I daily take 2 mg Extended release of glimepiride + Metformin in morning as I am suffering from diabetes since 1 year. On official holidays like sunday I only take one plate poha without taking sugar tablet. But after 2 hours of it my PP is 245. Kindly help me.

I have a problem that I frequently have mood swings nothing seems good to me. I get angry on small small things very frequently since my childhood. One thing I also want to tell that I do not have any support from my parents side. Things are so difficult with me that I even don't want to live with them. I am also having sleeping disorder. I get irritated very frequently on such small things. And in my mind there is always negative thought going on. I imagine things a lot. I have a lot of negativity surround me. I do things though I know it very well that what I am doing is not right. I don't have any control on my mind. I want to be alone. I am also headache problem. Please recommend me some therapy or some exercise so that I can overcome from my problem.

Dear lybrate-user, You may be suffering from a Personality Disorder - may be borderline or emotionally unstable personality disorder. Please consult a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist for either diabolic or cognitive therapy. It may take many sessions over 6 - 9 months. It is worth. You are just 22 years. You need to settle in life, marriage, carrier etc. Let not your personality disturb your life, especially relationships too much.

Increase intake of protein by eating eggs, cheese, panner, soya yogurt. Neverskip meals. And first remove the psychological feeling that whatever you do or eat you will not gain weight. Ther half of problem is solved.

Focus on eating whole grains and cereals, legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables. And go for foods that provide plenty of protein, calcium, and iron (and, as always, an occasional treat is fine). Traditionally, breastfeeding mums are given a lot of dried fruit, ghee and sugar. These high calorie foods usually were meant to supplement the khichdi diet that mums traditionally follow after birth. If you are eating normal food, you can leave out the extra ghee and sugar. Dried fruits are extremely healthy and used in most traditional confinement foods. Try having them without the ghee and sugar by putting them in your porridge (dalia) for example or in some kheer. This way your relatives will be happy that you are eating the traditional ingredients but you will not be loaded with the high calories. If you must eat the laddoos or panjiri you can reduce the calorie count by eating smaller portions. Some recipes could work well with lesser quantities of ghee and for others you could use a healthier alternative such as canola oil. If you are used to having aerated drinks to quench your thirst it is best to avoid these while breastfeeding. They contain just empty calories and no nutrition. You could instead substitute it with healthier drinks such as lassi, coconut water, buttermilk (chhaach), fresh fruit and vegetable juices or nimbu pani.

Best way to reduce fat is exercise and diet control. Take pranacharya medohar rasayn twice a day. Medohar guggul 2-2 twice a day. And pranacharya slim capsule 1-1 twice a day. Avoid junk food. Oily food. Fermented food. Sugar. Milk products and sweets. Take oats and cereals more. And do pranayama early in the morning and walk for atleast 45 minutes a day. And do exercises. Yes their is a possible treatment for PCOD. You can go and take doctor's advice. And for weight gain you need to follow a good diet plan like avoid kunk food, oily and fried food, refined cereals etc. Go for high fibre breakfast like you can have 1 bowl vegetable poha, oats, oats idli etc with 1 glass of tonned milk then in mid morning have 1 bowl of papaya in lunch you can have 2 oat bran chapati + vegetable + curd+ salad then in evening 1 cup green tea + 5-6 soaked biscuits then in dinner time you can have 1-2 bowl vegetable soup + 1 bowl dalia. Weight gain is muscle gain and not fat gain. In your condition your energy requirement is very high so whatever you eat is used as a source of energy and you do not make muscle. To gain muscles you will have to eat at least 6 meals (high calorie) in a day at a regular interval with a proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins will help you gain body mass while carbohydrates will help you give energy. Protein foods are eggs, fish, chicken, milk and milk products, meat and dals. Carbohydrate foods are roti and rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes. You have to eat vegetables and fruits and use healthy and good fats for cooking like ghee, cold pressed mustrad or til oil. You will also have to do some weight training exercise to help you build mass into the body. Also drink enough water to keep you hydrated.

Last month I had injury in my palm with window glass and had stitches on wound. Now wound is healed but that stitches portion is sensitive, hard on touching and little swollen. What should I do? And how much time will it take to become normal?

It takes about 8 weeks for internal stitches to heal, means the wound must be deep, even if stitched from outside but the needle along with thread passes through deeper areas. Heat therapy will help you become normal quicker.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily. You can privately consult me for understanding more exercises.
