smoking also has many other negative effects on the mouth, from increased rates of dental decay to premalignant lesions and even oral cancer. Alcohol Volatile foodstuffs – e.g. onion, garlic, durian, cabbage, cauliflower and radish. Volatile foodstuffs may leave malodorous residues in the mouth, which are the subject to bacterial putrefaction and VSC release. However, volatile foodstuffs may also cause halitoisis via the blood borne halitosis mechanism. Medication – often medications can cause xerostomia (dry mouth) which results in increased microbial growth in the mouth.

Improper brushing can damage your teeth. A proper brushing is done with extra soft toothbrush & fluoridated toothpaste for only 2minutes. Always include dental floss and mouthwash in oral hygiene. Keep smiling always

Clean the surface of your tongue daily. By using a professional tongue cleaner you remove countless bacteria that otherwise live, particularly on the rougher top surface of your tongue. These can contribute to bad breath and negatively affect your dental health.

I have some pain in my teeth for someday, when I eat some food. Please give me solution what I do now?

Dentist, Jamshedpur
There may be cavity in your tooth. Go for x-ray to know about the extent of the cavity. After that treatment can be decided either filling or rct. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water

Don't rush, when you brush: For maximum results, brush your teeth for atleast 2 to 3 minutes.

Is there a treatment for bad breath? I should I go and ask the doctor abt it? And also which hospital offers treatment for bad breath/halitosis.

Hello, bad smell from mouth could be because of deposits or food lodgement between teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. It could also be because of cold, acidity, stomach problems, not drinking enough water, not eating or fasting for long intervals. Brush twice daily, floss regularly. You can avoid it by rinsing after every 1-2 hours.

I have bad breath problem. My breath always tends to smell an hour later of having a meal. My teeth are not white as well, despite brushing everyday. I always have to keep a packet of'saunf' as a natural mouth freshener. What should I do?

Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. Dry mouth also can cause bad breath. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath, you may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

I am 18 years old. I want to ask how do I whiten my tooth either by naturally or medical treatments.

Dentist, Bangalore
Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

Hello sir, My lower jaw from right side pains when I speak or eat something. What should i do?

MDS - Prosthodontist and Implantologist, Root canal certificate, BDS

Hi, pain from your lower jaw can be due to many reasons. Since your age is 18 and you complain of pain in the jaw it can be due to the eruption of your third molars also called as wisdom teeth. I would advise you to get it clinically checked at a dentist.
