Any eye drops to increase my eyesight I dnt like specks to wear my current specks no is 1.7.

Any eye drops to increase my eyesight I dnt like specks to wear my current specks no is 1.7.
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 17 years so your number will not increase much now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

How To Keep Your Eyes Protected During Summers?

MD Ophthalmology, Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS)
Ophthalmologist, Bangalore
How To Keep Your Eyes Protected During Summers?

During summer you try to take special care about the overall health of your body, particularly, your eyes. Eyes are one of the most important organs of the body, and the scorching summer heat can cause serious eye problems like conjunctivitis, infections, red eye, migraines etc., which is why it's important to take proper care of eyes during the summer season.

Here are some tips to keep your eyes cool and protected during the summer:

  • Wearing sunglasses is very important when you are outdoors as it protects your eyes from the harmful UVA and UVB light. This will help in avoiding migraines and even serious conditions like cataract.
  • Avoid midday sunshine. Stay indoors as much as possible during the middle of the day to avoid the sunshine then when the effect of the sun and ultraviolet radiation exposure are at their peak.
  • When you plan to go for a swim, make sure you wear your swimming goggles. Otherwise you might catch conjunctivitis.
  • You should not splash water into the eyes directly unless any foreign particles such as dust enter your eyes. This might damage the tear film of the eye, which protects your eyes.
  • You need to maintain proper hygiene by washing your hands and face properly as soon as you reach home so that dust or grime does not enter the eyes as their entry can result in allergies and infections.
  • You can keep a slice of cucumber on each of your eyes to relax and cool them down.
  • 6 to 8 hours of sleep are a must as they help in revitalizing your eyes.
  • Adding green vegetables, carrots, nuts, liver and fruits to your diet would be very beneficial for the health of your eyes. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ophthalmologist.

I am using contact lens I have used the expired lens for a day. And I got irritation in my eye. Could you please tell me it will make any problem in my eyes?

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
If irritation persists or increases, it could be a concern, you will need to get yourself checked up by an ophthalmologist to make sure cornea is not infected. If irritation reduces or is relieved completely, you probably had a lucky escape. Meanwhile, you can try using a lubricant eye drop such as zyaqua, 2 or 3 times per day and inform us the response.

Hello. There are multiple reasons associated with small eyes. Let me enumerate them in brief: (1) distribution of the fat around the eyes (peri-orbital fat). This plays a major role in the appearance of the eyes. With change in age and body structure, it tends to vary. In deep sunken eyes, it may be significantly lesser. (2) thyroid disorder: people with variations of thyroid levels tend to have deep set/ popped out eyes. (3) excessive rubbing of the eyes: if done at younger age group, tends to cause small and deep eyes. (4) bony structure: the bony structure of the orbit determines the depth of the eyes. Coming to the treatment part, there are a few options available. They include: (1) botox injections (2) fillers (3) plastic and cosmetic surgery (4) investigations for thyroid levels and if required, treatment for the same. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-regards
