I am a 54 years old lady suffering from a continuous abdominal problem and lumbar and cervical spondylitis. I have been taking Pregaba M for two months since July and now am taking Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg daily since September. But the pain persists and has been aggravating to numbness of fingers and severe pain in foot. Till when do I have to continue this? And is there something other medicine for the same?

Dear lybrate-user JI. Nothing to worry about much. Generally spondilitis cases required prolonged treatment. You have not mentioned about your weight. Do meditation and Pranayama regularly with a little physiotherapy. Worrying does not solve the problem at the same time increases the issue. So meditation will help you lot. Read divine books and spend time with good friends. We prepare good medicines for this problem .But if you decide to take treatment for a minimum period of six months only you consult with me. If Diabetes and BP persists continue the treatment. Wishing you speedy recovery.

I had a knee injury 5 years before but again its start paining if I am sitting or giving stress on my knee please suggest.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

check ur suger level and apply ice pack on swelled area. avoid long standing and do gently stretching exercise. 14 glass water per day avoid spicy food do core strength exercise

• Quadriceps strengthening exercises- • Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and Get your vital parameters of the body checked from a nearby doctor and follow up with findings.

I am 39 years old and I am having left shoulder pain. Sometimes front all get stiffness. Due to which I am getting regular ecg so that this is not heart problem. I am having bp since last 4 years. high cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

3 months back I got fracture in my anchor. Now I feel in my foot. What should I do?

Hi lybrate-user, your fracture must have been healed you can start contrast bath (hot water and cold water) by immersing your leg in a tub you will be relieved from your pain later you can do strengthening exercises for your ankle and foot. Wish you speedy recovery.

Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

The reason of the swelling has to be ruled out either it is any injury or work related problem or anything else. If it has appeared withput any stress or strain or any other cause than do ice application on the affected area 3-4 times a day and give rest to your shoulder do not strain or lift heavy weight.

Knee pain- reasons can be- * cold weather *sitting in inconvenient posture constantly, without changing your position or without movement, *wearing ill fitting sandals, *lack of exercise or *internal disorder like arthritis. Point to observe- * if you have difficulty in climbing stairs, take lift while going upstairs. If there is no lift, go up slowly. * if it is due to strain of games or injury, take rest. * if it is due to obesity, reduce weight. * if it is due to constant sitting at a particular posture, change posture and engage in slow walk. * walking regularly at slow pace without unduly straining helps as it improves blood circulation around knee and eases the joint. *you can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take rhustox 200---twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 7 days

Hello! The sound you mentioned is actually called Crepitus. It is usually because of a weak knee joint. Consult a physiotherapist, start Calcium supplement. Do knee strengthening exercises of the knee joint. You will definetely feel better.

It's occurs due tto weakness. You should take sufficient cacalcium food like milk, egg, fruits. And continue some muscle strengthening exercise daily. Shold keep good sex position, in which you are more comfortable. Some times feet irritation occurs due to heavy acidity. So take proper breakfast.

Take proper treatment for sciatica other wise your movement is restricted result is weight gain, this weight also worsen the sciatica pain. Advise go for ayurvedic consultation you can use 7 leafs of harsingar (parijat patra) boil it in 200 ml water and reduced up 60 ml take it with empty stomach daily, this reduce the sciatica pain.

The condition is called plantar fascitis, contrast bath that is cold pack followed by hot pack will help you and once you get up in the morning walk first 5 to 10 steps on your toes and then keep your heel. You can also consult a physiotherapist.
