I am 23 years old male and Got a blood test which showed the Sensitivity of C reactive protein to be 4.62. What is it...
C-reactive protein (CRP) is a blood test marker for inflammation in the body. CRP is produced in the liver and its level is measured by testing the blood. C-reactive protein is a marker of inflammation and is typically not detected in the blood unless some degree of inflammation is present in the body. The main causes of increased CRP and other markers of inflammation are a variety of conditions, including burns, trauma, infections, such as pneumonia or tuberculosis, heart attack, chronic inflammatory diseases such as lupus, vasculitis, or rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and certain cancers. Treatment - The most effective and reliable ways to reduce it by regular exercise, balanced diet, and cigarette smoking cessation. In individuals with elevated cholesterol levels who do not reach their target cholesterol level with diet modification and proper exercise, cholesterol lowering medication may be advised. How to Get Rid of Heartburn Immediately?

How to Get Rid of Heartburn Immediately?

Heartburn is the name given to that burning sensation in your chest or throat that happens when acid rises up from your stomach into your mouth. Heartburn is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD, also called acid reflux.

The commonest heartburn trigger is your diet. Spicy, heavy food causes acid reflux. Coffee, soda, tomatoes, alcohol and chocolate are culprits too. Obesity, smoking and medications for hypertension and cancer are the causes of heartburn too.

Certain people are more susceptible to heartburn. Sportspeople experience heartburn more, usually because exercise is a big trigger. It does so by putting increased pressure on the abdomen, which can increase the risk of acid reflux.

What can you do when heartburn strikes?

  1. Wear Loose Clothes- Heartburn happens when stomach contents go back into the food pipe where the stomach acid burns tissue. If tight clothes constrict your abdomen, you can experience more heartburn. To get immediate relief, you can just loosen the belt of your trousers.

  2. Proper Posture- Sitting up or standing straight can control heartburn. A slumped body posture can compress the internal organs including the stomach. An immediate quick fix is to lengthen your spine by gently moving your head towards the ceiling.

  3. Eat Less- Overeating can cause the door between the stomach and food pipe to open, allowing contents to flow back and cause heartburn.

  4. Quick Home Remedies-

    • Drink teaspoonful of baking soda mixed into a glass of water whenever you suffer from heartburn. This is a home remedy that works.

    • Raise your body, if you’re lying down and experience heartburn. Use a pillow to elevate your body waist-up. This will get rid of heartburn fast.

    • Chewing gum can neutralise stomach acid. This is because gum increases saliva which clears off acid in the gut.

  5. Avoid Cigarette Smoke- Smoking, both active and passive are harmful, if you suffer from heartburn.

  6. Over-the-counter Medications- Antacids, H2 blockers, and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are all effective in treating heartburn. PPIs work by blocking acid production, H2 blockers reduce the amount of acid in your stomach and antacids neutralise stomach acid.

  7. Melatonin- A common sleep–inducing supplement is being investigated as a heartburn remedy.

Always remember to check with your doctor before taking any herbal remedy or supplement for heartburn. This is because supplements can have side effects or can interact with medications you may already be taking.

Common tips to prevent heartburn are to eat at least three hours before bedtime, avoid lying down immediately after eating and staying away from fatty and spicy foods. Maintaining a healthy weight is also key to preventing heartburn. It also helps if you do mild exercise regularly. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

It is different for every individual what is normal for them. If you think what you are doing is wrong, then it is abnormal for you and it starts to affect your daily life. But if you think, there is nothing wrong in it, then it is normal for you. If you wish to stop doing it, you will have to make you will power stronger to not do it and focus on other more important things than that.

Hey, I am a teenager age 16 and I have a habit of masturbating daily once, I don't have any issues but I have a question that is it ok to masturbate in this age. Please answer my question. Thank you.

Hey, I am a teenager age 16 and I have a habit of masturbating daily once, I don't have any issues but I have a quest...
Masturbation is a very healthy form of sexual outlet, do not feel guilty about it. Once or twice a day is very much normal. Nearly 99% of men and more than 60% of women masturbate. It starts from adolescence and goes on in some people even till death. The pleasure (orgasm) from masturbation is said to be unique from sexual intercourse. In men, most of the liquid contains only water and some fructose and hormones. Hence it does not drain your energy. Many equate masturbation/ seminal fluid loss to lack of energy, impotency and so on. Many quacks, religious heads and pseudo healers also propagate the idea that masturbation is a disorder/ and wrongful behaviour and instil fear on the mind of innocent men and women (we can see posters in train and bus stand, offering help for this behaviour). Consult a psychiatrist, if you have excessive masturbation guilt or compulsive masturbation. Compulsive masturbation is when a person continues with frequent masturbation neglecting his/ her other work like education, job or social obligations. In fact masturbation reduces the sexual tension and helps focus on task at hand better.

Do foreplay for more time and keep relax, have more intimacy, with sexual excitement in men penis gets erection and in women vaginal opening gets bigger along with lubricant secretion inside it. Still he is not able to penetrate, you both should consult sexologist.

I usually masturbate using soap (dove or johnson baby soap) is it safe? If not what r the effects?

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)

I usually masturbate using soap (dove or johnson baby soap) is it safe? If not what r the effects?
Hello- In short term it might be nice an slippery, long term it's not a good idea for the skin. Soap and shower gel contain different ingredients and might call themselves "nurturing for the skin" etc. On their ads. But their main purpose is still to get the dirt of your skin, so this will have an impact on the skin. There are much better way to get nice and slippery! Natural oils are one, special lubricants are well worth trying as well as they are designed to stay slippery for a long time.
