MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
We need more investigation & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I Had Hyper Thyroid more than 10 Years. Now I Lost So Many Teeth. Is the effect of that disease?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Yes, there is absolutely a link between hyperthyroidism and dental health. In fact, there is such a strong link between thyroid problems and dental problems. In these patients, there is elevated risk of gum disease, heart disease, dry mouth (xerostomia), cavities, and dental caries, enlarged / swollen tongue (macroglossia, distorted sense of taste (dysgeusia) etc.

My mother has 6 infected teeth. One tooth is causing the maximum pain. After aceproxivon, ketorol DT (10 mg), antacids, antibiotics (for 3 weeks), the pain hasn't subsided. She has been prescribed tooth extraction but with this excruciating pain, the tooth is not being extracted too. Every night, post midnight, the pain shoots up. Even sleeping pills do not work. No pain killers have any effect. She has been complaining of a pain that feels like breaking her skull open originating from one infected tooth on the upper right jaw. For more than two weeks, she is sleepless. Please help!

BDS, MDS Pedriatric dentist
Dentist, Guwahati
Hi if the patient has being on antibiotics for 3 to 5 days then there is no reason why the tooth cannot be extracted as we can extract a paining tooth but not an infected tooth that too in some cases .A good antibiotics coverage followed by extraction is the only option which I can see according to your description.

I have pain in my jaws from last 2 months. please give me solutions. How can I get rid from this.

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Jaw pain can can be because of various reasons. Either it can be due to decay in teeth. Or because of improper contacts of your opposing teeth. Or a wisdom tooth trying to come. Last but not the least it can be due to a joint issue. Please see your dentist!

If the cap is placed after rct than you need to get re-rct. If not, than get your teeth x-rayed to determine the cause. It can be either due to decay or gum infection.

Both the teeth seems to be decayed long before and due to left untreated the decay lead to fracture of tooth. Booth the teeth can be possibly saved by undergoing root canal treatment and post and core(strengthening of broken tooth area) and a crown. Meet a dentist as soon as possible.TAKE CARE. DR.KAARTHIK.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

According tome your Eye pain has a nervous origin and gets triggereed by strong external impressions like Strong lights and internal factors like pains in the organs lying in the vicinity of eyes such as Tooth pain as the same nerve gets irritated that supplies your R.Eye. BDS
Dentist, Ujjain
Hello lybrate-user, the condition is known as periodontitis. It is caused due to improper oral hygiene which leads to continues deposition of plaque and debris which can not be removed with your daily brushing and leads your gums shift down and down. Consult nearest dentist for scaling. Thank you.

Doctor, my teeth are green type pls tel me that how my teeth are wight in good smile. Answer me doctor.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi lybrate-user, for better looking teeth, the first and most important thing is that your teeth should be clean, and free from plaque (accumulated food debris) and stains. For that, you must get professional scaling/cleaning done from a dentist. After that, you can head for tooth whitening procedures such as bleaching and laser tooth whitening. Home remedies such as lemon peel and apple cider vinegar can be used, but being acidic in nature, they eventually wear off the outermost layer of teeth (enamel) making them weak in the long run. So better to go for trusted scientific procedures. Hope that helps.

use interdental brush, as and when needed.
ask your dentist on how to use it.

I am brushing my teeth daily two times from last one year but still the colour of my teeth is yellow. How to make them white.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

I am having a pain in my back tooth region I consulted dentist for which he said its because of wisdom tooth and advised to remove it. I just want to know is there any treatment a can save my tooth.

Certified Implantologist, BDS
Dentist, Ambala
Wisdom teeth are a big problem when they are not aligned straight or have not erupted. The only situation where you can have your tooth saved is if it has erupted properly in proper alignment with the opposing tooth otherwise it is better to get it removed.
