Hi, Wash the external genitalia 4-5 times per day with Intiwash liquid and wipe it with a tissue to keep the area dry. Dust Keto dusting powder every 2-3 hours which arrests the fungal infection. If the problem persists, then consult a gynaecologist for further management.

How ICSI Can Help You Get Pregnant?

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
IVF Specialist, Delhi
How ICSI Can Help You Get Pregnant?

There are many reasons leading to infertility, but one of the main causes is the inability of the sperm to travel all the way up to the uterus to fertilize an egg. This is caused by defective sperms and could be due to poor sperm quality, poor motility, etc. There are multiple reasons for this, and even smoking, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, etc. could be reasons.

Many technical advancements in fertility treatments are being done, and they try to keep the natural process of fertilization intact, at the same time improving the chances of success. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI, often used as a standalone term iksee) improves the rate of fertilization in that the sperm is directly injected into the egg. The environment of this artificial fertilization is completely controlled, and the fertilized egg is then placed into the womb for further growth. It is one of the recent methods of improving fertility, a part of ART (assisted reproductive technology).

Indications:

  1. Poor sperm perms motility

  2. Semen where sperm concentration is low

  3. Male infertility with unidentifiable cause

  4. Poor sperm quality, with sluggish sperms

  5. Ejaculation issues, such as retrograde ejaculation (semen is ejected into the bladder)

  6. Useful in couples who have failed IVF.

What to expect?

The following outlines some of the steps for both male and female before and during the procedure.

Before the procedure - males:

  1. First step is the sperm collection; a screening is first done

  2. Sperms collection happens through either masturbation or directly from the testicles via a small incision

  3. Sperms could be collected fresh or collected and frozen for later use

Before the procedure – women:

  1. In the normal menstrual cycle, only a single egg is released. However, prior to ICSI, the woman is given ovulation drugs, which are high-dose hormone injections prior to ovulation. This ensures multiple eggs are released, which are then retrieved for fertilization in the external environment.

  2. Blood and urine are monitored regularly to identify the ovulation time, and eggs are collected within 24 to 36 hours of release

During the procedure - How ICSI happens:

  1. A healthy egg is chosen and placed in a glass tube, and a sperm is introduced to ensure fertilization

  2. This could be repeated in multiple tubes, and the most healthy one could be chosen to be implanted into the uterus

  3. Some of the fertilized ones could be frozen for later use, in case the implanted embryo fails to grow as expected

  4. The success rate for this procedure is quite high as the fertilization rate is almost 80 - 85 %. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an IVF specialist.

Hello lybrate user, - if your menstrual cycles are regular without any medication then it's a good symptom of pcos control - if it is irregular then acnes are quite common - if you want only home remedies then you can do some facepacks - yashtimadhu churna + rakthachandana churna mix with rose water and few drops of lemon daily once and leave for 15 min then wash - you can also adopt ayurveda panchakarma treatment for better results. Thank you.

How Sports play a role in overall health?

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
How Sports play a role in overall health?

Sports, makes sure that you are active, mentally and physically, even if you take a break for some time. If you were played a sport in your life and discontinued playing the sport because for your job, studies, family or any other reason and as a result put on weight, don’t worry, you just need to kick start your engine and your body will accelerate faster than others and make you lose on that stubborn fat, as your cells have the memory of being active. It’s never too late to start again

Sports when merely started as an extracurricular activity in school and college gives you a break from your studies. Eventually, it will help us as a kid to be fit and healthy.

Listing down some BONUS POINTS, because of Sports/ Physical Activity being a part of life:

*It teaches you to be patient, have a fighting spirit, and never settle for less in life.

*Even studies show that, children who have been into sports or are blessed with super active genes are always a quick learner, are very social with people, perform better at all the given tasks, they are more attentive in class and their grasping powers are better.

*Sports at an early age helps in life-long fitness habits.

*Earlier it was believed that any type of physical exertion can make a child feel more tired and thus less attention towards studies, which is now seen to be reversed. Where in the kids are more intellectual and perform better as compared to the sedentary kids.

*Also looking at the growing occurrence of Teenage Obesity, Sports can again be a great advantage.

* Any sport or activity will give them a dash of endorphins, thus reducing any kind of stress

Sports do not help kids alone but, it has a similar effect on adults too. Adults who play a sport perform better at work, have a good career graph, they are better in dealing with emotional issues, more energy over the day, lesser health issues and so on.

Don't sit back and say I am old, bring the kid out of you and play a sport and encourage your child to play too!

I have pcod. Before doing IUI doctor suggested HSG which show bilateral hydrosalpnix tubal blockage. So I consult many doctors some are saying do laproscopy and other one are saying go directly to IVF. I am bit confuse what to do which is to be done. Is there any side effects of laproscopy ? how many month should we TTC after laproscopy? IF open tube through IUI or IVF?

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, Certified IVF Specialist
IVF Specialist, Gurgaon
If u have large hydrosalpinx, better to go for laparoscopy before ivf as chances of pregnancy with hydrosalpinx would b reduced by half. Alongside rule out tubercular infection. If tubes can b opened at laparoscopy try 6 months naturally. If doesn' t work out proceed for ivf.

Chicken Pox Treatment in Hindi -

Chicken Pox Treatment in Hindi -
