My mother s having back pain she wearing belt sence from 9 years any soln for her back pain.

Doctor Of Physical Therapy (DPT), Bachelor of Physical Therapy
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
My mother s having back pain she wearing belt sence from 9 years any soln for her back pain.
Back ache can be due to several reasons. It can be muscular, related to disc degeneration or prolapse, joint irritation or nerve pinching. Most common is muscle pain due to tight and weak back and abdominal muscles. Keep a positive attitude, focus more on keeping good posture especially when sitting for long hours, use lumbar support. Take frequent breaks and stretch in between. Try changing sleeping habits. Try hot or cold therapy as tolerated. Wish you speedy recovery wearing belt for such a long time is not advisable as the muscles get too much support and become very weak. Check with an orthopaedic to confirm if she ready needs to wear the belt otherwise it may be actually making her back weak.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Press the point on the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from toe in the foot 20 times by pressing and releasing with a blunt edge of a pen. Further rotate your foot clockwise and anticlockwise 10 times. Massage your leg with both hands.

Why Do I Get Knots in Muscles in Neck and Back ?

MPT, BPT
Physiotherapist, Noida
Why Do I Get Knots in Muscles in Neck and Back ?

What are muscle knots?
Muscle knots are points within a muscle where contracted fibers are unable to release, or, as the dictionary puts it: highly irritable localized spots of exquisite tenderness in a nodule in palpable taunt bands of muscle tissue.

A common problem for active people, muscle knots technically called myofascial trigger points, or mtps feel like a small knot to your fingertips. These knots can range from the size of a pinhead in smaller muscles to the size of your thumb in larger muscles. 2

Muscle knots can cause pain in two ways: (1) latent trigger points, which are knots that only hurt when you put pressure on them, and (2) active trigger points, which are knots that actively refer pain along your neural pathways, causing it in non-localized areas.

Trigger points in a constant state of contraction have excess metabolic waste and oxygen use because blood flow to this area stops this sends pain signals to the brain. Because your brain wants to stop the pain, it commands the muscle to rest, which leads to under-usage of the muscle. This is what makes the muscle shorten and tighten up.

What causes muscle knots?
The most common causes of muscle knots are:

1) accidents acute trauma, such as bad falls sports injuries that strain you joints and muscles

2) postural stress sitting too long with poor posture, sitting with no support, lifting improperly

3) overstimulation

Panic and anxiety disorder can be treated effectively with a combination of the right medications along with relaxation and behaviour therapy. Medical causes of such panic episodes also have to be investigated in detail to form the most appropriate management plan. Consult a good psychiatrist in your city with details of your complaints. Quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Hello, back pain can be immediately resolved by a skilled orthopedic physiotherapist. If you met with an injury due to fall or something, then the advice and protocols will be different. Get your back pelvis and spine adjusted by a skilled orthopedic spinal manual therapist. Till then you can apply hot pack in pain site for 20 mins twice. Apply ketoplast pain plaster at the painful site and keep it for 24 hours. Re-apply another if needed. Don't lie on your stomach, sleep on your side. Don't bend forward to be on the safe side untill you get examined. Don't bed bound yourself, keep your back moving because motion is lotion! hope it helps. Thanks.

I regularly going to gym for two years. Recently I have very high pain in the back .i can not sit .what do I do.
Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture during gym or daily activities. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. Follow these to get relief. 1. Take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen round the clock for 5 days for pain relief. 2. Take rest for 3 to 4 days but avoid total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily once pain is relieved. 5. Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 6. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. While sleeping on sides keep pillow between knees. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling, numbness or weakness, consult immediately don't worry such backache resolves with proper care as advised above. For further queries consult again.

I play cricket in the evening on a regular basis. My body aches badly after I wake up in the morning. What do I do?
Do regular exercises for warmup. Do stretching after playing. You might be suffering from dehydration and lack of nutrition. You must keep drinking water during practice. Drink 3 glass water 90 minutes before starting practice. Then drink water regularly during practice. If possible, measure your weight before you start practice and after you finish practice. If you have lost weight in that time, means you are dehydrated. Drink double the weight loss. For eg if 200 gm weight is reduced, drink 400 ml water or energy drink. High protein diet is necessary for recovery and building muscles. Dr. Prashant parate shoulder and knee surgeon arthroscopy and joint replacement specialist sports injuries specialist.
