Back and leg pain for 3 to 4 years needs evaluation and treatment. X ray cannot identify conditions like intervertebral disc prolapse or other causes of back pain. You need to undergo mri scan of lumbo sacral spine after a trial of conservative therapy as discussed below. 1. Maintain proper posture while walking or sitting. Do not slouch or hunch. Take breaks between prolonged standing or sitting and change posture. Arrange your office desk and chair ergonomically 2. Back stretching and strengthening exercise to be done daily. 3. Walking helps to maintain spine health. 4. Keep pillow between knees or behind knees at night time. 5. Take healthy diet rich in calcium. 6. Do not bend forward to lift weights. 7. Lose weight if you are obese. 8. Take over the counter painkillers like ibuprofen if pain is severe. 9. Apply analgesic cream over back and do warm water fomentation. Back pain accompanied by tingling, numbness, weakness of legs and loss of urine or stool control needs urgent medical attention.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Sir, I have been suffering from low back pain since a year. The symptoms are like 1. Low back pain whenever I wake up from bed. 2. Cannot sit for longer time. Back pain can be due to multiple causes. It could range from simple muscular tightness and weakness to disc bulge or herniation and many more. Back and leg stretching exercises, hot and cold fermentation can help too. Try focusing on your posture, avoid prolong periods of sitting.

For a sportsman, coming face to face with sports injury is no big deal. But what is important is that he/she gets the correct treatment in order to recover fast and get back to the field, giving their best performance in their field of sports. With regular medical check ups, physiotherapy sessions, training sessions, exercises and gymnasium sessions, sports injuries are treated effectively. However, all variants of a treatment may not fit with all kinds of injuries. Thus, treatments are always injury-specific for a more effective progression.

Here are some of the most common sports injuries and their most effective treatments as prescribed by sports specialists.

  1. Ankle sprain: Ankle sprains are common among sportsmen and sportswomen when the ligaments of their ankles tear. Such injuries are very common, but also unfortunately, extremely painful and demand a lot of recovery time. With such an injury, even though they are advised bed rest, it is important to continue with some kinds of exercises. This would help in preventing the stamina and muscle strength in your ankles. But, it is very prone to sprains and injuries, if exercises involving the hamstring are not carried out properly. In fact, there are specific exercises pertaining to hamstring, which are performed to prevent it from injuries. Hamstring injuries have a very long recovery period. It might actually take up to a year for full recovery because it experiences constant pressure when you walk, letting it heal slowly. Thus, incorporating hamstring exercises in your daily routine would help in faster healing of such injuries.

Hi lybrate-user. If your standing for long durations, then you have to see that your foot wear are appropriate. Try using flat foot wear, with cushion. Preferably mcr chappal.
