Bad breath can happen due to dry mouth, infected or decayed tooth, digestion problem etc. Finding the cause of the problem is very important to suggest a treatment. I suggest you to brush along with tongue cleaning, it may help you. And also consult a dentist.

The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Hi. I am 25 year old male. I had frequent mouth ulcers, that's why I can not able to eat properly. These ulcers are comes in frequent way. What should I do to stop these pain full mouth ulcers. please suggest me what type of food I have to take and give me some precautions.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

Sir. I am 25 year old and I have irregular teeth, what would be the cast for making in good shape?
You can go with orthodontic treatment to get your teeth aligned. This is done using braces. There are two types- metal and ceramic braces. If you r concerned about aesthetics you can opt for the second one that is ceramic or invisible braces.

Hi lybrate-user. The dentist may be advising you to remove it as a broken teeth has more chances of getting infected and then the infection may spread to other teeth. So better remove it and take an implantation.

The Benefits of Sealants

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
The Benefits of Sealants

Dental sealants act as a barrier to prevent cavities. They are a plastic material usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often.
Thorough brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth surfaces of teeth. But toothbrush bristles cannot reach all the way into the depressions and grooves to extract food and plaque. Sealants protect these vulnerable areas by 'sealing out' plaque and food.

Sealants are easy for your dentist to apply. The sealant is painted onto the tooth enamel, where it bonds directly to the tooth and hardens. This plastic resin bonds into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the chewing surfaces of back teeth.

The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque and acids. As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will be protected from decay. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and may last several years before a reapplication is needed.

During your regular dental visits, your dentist will check the condition of the sealants and reapply them when necessary.
The likelihood of developing pit and fissure decay begins early in life, so children and teenagers are obvious candidates. But adults can benefit from sealants as well.

Why Dental Implants Work So Well

Why Dental Implants Work So Well

Tooth lost to either decay or gum disease leaves a dent in many areas - facial appearance, chewing, facial structure support, etc.  Fixed dentures were a good substitute, however, with one major disadvantage.  They required removal of natural tooth structure from adjacent healthy teeth.  The next big search was to find ways to avoid this, and the result is the dental implant.

The tooth has a visible part called the crown and an invisible part called the root which is hidden in the jaw bone.  While the fixed denture replaces only the crown, the implant replaces both the crown and the root.

How implants are done: Once a tooth is lost and the bone is healed to the desired extent, a biocompatible titanium post that is screwed into the bone. This material has the unique property of osseointegration - it fuses to the bone, which is almost like a natural tooth in its socket.  This complete fusion may take about 2 to 6 months depending on overall health. After it gets absorbed well into the bone, a crown that matches the adjacent teeth is fixed on it.  Implants can also be used for replacing multiple teeth or for overdentures.

There are certain reasons why implants work so well, listed below are some:

  • The material: Titanium is biocompatible and does not cause any adverse reaction in the body.  It fuses to the bone completely and is not just put in place to fill the gap. That ensures that the support provided for the new crown or bridge is as good as the original tooth with a root embedded in the jaw bone
  • Post-implant care:  Required, but not to the extent required by dentures.  There is very minimal difference between caring for an implant and caring for an implant
  • Function: As the implant is completely fused and embedded in the bone, it functions as good as a natural tooth in terms of chewing efficiency and pressure that can be applied on it. This is not the case with dentures
  • Gum health: Bridges have an adverse effect on the gums with a constant mild pressure exerted on them.  Implants do not do that and therefore are more friendly on the gums
  • Bone health: While bridges affect the alveolar bone health by allowing them to continue to degenerate, implants occupy the space in the bone and do not allow further degeneration. This is probably the most important advantage of implants.
  • Aesthetics: Needless to say, the look of a well-done implant far surpasses that of the dentures.

Check with your dentist if you are an ideal candidate for implant, and if yes, it surely is worth the investment.

Detail and advantages of Dental Implant procedure

Hello, everyone. I am doctor Aman Ahuja. I am an implantology and a digital smile specialist working in Gurgaon. Today I am going to tell you about problems associated with missing teeth. Generally we think that the once the teeth are is extracted and probably once all the pain is gone and there is no other problem but the real thing is that the problem starts once you get the teeth extracted. Yes it is true. Once you get your teeth extracted the real problem starts then. What are the problems associated with missing teeth is my main topic for today. If you see to the video nearby. If you see the problems associated with missing teeth this video will explain you the details. Once teeth are missing any particular teeth in any part of your jaw.

For example if a lower molar is missing as you can see in the video over a period of time from 5 to 10 years you will see that the adjacent teeth will try to take its place and slowly they become bad. You will see the way the other teeth are coming and trying to take its place. Sorry over a period of time there will be four logement and ultimately your 3 teeth become loose because of just missing teeth. It is just like if you remove a brick from a wall, the whole world becomes weak. The same happens. Over a period of time if can observe some mild pain in few cases. So what is the perfect? How can we prevent this damage because of missing teeth. In this video we will give you the two solutions of a missing teeth.

Gone days when we used to give denture removable dentures and things like that. Hair we have the two solutions or fix teeth. As you can see in both cases we have one thing this is the implant option. Implant goes into the bone followed by the abutment along with a fixed teeth or a Crown it is cemented are screwed. So this is once a best solution that is dental implant. Once we decide we have to go for dental implants main question arises like does implant suits me? Can I go for dental implant? Is it painful? Lots of questions in your mind. All you need to do is take one x-ray and visit your dentist. The dentist will observe the quality of your Bone and will suggest you about the dental implant which will sort you.

Once you take your x-ray to the dentist he will observe the quality of the bone, your medical conditions and then you can proceed with the dental implant procedure. How many implants are required for you that can be assessed after we observe the X-ray. As lese as six implants can support one job for one individual teeth one implant can support. So how long will be the duration that exactly can be assessed after we observe your x-ray.

For any other details about dental implants you can definitely contact me on lybrate.

Avoid sticky sweets, such as toffees, soft candies and pastries. These types of foods stick to your teeth and feed decay-causing bacteria. When you do eat sweets, eat them after a meal. When candies are eaten alone, they are more likely to remain stuck between your teeth.
