Dear lybrate-user cavities if corrected in early stages can save lot of time and money for you. So find a dentist and correct it. Bleeding is never comed from teeth it comes always from gums so you probably need a good cleaning and polishing of your teeth at dental office. That ideally should reduce your yellowness too.

Tooth ache can be due to many reasons like decay, gum problem, erupting third molar etc. It is inportant to know the cause and treat them. Medicines gives only a symptomatic relief. I suggest you to consult a dentist nearby.

Certified Implantologist, BDS
Dentist, Kolhapur
You have mentioned teeth problem which indicates remaining teeth to me. To get healthy teeth you need to brush properly better with fluoridated paste which reduces cavity formation.on routine basis, i suggest you to get your teeth cleaned from dentist every 6 months which will take care of cavities and gum problems. Also if u see any discolouration on tooth please instantly seek dental help to prevent further loss of tooth structure.any more queries feel free to ask on 9890232345.

I am a 17 years old female, I have crooked teeth, also I have a slight overbite and my teeth are a bit forward. I had made an x-ray once, not too long ago, according to which I nearly have a 90° of angle in my teeth. I also had consult an orthodontist for braces treatment. According to him he said he'll have to remove my upper two and lower two teeth for traditional braces. I don't want any tooth extraction surgeries, would you please guide me through this. Which treatment should I go for, traditional braces, Damon braces or anything else. What?

Hello Lybrate user, Extraction treatment protocol varies according to the extent of malocclusion. With Damon braces some of the extraction cases can be converted into nonextraction, not indicated for all extraction cases though. The extraction treatment of four premolars with traditional braces, also gives good results. With Damon system the friction is less, less no. Of appointments, more comfortable. Since you are not willing to undergo extraction, you can discuss further about Damon system with your Orthodontist.

Infections in the mouth, such as dental caries (tooth decay), periodontal (gum) disease or mouth sores related to other conditions may contribute to bad breath. Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. Dry mouth also can cause bad breath. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath, You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then.

The pain is due to decay in teeth. Go for root canal treatment followed by cap. Painkiller will only give you temporary relief.

If you have cavity you need to visit dentist because you need to take treatment. If general sensitivity you can use SHY NM tooth paste. First apply and leave it for 2 to 3 min then brush twice daily.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth & profile x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need braces. Cost depends upon your affordability, duration & requirements. It varies with dentist. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x/ after every 2 hours. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.

For sparkling teeth you can sprinkle a little salt on the toothpaste before brushing.
Rubbing of bay leaf once in a week also helps. But keep in mind that it is best to go to the dentist for teeth whitening.

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

Hi smell and pain can be due to gum problem known as gingivitis with plaque deposition. You need to go for cleaning and scaling. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash. Brush regularly two times daily.

Hi I am 35 years old. I have gap in between front teeth and looking yellowish. What should I do?
Hi, modern day dentistry allows you to fill small gaps between teeth by procedure called dental bonding. If you could send some pictures then we are in better position to comment. For yellow teeth you need to get a professional cleaning done. If that does not help then you may go for teeth whitening.

Hey doc. I have recently completed my treatment of rct bt still capping has to be done. I have something small ulcer ...
Ulcers beneath your tongue is not because of any injection. It may be common apthous ulcers. For this avoid spicy food, do warm saline gargles three times a day, and take becasole tab once in a day. Your second question tooth can be break due to any trauma also or if their natural composition is weak. Doing root canal is good treatment so do not be anxious and get your treatment finished.
