Drink one part in the morning and the other in the evening. 8.Warm mustard oil or sesame oil (1 teaspoon) with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 tsp of ajwain (carom) seeds until it roasts to a reddish brown colour. Continue taking medicines which are protective to the heart also. Reduce salt intake to bare minimum, joint pain can be due to retention of water or lack of proper exercises, putting entire load of body on knees. Get investigated by showing to your doctor. Get an x ray of joint done. Get back here with report and do consult a good physiotherapist for proper exercises which do not strain the knee joints.

I am 25 years old and I have headache every morning and leg pain for the pass two months. Please help me.
: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

I am suffering by coccyx pain from aug 2017 onwards please suggest me what I do. Till now I have not taken any medicine.
Prolonged coccyx pain can be troublesome. To get rid of it you need to give it rest to heal. Avoid seating on hard surfaces either carry a pillow with you underneath to sit or a tube tyre to sit on so you are not sitting on your tail bone. Avoid travelling in bus autos rickshaw anything that gives you bumps. And take sitz bath dip urself in warm cosy water so to have hot fermentation of the back. Take analgesic along with it. Wish you a speedy recovery hope this sort your query for further assistance can contact anytime.

Bone and Joint Health

Bone and Joint Health

Staying healthy involves a wholesome state of being where the mind and body are in perfect sync. A less than properly functioning body can leave you in a state of potential depression after a certain point of time, while a depressive mind can leave you feeling less than stellar where you end up imagining and experiencing pain. The health of your bones and joints is one such area that requires even more care as you start growing older. Wear and tear is just one of the reasons for degeneration while fractures and injuries can lead to a sudden halt of normal functioning of the bones and joints too.

So how can you ensure bone and joint health in the long run? Follow our tips!

  1. Eating Right: Pick calcium rich food like dairy products that have a low fat content, including milk and yogurt. Also, have a daily dose of green, leafy vegetables and plenty of citrus fruit and juices for your fill of calcium. Further, food like eggs and soybeans which have lots of vitamin D can also help in retaining good bone and joint health. Vitamin C rich fruit like watermelon, oranges, squash and tomatoes also help in natural tissue and cartilage repair. And finally, get plenty of vitamin K to retain good bone density for a prolonged period with ingredients like leafy green vegetables, eggs and cheese.
  2. Exercise: This is the key to good bone and joint health. Much like machinery and tools, the bones and joints of your body can also wither with disuse and prolonged inactivity. Make sure that you indulge in exercises like long walks and muscle strengthening exercises which will give your joints and bones good amount of strength as well. Remember to speak with your doctor before you start a new exercise regime so that you avoid anything that may be harmful in case you have any other ailment. Low impact exercises will strengthen the spine, while fat burning and weight loss exercises will ensure that there is less pressure on the knees and lumbar area. Swimming and resistance building exercises can also be practised for these purposes.
  3. Abstinence: A major factor in promoting better bone and joint health is abstinence from all those things that can create problems in the long run, like smoking, drinking excessively and even too much consumption of caffeine and fatty food. All these things can create depletion of the natural bone mass. Also, switching to a lower heel for everyday wear footwear and changing your position during your time at your workstation are a few things that will go a long way.

Take care of your bones and joints the right way today, for a healthier tomorrow.

My mother 82 years, has been diagnosed with Parkinsynosis after trial and error from several physicians and surgeons who first treated her for NPH for around 3 years, and also for bi-polar disease for about a decade. She seems to be on the path of recovery as far as the Parkinson's disease is concerned. But she has movement problems is not able to stand on her feet/legs and needs to be lifted. She also has problems with her back. We have been advised to give her Neuro-physiotherapist support. Kindly advise.

Dear Shanta, At this ripe age, your mother needs physiotherapy more than any diagnosis and treatment. Try and reduce your or any other caretakers burden. You can plan for a home nursing aid to help you out of burn out. There are many old age aids in the market like special beds, commodes and walkers. Try out the ones those will be useful.
