90% of the Food You Eat Is Wrecking Your Digestive System

DIABETES EDUCATOR, PGDND, RMP -ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE, MEDICAL TRANSCRITPTINIST, M.SC, Msc nutrition

90% of the Food You Eat Is Wrecking Your Digestive System

The way a human body works is tricky; to enable proper digestion and to feel fit throughout the day it is best to have a balanced diet. Things that you consider nutritious could be gnawing at your digestive tract. A person could be suffering from acid reflux, continual stretches of diarrhea or constipation, gastroesophageal reflux or an irritable bowel syndrome; kinds of food being consumed should be reviewed and altered as a basic remedy to these health problems.

  1. Stay away from acidic fruits: A fruit that is acidic in nature will have acidic effects on the digestive system. Acidic fruits should, therefore never be consumed in large amounts. Acid of any kind has a corrosive effect on our internal organs and hence should not be taken on an empty or an upset stomach. Lemons, oranges, tomatoes and other citrus fruits fall under this category of food.
  2.  The myth about milk: Milk contains lactose that is hard to digest. People with lactose intolerance face the results right after consuming milk or other dairy products. Aged people face more difficulties in digesting milk. Dairy products when eaten in excess can result in gas, bloating or diarrhea. It is time you stopped believing in the myth milk is anything, but bad for digestive health.
  3. Processed wheat is not healthy at all: Bread is the easiest way of making a meal for yourself. However, its effects on your digestive system and your overall health are in no way good. Processed wheat can constipate you as it lacks in fiber. It contains added preservatives that can be harsh on your stomach.
  4. Ignore that soft corner for fries: While your stomach needs to be provided with food from time to time it also needs to be emptied. Fried food prevents emptying of the stomach. They tend to remain in the digestive system for long making you feel bloated and uneasy.
  5. Red meat and unhealthy fats will ruin digestion: Most of us like eating red meat and other kinds of fat such as butter, ghee, cheese and ice- creams. These fats are hard to digest and they result in recurrent stomach contractions. Stomach contractions can further lead to two extremes; you can be constipated for a few days or might have diarrhea.

Dear Lybrate user. Oral sex is considered unhealthy and unhygienic. Mainly because vagina is always moist and therefore there are every chances of harmful microorganism thrive within and around vagina. Do not do oral sex. Take care.

Which type of foods are good for proper sperm count. oligospermia is serious problem?

MBBS, MCCEE, Fellowship in Sexual Medicine
Sexologist, Jaipur
Yes oligospermia means you have less sperms. Most youngsters need to spend time for morning jogging, eat fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. Zinc supplements and green vegetables provide you necessary vitamins. Most people wear undergarments round the clock. This also is wrong. Do not wear underwear at night and on holidays. You should wear undergarments that are one or two size bigger so that your scortum hangs full in it. Stay at cool area and take bath with cold tap water. Your trousers should not be tight. Follow these and take medcine and some improvement will be there. Remember when ever you go for semen analysis, you should not have either masterbated or had done a intercourse atleast 4-5 days before the test. Then only exact report comes.

Right now it doesn't hurt so much as it did before. I can breathe Normal and move around fine. I woke up at around 8: 15am now it's 9: 14am. What should I do. Am I having a heart attack? This never happened before just slight heartburn when I eat hot food.

No it need not be typical heart attack means myocardial infarction. But since you have this precordial pain of chest bit is better to consult a medical specialist to exclude any abnormalities in the functioning of heart including blood pressure and blood sugar level.

I am suffering for fever from last two weeks, will you please tell me how I can make my self normal?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Take Schwabe’s Alpha-CF and Biocombination-11, both after every 2 hourly for 4 days. Management: -Sponging or bathing with tepid water. The use of a fan or air conditioning may somewhat reduce the temperature and increase comfort. If the temperature reaches the extremely high level of hyperpyrexia, aggressive cooling is required. -Take rest and drink plenty of fluids. -Take light, bland, properly cooked home-made healthy food only. Consult again if the fever is accompanied by a severe headache, stiff neck, shortness of breath, or other unusual signs or symptoms.

Whenever I want to grow my nails it cracks or broke completely, even it gets pale and black and remove from skin as well, what should I do for this?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
The diseases that can affect your nails are eating disorders(taking less meals), deficiency of biotin, hypothyroidism, disease of the liver, lung or kidney, psoriasis, The body requires vital vitamins like vitamin A,B complex,C and D for nails; otherwise it could lead to brittle nails: Lack of zinc, iron, protein, and calcium could also result in weak and brittle nails. REMEDY: Soak a cotton ball with olive or castor oil and use it to gently swab your finger nails. You can also use the mixture of a few drops of olive oil and lemon juice with a table spoon of honey. Use the mixture on your nails before you go to sleep. Fill a tub with warm water and salt and soak your fingers in it for a while. Once you are finished wipe your hands and apply moisturizing cream on them. Massage the oil on your nails with a swab of cotton for 3 to 4 days; it should help with the brittleness and improve circulation as well. Apply normal moisturizing cream on your fingers and nails and cover your hand with cotton gloves when you sleep. This helps the nails retain moisture and keeps your hands soft. take good healthy protein rich diet like 2 boiled eggs with milk in breakfast -tablet A to Z taken twice daily with meals contains all necessary vitamins which will remove the deficiency

PCOD is like Diabetes of the ovary where resistance to hormone insulin causes most of the problem. A strict diet control with exercise is the main mode of treatment. 15-20%weight loss will help you achieve the cure. For a detailed explanation, feel free to consult. Thanks.

I am 61 years diabetic since 2005, till 2014 Dec I was under medication, my sugar level was near normal, but I do not want allopathy medicine, by any other treatment my sugar level will be brought to normal.

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)
Endocrinologist, Delhi
I understand your sentiments when you say that you want to control your diabetes without medicines. I want to tell you that it is possible. But only for those patients who are at a very early stage of diabetes which means that they have very low sugar derangement which can be handled by exercise and diet alone. Only way to know that is by trying dietary compliance and good exercise regime. After these efforts if your sugar gets in control then you can sure that you can avoid medicines. But remember two things. Checking of sugars should be regular. One time control does not mean consistent control. Second, if your sugars are out of control then don't keep avoiding medicines because your body is facing the bad effects of diabetes already.
