Don't wait for pain in tooth to consult dentist.
Pain may be the last symptom of the disease began much earlier.
Periodontal (gum) diseases may be painless .
So consult dentist as early as possible to avoid lengthy and costly treatment.

I am 30 years old and I am suffering from tooth decay from last 35 days. What should I do?

Consult a dentist and get x ray done. If the problem is limited, your dentist will fill your tooth, if extensive he will do root canal treatment. If the problem is too severe, he will extract your teeth and place implant or bridge.

MDS

There may be some sharp edges of your teeth, visit a dentist to get them checked, avoid hot and spicy foods, stress also leads to ulcers on tongue. Apply mucopain and hexigel ointments.

I have problem in my mouth, my tooth are not really strong I want to fix braces wire can I put that.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult an orthodontist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (model study, full mouth & profile x-ray) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need fixed / removable braces. Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces) varies with dentist. You may consult me in person.

Sometimes there are some fafola grew in side my mouth. After 3-4 days it become clear automatically. Is there any solution.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
It looks like you have problem of ulcers. There are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin b-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and gastrointestinal tract disease, such as coeliac disease and crohn's disease. -when you first quit smoking, you may develop more mouth ulcers than normal, but this is temporary. Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take'becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief.

Visit your dentist for regular advice and cleaning tips

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

MDS - Oral Medicine and Radiology, BDS

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
You need bleaching and poloishing. And after that, maintain it by brushing twice daily and rinse your mouth after each meal. Floss your tooth to prevent food impaction. Avoid food that cause stains like excess of tea and coffee, chocolates, tobacco products, pan, gutka, alcohol and smoking.

Cigarette Smoking - How it Affects Your Teeth

MDS - Periodontology and Oral Implantology, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Cigarette Smoking - How it Affects Your Teeth

‘Smoking is injurious to health’, is a caption that is flashed on all cigarette packets. However, what is not told about is their adverse effects on the mouth.  The mouth with the lips, teeth, and gums are not just the first points of contact for a cigarette but also one of the majorly affected parts.

Listed below are how smoking affects the teeth and the mouth at large.

  1. Bad breath (halitosis)

  2. Tooth discoloration (brown to black spotting)

  3. Tobacco deposits on the teeth leading to irritation of the gums

  4. Increased formation of plaque and tartar on the teeth, leading to significant gum disease

  5. Gum disease leads to tooth loss

  6. Increased jaw bone loss

  7. Lower success rate of dental implant procedures

  8. Delayed healing after any oral procedure including extraction, periodontal treatment, or oral surgery

  9. Increased risk of leukoplakia, white patches inside the mouth, which is a precursor to oral cancer

  10. Increased risk of developing oral cancer

  11. Reduces blood flow to the gums, thereby affecting healing

The tiny tobacco deposits sit on the tooth surface and with time, produce brownish stains. These are a constant source of irritation for the gums, causing gum disease. Unlike the regular plaque caused by food, this is much harder and more abrasive on the gums. This leads to damage of the periodontal tissue, which are connecting fibers between the teeth and the gums.  This leads to gradual tooth mobility and eventually loss.

Correlation:  If you are a smoker,

  1. You are at risk for gum disease twice compared to a nonsmoker.

  2. More cigarettes you smoke, greater the risk for gum disease.

  3. More number of years you smoke, greater the risk for gum disease.

  4. Poor response to regular treatment for gum disease.

Management:  The gum disease can eventually lead to tooth loss.  Therefore, the gums need to be protected at all cost to maintain oral health.  Some things to do are listed below, starting from the seemingly innocuous to the severe infections.

  1. Regular cleanings at your dentist's office once in 6 months

  2. Daily brushing and flossing to manage early gum disease

  3. Deep cleaning below the gum line and prescription mouth rinses if there is already existing gum inflammation

  4. Surgery to remove deeply seated plaque and tartar.

  5. Surgery with bone graft to replace the bone lost to periodontitis.

  6. Most important of all, quitting smoking.  This will produce remarkable benefits when the above are followed.

However, if the above are done with continued smoking, the effects will not last long.

Cigarette smoking is one habit, which has way too many effects on way too many working’s of the body and therefore kicking the habit is the best way to manage, not just your teeth, but your overall health.

Hai I am 26 years old, in an accident I lost my teeth, I heard that we can regenerate teeth using stemcells of wisdom tooth, is it possible, if it is possible how much the cost will be per tooth. I have already have a bridge, but I want natural looking teeth, and I know about dental implants, but I do not want to put artificial things in my mouth.

BDS
Dentist,
Dear lybrate-user stem cell procedure to regain lost tooth is nt in practical yet n moreover according to theory f stem cell to regenerate tissue need to preserve the own stem cell in early stage f birth at stem bank n I think you didn't preserve your decidious tooth s stem cell at stems cell bank.
